Lupron Depot question

Hi ladies,
Has anyone had to take one 3.375mg injection of lupron depot before an FET cycle (like the week before stopping birth control pills) ? I just got my quote for it and ONE shot is $1200. I think it's used to make me not ovulate, but it practically takes a miracle to get me to ovulate at all, so really thinking about skipping this part of the protocol...
Any experiences with it? Thanks in advance!

7/14: Femara 5mg + brevelle + menopur + IUI --> converted to IVF, ER 7/28 --> ET cancelled due to severe OHSS.
9/20/14:  Frozen Embryo Transfer --> BFP--> EDD 6/6/15 --> MC at 5w3d  
10/16/14: Frozen Embryo Transfer --> BFN
2/6/15: Frozen Embryo Transfer --> BFP --> MC at 5w4d
3/20/16: PGS-tested Frozen Embryo Transfer --> BFP, Living Child born 12/1/15
6/6/17: Fresh IVF Cycle --> Severe OHSS, 5 PGS-tested embryos frozen
2/23/18: PGS-tested FET --> BFN
3/30/18: Cancelled cycle due to lining 4.2mm
6/21/18: PGS-tested FET --> BFN

    My doctor ordered one for me but I was really hesitant to take it since it has a crazy long half life and lots of scary side effects. I convinced her to let me do the micro-dose lupron daily for a month instead so that I could stop if needed (and it was A LOT cheaper). Thank goodness I did because I had side effects that affected my heart which were serious and the doctor pulled me off of it after only 2 days. I have read unofficial reports of young women dying within weeks of taking it due to heart attacks. There are no official warnings related to women that I could find, but Health Canada issued a warning a few years ago wrt to Lupron and an increase in serious heart-related side effects and death in men (Lupron is used for prostate cancer). Anyway, if you have the choice not to use it, I'd probably steer clear. I think a lot of people just trust their doctors without doing their own research and it seems fairly harmless when you see the amount of women on Lupron on these boards, but it's a medication that comes with a lot of risk. In depot form, it's usually used to treat endometriosis, so if you don't have any issues with endo, I'd talk to your doctor about trying a different protocol or substituting a different ovulation suppressant.

    Wow, thank you SO much for this information! I honestly hadn't thought beyond the cost of the drug and thinking it was ridiculous to pay $1200 for one shot. This is extremely helpful...will definitely try to get my Dr to do the cycle without it!
