If my MIL says anything to us tonight about another baby, I may blow up on her. We plan to tell her tomorrow anyways, but I'm sick and tired of her questions and comments every time we talk to her or see her. I'm sure it'll piss of DH if I do go off, but I've bitched to him about it so he knows how I feel. Apparently he doesn't think it's weird though when she and his grandma tell us "go make another baby!" Yes I enjoy sex with your son/grandson, but it's weird when you tell us to do it!! Ugh!! (Maybe this was more vent than FFC?)
I gave my kid a sausage egg and cheese Eggo sandwich for dinner last night. He ate it right up.
Here's the backstory: I had him at hourly care on base while I went to a doctor's appointment in the afternoon. He didn't get his second nap there, and then he didn't fall asleep in the car on the way home until we were 3 minutes from the house. (A half-hour drive! Kid!) Of course he didn't make the transfer, so I let it be and made plans to bump bedtime up an hour.
Come supper time, I discovered that H had eaten the chicken I was planning to heat up for A (which, NBD -- I'd wanted him to try it anyway, it's just that he doesn't usually get leftovers out of his own accord). I had a shrimp dish from Plated I was planning on making for myself, but I knew A wouldn't eat much (if any) of it, and he was getting super cranky to the point that I couldn't even cook it for myself. So. I reached into the freezer, grabbed one of those suckers, and microwaved it. Boom.

@PensiveCrayon lol i don't think that sounds like a confession at all. I think it sounds like a dinner that had multiple food groups and got everyone through the evening. win!
My 2-year-old helped herself to last night's pizza crusts for breakfast this morning, so y'all are in good company. Additional FFFC: I left them on the table instead of throwing them away because I knew she'd get into the garbage to find them if I didn't. It's happened before.
All of the kid dinners here remind me of my childhood. My dad made dinner most nights, but sometimes he didn’t want to (especially as us girls got older) and I’d ask what’s for dinner and he’d reply, “oh, I think it’s an ffy night”. Ffy = fend for yourself. Then my sisters & I would make our own food.
My fffc today is mild. I’m still drinking two cups of coffee a day. I think it’s still under 200 mg, but sometimes I’ll have an extra caffeinated beverage in the afternoon. I couldn’t think of a better confession today.
I send my kid to school with a Lunchable every day
Lunchables were the best. My parents only gave us those when we had field trips. They made me think that it was some expensive luxury. Then I grew up and I was like, “hey! This is like $1, what the heck!” I eat the pizza ones now sometimes. Lol
Ahh the pizza lunchables are SO GOOD. You got swarmed if you had one of those in grade school. People would trade you ANYTHING for just one pizza. We got maybe one a month? My mom refused to buy them on a regular basis. Still bitter about it.
I work from home most days which is a blessing but my husband is on a guy’s trip, (they are too old to call It a bachelor party and are going to a baseball game, lame) so I feel like I don’t have to work or clean this filthy house. My DS is at daycare and I feel like an nap is in order. I will kick myself this weekend when I can’t take the mess anymore and will most likely be up super late on sunday catching up on work but right now, SLEEP!!
@tumbleweed-1 Were we raised by the same parents? Did they also pack wheat bread sandwiches and grape soda and root beer for road trips?
We did pack food for road trips! Lol, but my parents bought white bread. (As an adult I feel like I have to only eat wheat bread now to make up for my not so great childhood diet, lol) The good ol’ 90s.

FWIW I thought that sodas were only available in restaurants. Drinking bubbles on a roadtrip is an adult indulgence. But wheat bread? Hells yes. White bread turns to glue in my mouth, it is my nemesis.
Also, I don’t really have a FFFC. I’m just lounging on the couch because I feel like crap otherwise. DH will have to help me buy potluck supplies tonight. (I’m making carne guisada, he’s making tomatillo salsa to share at a Cinco par-tay mañana)

I have been stressing the importance of budgeting to my husband and meanwhile have been treating myself to breakfast and chai tea lattes at Starbucks *every single morning* on the way to work. Whoops.
I know it’s Saturday now, but going along with the lack of meal effort for children. DH is at work and so my 2 year old is currently laying in bed with me watching tv with chocolate milk and his third plate of blueberries, strawberries, and pretzels, which I will certainly pay for when he poops later, but it’s allowing me to be lazy, so....
@Gwyneddlesliegrace I’m so glad I discovered dry shampoo a few years ago! I have very fine, straight hair that gets oily super fast (I use a sulfate free shampoo/conditioner, just condition the ends, try my best to space out washes, all the tricks, my hair still doesn’t care).
Over the years I slowly accepted that fact that if I didn’t wash my hair every other day, I was going to look like professor snape half the week. Until I discovered dry shampoo! Lol. It gives my hair some much needed texture and volume too.
