Hello there I'm a total newbie. My husband and I is newlywed and TTC . I did a Abon Hcg test the other day and got 2 BFN. I think either I tested too soon ( 3 days late ) or I didn't follow the instruction precisely ( it was my first time doing a HPT oh well ) . I'm now waiting until next Monday when I'd be 10 days late to test again .
I just wanna ask how long does it take you to get a BFP and when? I feel like waiting is killing me while I have to keep enduring cramps and nausea and fatigue. I kinda want AF back ahhh

Although a quick note- there are many women on The Bump who have been ttc for many years on 1st Tri, TTGP, etc, or who have had losses. You may want to avoid pining for AF- it’s fairly insensitive to the struggles many people go through to conceive.

I'm sorry for being insensitive. Thank you for the kind note .

Yes, you can have a "late period". It's because your body is not a calendar. You can have a 28 day cycle one month, and a 38 day cycle the next. Your body will not ovulate on the same day every month. If you don't know what ovulation is, or you're unsure of how your reproductive system works - start doing some research. Taking Charge of Your Fertility is a great starting point, as are a bunch of other books out on the market.
[Actually, the entire pinned newbie post on the TTGP board has a WEALTH of information for anyone new to the science behind their reproductive system. I highly recommend it.]
The app you're using does nothing but track your period and base an "average" ovulation day off of that. It's not accurate. The ONLY ways to know when you've ovulated, or if you've ovulated at all, are to track your basal body temperature (again; do your research), use ovulation prediction kits (research), or get an ultrasound (not typical unless you're going through IF treatment). And it's going to be a combination of a couple of things to tell you if you've likely ovulated (BBT + CM; OPK + BBT, etc.). You can have a surge on an OPK and think you've ovulated when you in fact haven't. You can have a few days of being sick and have a surge in temp where you think you've ovulated, but you haven't.
You can also facilitate the tracking by checking your cervical mucus each day. (Again: research).
No one can tell you when/if you'll get a BFP. If you ovulated, typically you can get a BFP as early as 9-10 days post-ovulation (4-5 days pre-AF for a typical luteal phase). Many women don't get a noticeable positive until the day AF is due. However, if you were in fact 3+ days "late" for your period, you would have a very clear BFP by now. So, chances are, you ovulated late.
But again - this is with knowing when you ovulated, and therefore knowing when you should expect your period.
You, unfortunately, don't know when or if you even ovulated, and therefore don't know when to expect your period.
So, TL;DR because I have a feeling that's the case here --
No one can tell you when you would get a BFP.
No one's experience with getting a BFP is going to help you.
If you go 60 days without a period or a positive test, call your doctor to get your cycle jump started.
Get rid of "Flo", and get an app that actually tracks your cycles based on multiple signs, not just your period.
Do some research on your reproductive system.
Start tracking your cycles/ovulation to have an actual idea of when you can expect a possible BFP.
And in general - those of us trying to educate you and give you advice have not been in your boat because we know when we ovulated, know how long our luteal phases are, and know when to expect our periods. So we wouldn't claim a period is "late".

I have had this happen. I wasn't pregnant. My period was a week late (highly unusual for me), but I did ultimately get it. The month I did get pregnant, I turned a test the day my period was due.
