hi there,
I’m 6 weeks and yesterday I had the scariest experience of my life. I was bleeding so badly I was surely convinced that I was having a miscarriage. Devastated, I called my doctor and headed straight to their office to be seen. Somehow, everything with the baby is fine (we even got to hear the heartbeat for the first time) but wow what a scare to hear about subchorionic bleeding. I didn’t know this was a possibility! I’m on doctored ordered “bed rest” for the rest of the week/weekend. Hoping that the situation clears itself and memoir pregnancy moves on without issue.
So scary. Anyone else experience this?

Ive had two. One with my daughter who is now 3. I was so scared the first bleeding incident I had... was on rest from 11-28 weeks. She came at 33 weeks but is thriving like you wouldn’t believe!
My last pregnancy ended late January of this year and I also had one. My OB has told me he’s pretty sure it had nothing to do with the S.H.
Let me know if you need more info. I would suggest lots of fluids and rest as much as possible. Hugs.
I started spotting slightly last Monday, but it went away very quickly. Had a sonogram on Wednesday where they found twins and a mild SCH. Doctor told me not to stress and to have a follow up scan this Friday.
Saturday I started spotting again and then bleeding. Freaking out I went straight to the ER where I had another sono. They could only find 1 baby and a low heart rate (68). I was dated at 6w0d but should have been 6w5d. Placed on pelvic and bed rest.
Followed up with my doctor on Monday, another scan, still 2 sacs but only 1 heartbeat (68 again), SCH gone, dated at 6w0d again (should have been 7 weeks). Doctor gave this pregnancy a 50/50 chance. He is not sure what is causing the spotting, but thinks it may be from the SCH. Still on pelvic and bed rest. Another scan Monday which should give us a better picture. Thankfully my HCG continues to rise appropriately. Praying Monday baby is on track and has a high heartbeat and maybe the second sac will have a baby too.
Sending positive vibes your way.
The dr i was first going to described it to me this way though. Imagine your baby as a stawberry in a bowl of jello. And the placenta as the jello. You can scoop a little jello off the top of the bowl without harming the strawberry inside.
Just be careful and take it easy and if it worries you feel free to go to ER for ultrasound. They can't deny you. Lord knows i was a frequent flyer throughout my pregnancy.
My doctor told me the baby looks completely fine today during my ultrasound so I feel relieved. He said the SCH could come back and I might still experience bleeding a few more times before it completely heals. I’m really just going to take it easy this week and again cross my fingers that it gets better. ❤️
Sunday just gone (6w) i went to the loo and wiped bright red blood, that night in the shower passed 2 decent clots. Convinced I was miscarrying again I went to bed and prepared myself for the bloodbath.. woke up Monday and nothing... went to the Dr and was sent for urgent scan. Saw teeny baby and a heartbeat which totally surprised us and Dr saw small SCH plus another pocket of fluid. She told me everything looked fine and sent me on my way. What an emotional roller coaster!! Was told to rest for the week. Now Wed and I've had minor light pink spotting when wiping a few times a day, doesn't make it to a liner, but no "bleeding" since. I am also doing acupuncture to support this pregnancy.
I hate the anxiety of wondering what you'll see everytime you go to the toilet. Hoping that rest and plenty of water helps shrink it and the rest of my pregnancy is as uneventful my first one!! (son now 2.5years old).
I've only had minor pregnancy symptoms; sore boobs for a few hours at a time, fleeting moments of nausea and watery mouth, but HCG levels are doing what they should. I would rather have violent morning sickness than deal with blood and the related anxiety everyday!! First successful pregnancy I had NO symptoms at all except fatigue between 7-10 weeks.
