Re: Wednesday Ticker • EDDs 12/5, 12/12, 12/19, 12/26
8 weeks! One week away from my MC milestone. (Not too nervous though because we know there's a baby in there already)
2. How are you feeling?
Decent! Annoyed that productivity is very low...not what I want when we move in six weeks! I have a lot of crap to donate and throw away but I don't have the energy -ugh.
3. When is your next appointment?
In two weeks. Feels like the longest wait, but I remind myself that it's good that my OB doesn't need to see me.
4. Rants/Raves/Questions/Dear Diary:
Dear Diary, I think I'm going to confess this pregnancy to our closest friends at their Cinco de Mayo party. They know that we've been trying, and most know that I MC last December. They'll know something is up right away when I turn down the tequila shots -might as well let the cat out of the bag.
GTKY: Have you already planned any nursery themes?
Not really, because we'll move again when LO is six months old. So far my plan will be gender neutral colors, and maybe a zoo theme. I'm sure we'll get all kinds of plush aircraft toys...too bad most plane plushies are Boeings (at least, the most I have seen).

2. How are you feeling? Mostly fine. A little bit of almost-nausea, a little bit of tired, a little bit of nosebleed. I'm way less stuffed up this time than I was last time; fingers crossed it stays this way!
3. When is your next appointment? Had my OB intro on Monday, and I'll have another appointment in about 4 weeks. Need another ultrasound (I had a LEEP procedure a few months ago, so they want to get a measure of my cervical length) and I go in for my first tri bloodwork end of next week, including the NIPT.
4. Rants/Raves/Questions/Dear Diary: Talked to my OB about the possibility of a VBAC. She suggested we plan on it, but let me know that she wouldn't induce and that she'd be reluctant to let me go past 40 weeks (so if baby's not out by 12/5, c-section it is). The one other confounding factor is size; she'd advise against a VBAC if we're looking at another giant. I was 10 lb 3 oz. My father was an ounce heavier than that. My daughter was 9 lb 14 oz on her due date, and my siblings and aunts and uncles and their respective children on both sides were big, too (at 8 lbs 11 oz and 2 weeks early, my sister was the runt of the litter). No gestational diabetes and we're all average-to-small sized people now, we're just engineered to be enormous. Suffice it to say I'm not getting my hopes up on that VBAC
GTKY: Have you already planned any nursery themes? Not yet. We need to finish our ongoing living room (remove wallpaper, repair plaster) and sunroom (insulate and replace ceiling, fix burst pipe out to radiator) projects before we start in on the nursery, which is currently in rough shape (down to the lathe in several places, large visible cracks everywhere else). I'll be happy if there are no holes in the walls by the time this baby arrives. Incidentally, we were in a rental when our first came, so our "theme" there was "don't damage the walls." If we manage to paint the nursery we'll be miles ahead of where we were for her!
1. How far along are you? Any milestones?
8 weeks!
2. How are you feeling?
Not bad, still pretty tired but no where near as bad as it was with my first. I'm with @echo-charlietango though on the zero productivity...I have no motivation to do anything!! I'm at work and all I want to do is go home, nap, then work on my sewing projects. Ugh.
3. When is your next appointment?
May 14th, mostly to check my BG levels. I'm already expecting her to tell me I'll be seeing a different OB who does high risk patients. See below.
4. Rants/Raves/Questions/Dear Diary:
I can't get my fasting BG number down in the range they want it, but my after meal levels are fine! Ugh! But she already told me that'll mean I need medication, and being on medication will make me high risk
GTKY: Have you already planned any nursery themes?
No, baby will sleep in our bed for quite a few months probably like we did with DS. After that they may share a room if baby sleeps thru the night! We plan to move in a couple years, so they'll have separate rooms then. We could technically do that now, but I like having a guest room, so they can share for a year or two lol.
DS2 due 12/12/18
Yeah! We didn't always use our guest room, but now we love having it. Besides, loads of kids share rooms. I was nine when my sister was born and we shared a room for about three years, then again when she was in elementary school and I was out of high school. I was highly motivated to work my ass off to afford my own rent.

