AFM, I heard from my clinic re: additional monitoring. My RE is away until the 14th so the first u/s they have available is May 18. They gave me the option of having an earlier u/s with a different RE at their main location in the city. I thought about it and decided that I'd rather stick with my own RE and I will just do a couple of extra betas. They're going to email me a requisition form and said I can do betas whenever I feel I need to. I made an appointment for another beta on Monday and then again the following Monday. Hopefully that will hold me over until the u/s @ 6w4d.

@tosh24 cramping is better but is still there, comes and goes. Same for the spotting, started on Wed and not every time I wipe (sorry TMI) but is not gone. The Dr said is fine as long is not a combination of cramps/red blood.
@laurengon82 that’s fantastic news!! I thought it was strange that just because they are day 6 that they would freeze them together.
Got it a call yesterday and my HCG is already down to 73 so they think it will be at zero by end of the week next week. I want to get this testing started and done! I’m off all summer and would love to have my other transfer before the school year starts. Praying for July at this point.
@J1006 I was thinking the same thing! Transfer in June and then if need be another in July or August and not have to take those days off once school is back in session. Glad to hear your hcg is coming down.
@laurengon82 yay!!! So glad that was a miscommunication!!! @J1006 it would be so awesome to transfer when you’re out of work and don’t have to worry about scheduling

@mcgeeva we are doing a FET with our last embryo. This is what we wanted and what our RE suggested. If this one works we will do another retrieval at some point. If it doesn’t we will most likely move to adoption.

@suzycupcake retrieval itself is a piece of cake. It’s just after if you get OHSS which not a ton of people get. And if your not doing a fresh transfer your body has time to calm down. With pcos a fresh transfer would of been out since I always over stimulate. I need to read you post to see where you are at getting started

@mcgeeva I'm definitely an over responder so maybe freezing should be considered. I'm hoping to find a doc who will also be somewhat conservative with me. I mean, if we cannot get any quality out of taking 8 eggs out or something like that, then what's the point? Idk, that's just how I feel right now. I'm struggling with the thought of pouring a shit ton of meds into my body to do this.
Also, I thought ndz was talking about giving herself shots? Are the ones for ivf intramuscularly? I know for a fact that I will not be able to do that myself. I'll definitely need my husband to do it for me.

@suzycupcake Yes we both have to do the shots in the butt every night if PIO (progesterone in oil) which you start before FET. The stomach shots are easy and painless but the PIO I also do bc my husband travels but those shots bruise and itch bad. You are stronger then you think! I get the meds it gross how much you have to use to make things happen but I am fine with t because I know my body will never make a baby or complete the process without. Just think it’s not forever!

@suzycupcake It went just fine! Actually My H has been giving me the shots on my left side I think I can So them if I needed to on my left side but since we decided to do them at night it’s easier for him to do them. I also Would do my stims myself when MH wasn’t around too. The stim needles are much less intimidating.

My RE told me that there have been no studies on the effectiveness of crinone gel vs progesterone shots, so while shots are the norm for FET, I could do crinone instead if I wanted to. I couldn't even give myself the belly shots during IVF, my husband did them for me, so I went with the crinone. Crinone can be a little gross, especially because I had to do it twice a day for FET (I only had to use it once a day during IVF), but I would reccomend it, especially for anyone who is struggling with the PIO shots.

@ndz2018 mine was the exact same way! My guess was that I did a lot on my right on my own so maybe my muscle wasn’t as relaxed when I did it versus when DH did it.

@mama2b1974 I hope you've gotten some great news by now!
AFM, I heard from my clinic re: additional monitoring. My RE is away until the 14th so the first u/s they have available is May 18. They gave me the option of having an earlier u/s with a different RE at their main location in the city. I thought about it and decided that I'd rather stick with my own RE and I will just do a couple of extra betas. They're going to email me a requisition form and said I can do betas whenever I feel I need to. I made an appointment for another beta on Monday and then again the following Monday. Hopefully that will hold me over until the u/s @ 6w4d.

@tosh24 cramping is better but is still there, comes and goes. Same for the spotting, started on Wed and not every time I wipe (sorry TMI) but is not gone. The Dr said is fine as long is not a combination of cramps/red blood.
afm, the nurse at my re’s clinic called me today to let me know that my two embryos were frozen separately! I am so relieved!
@laurengon82 that’s fantastic news!! I thought it was strange that just because they are day 6 that they would freeze them together.
Got it a call yesterday and my HCG is already down to 73 so they think it will be at zero by end of the week next week. I want to get this testing started and done! I’m off all summer and would love to have my other transfer before the school year starts. Praying for July at this point.
