Pregnant with Left side pain

So I'm 4 weeks & 2 days pregnant. I've been having pain in what feels like ovulation pain near my left ovary for 2 days now. It's very sharp and not super constant but happens throughout the day. I havent had any spotting or bleeding at all. My right shoulder has been hurting too, but that could be from lifting things at work or from my bra, idk. But I called my doctors office about it and they want me to come in today. I'm so, so worried about an ectopic pregnany... I need peace of mind. Anyone had or have this experience and everything turn out okay?

At least your doctor is seeing you soon! It could be a regular pregnancy occurrence with your body get ready to carry a baby (muscles start to stretch). Best of luck and hope it’s nothing bad!

With my ectopic the shoulder pain didnt come until after I had already ruptured and had intense, constant abdominal pain on the side and difficulty breathing. Early in all my pregnancies I've had cramping near ovaries but It was not even near the pain level of when i ruptured (and mine was weird because it started as a leak that kept sealing so I wasnt sure it was ectopic for weeks til it blew). Everyone's different though, it's good you are being seen.

ETA I did have spotting and bleeding off and on during my ectopic

  • @reineydays I had right side pain when I got my BFP and it lasted a good 4 days, but it was on and off. Sharp pains that would go away after about 5 minutes then come back later. My doctor told me it was most likely a cyst since usually the ovary that releases the egg will form a cyst. She told me I shouldn't worry about an ectopic pregnancy unless the pain gets unbearable and doesn't actually go away.

I did read you were going in to see your doctor yesterday. What did your doctor say?

  • Sorry, guys! This app doesn't notify me when I get replies! This makes me feel alot better. She just told me that if the pain gets worse and doesn't go away then I should go to the ER. They didn't have an ultrasound tech working that day, but they made me an appointment to another clinic (It's UTMB, btw. So just one of their bigger clinics). I think she called it a beta clinic or a beta appointment? But they have a lab and the ultrasound techs in the clinic so I'll be able to get my hcg levels tested and all that there. So, fingers crossed it's just a cyst! I really think it is. But, better safe than sorry! :)
  • The baby is where it's supposed to be. I'm so relieved! It's still too early to see it but you can see the sac. And I found out I am 3 days further along than I thought going by measurements
  • @reineydays I am having the same exact thing. I go in tomorrow for an early ultrasound to check for ectopic pregnancy. I was in the ER earlier this week as I have been having extreme morning sickness and needed to be rehydrated. The doc took my hcg levels and she came back shocked because they were 50,000 and I was only 5 weeks. My DH has been googling which has scared me cause he found this thing called a molar pregnancy, and of course the ectopic. With my extreme sickness and high levels the doc just wants to be sure all is well. I'm having the hardest time not worrying at this moment. I am officially 6 weeks today and we really pray that all is well, this is a miracle for us. Your story has given me hope.
  • Hey, I'm sorry I haven't checked this in awhile and just now saw your comment! How did the ultrasound go? Is everything okay? Your levels are so high! Are you expecting twins? ;)