6 weeks! This is when the nausea is supposed to start, right?
2. How are you feeling?
Not bad. Sometimes I think I feel a little queasy, then it goes away. The heightened sense of smell is starting to get to me, and some days I have headaches.
3. When is your next appointment?
5/21- that’ll be the first u/s and general appointment.
4. Rants/Raves/Questions/Dear Diary:
I’ve heard this a number of times from others but I feel the same: I sort of want more symptoms so I’ll feel pregnant (my pgal brain). I also don’t really want nausea because I’m a useless human when I’m sick. I don’t know how everyone else is powering through it.
GTKY: Have you already planned any nursery themes?
Maybe? We are thinking of some type of fantasy theme. Not from any specific show or book- just cute dragons, unicorns, castle stuff, etc. We are team green too- so not any specific “princess” or “knight” stuff.
But we are juggling a) our second room is our guest room which I would be sad to see go because all of my family lives out of town and I can usually coax them to visit me by offering a free stay, and b) rental = no painting or dramatic changes. I already decided F the walls when I put up curtains and mounted the tv. We can plaster over any obvious holes when we move out, which probably won’t be for a while. We live in a boring suburban apartment complex, but it’s a nice area. I have a south facing balcony with a view of a wooded/park area- not other buildings! Lol
2. How are you feeling? Depends on the day, definitely mad at myself for worrying regarding lack of symptoms now. I'll take that problem back now. Nausea and fatigue have definitely kicked in!
3. When is your next appointment? 5/8 for an ultrasound and doctor appointment.
4. Rants/Raves/Questions/Dear Diary: I have so much to do - we leave for a cruise on 5/13 (that is a surprise to my older kids) and work is crazy right now. But evenings seem to be my worst time with the nausea and fatigue, so I'm not getting much done. I'm hoping this weekend I can get some stuff done during the day.
GTKY: Have you already planned any nursery themes? I'm still trying to decide where baby is going! Our house is plenty big, but only 3 bedrooms and we have boys 8, 6, 6. I have a dining room I can convert to a bedroom, but that's not an ideal bedroom location. I figure I have time since baby will be in our room for the first few months anyway. I keep looking at houses, but I'm looking only in our elementary school zone and there is just nothing out there. We'll figure it out sometime in the next year.
6 weeks today. None yet.
2. How are you feeling?
Symptoms come and go. Peeing a lot for sure. Not a lot of appetite, which is strange for me since I love food. Some “hidden” nausea, but not really bad. Boobs definitely hurt and I’m pretty emotional.
3. When is your next appointment?
Sonogram 5/16.
4. Rants/Raves/Questions/Dear Diary:
I mentioned this elsewhere so disregard if you saw already, but I had my first appointment and blood draw on Friday. HCG came in at 2,455 (estimate 5+2). The doctor’s office called and said they like to see it at 5,000 before scheduling an ultrasound so I had to go back in yesterday and do another draw. So now I’m terrified even though I know that’s in normal range. No results yet.
GTKY: Have you already planned any nursery themes?
I’ve been on Pinterest, lol. I love light grays but most of our house is gray or blue. And I love a zoo animal theme!
I am 8 weeks today! This feels so huge to me!
2. How are you feeling?
I'm nervous about baby. Just want baby healthy and growing! I'm feeling dizzy and nauseous. I tend to feel the worst between like 5 and 8 each night.
3. When is your next appointment?
I have my 9 week ultrasound on this coming Tuesday the 8th! We saw the heartbeat last time but we get to hear it this time!!
4. Rants/Raves/Questions/Dear Diary:
I can't wait until I can announce my pregnancy! Also, I can't wait until my family knows the gender. We know and they are sure they know but over half of them are wrong and it's kind of driving me bonkers. My mom keeps saying granddaughter and she.
GTKY: Have you already planned any nursery themes?
Yes! Our baby is a boy and his name is Booker so we are doing a book themed nursery with blues and grays! I already ordered one of those fictional directional signs!
2. How are you feeling? Meh. Tired and bleh on and off. And v grumpy today.
3. When is your next FIRST! appointment? MONDAY! Looking forward to seeing if there actually is a growing behbeh in there. I mean, I'm sure there is. Right?
4. Rants/Raves/Questions/Dear Diary: Meh. "Dear Diary, why can't my husband shut the closet door when he's done changing the baby? I don't relish cleaning up a toy-splosion more than once a week."
GTKY: Have you already planned any nursery themes? "Sharing is Caring" or maybe "Closet Baby". Jk, jk. This one will be in a bassinet in my/the guest bedroom until he or she is ready to be stuck in the crib. The crib will go into the master closet, and I'll begin Phase 1 of turning A's room into the kid's room by putting up the Ikea toddler bunk I'm planning to get. I've also got my eye on a gorgeous Gathre playmat with a drawing of a world map on it. Right now you could call the room "Educational" and "Uncluttered".

As of Monday, Nugget was in the 90th percentile for weight and the 57th for height... still above average, but definitely falling off from the solid 99th percentile measurements she started at.
9 weeks (and 1 day since I’m a day late)
2. How are you feeling? mostly tired and little nauseous in the morning, and getting a stuffy nose when I lie down, but otherwise ok
3. When is your next appointment?
May 22nd I go for a NT scan and NIPT
4. Rants/Raves/Questions/Dear Diary:
I’m on vacation this week with DH and DD. It’s been great spending quality time together, but at the same time I feel like I can’t fully enjoy myself cause I’m nervous about this pregnancy (I was diagnosed with a subchorionic hemorrhage about a week ago and I’m still spotting) and I’m not feeling 100% myself.
GTKY: Have you already planned any nursery themes? We did a pink and gray nautical theme for DD so if this baby is a girl we’ll likely keep it the same. For a boy I’m thinking a blue and gray nautical theme (they might share a room so I want it to coordinate somewhat)
