  • Happy weekend! What’s everyone got going on? We’re off to Costco so yeah, super fun times here. Plus we had a big storm roll through last night and one of our trees is looking like the drunk guy in the line up so DH is going to do some sort of something lol!

We are stuck inside due to snowpocolypse number 3. Had 11 inches of snow overnight and it is supposed to continue overnight into tomorrow. Looking to be 15+ inches by the time it's done. Where is Spring? Plus we didn't make it out to the store yesterday, so some experimenting in the kitchen today.

  • Oh man that SUCKS about the snow.

Yesterday and today its been close to 70 so the kids are living outside - love.it. Breaking out shorts and tees, so fun. My oldest has Boy Scouts later, so I’m trying to get laundry done etc inside while they aren’t causing destruction. Tonight we have a sitter and grownup dinner out for my moms bday.

tomorrow... high in the 30s. Yuck. I’m thinking target and baking cookies (I have old easter candy to use up so we’ll sort it and use instead of chips!)

words fail me how how excited I am god nice weather to STAY. Not looking like it in the 15 day forecast but eventually it’ll come.

  • We’re going to eat for my father in laws birthday this afternoon. It’s cold and rainy here. Yuk! I’m also ready for the good weather to stick!
  • I would lose my mind if it was snowing here. It’s 80 and sunny and gorgeous. It’s going to cool down overnight but at least it will still be in the 60s. And I scheduled a massage for tomorrow morning! I seriously can’t wait.
  • My oldest had a sleepover last night. So they could “work on a school project” and SO was up at 4
to get to work. I am so tired. Lol.
  • We had mommy/me swim lessons this morning—DS got to “level up” into the next class, but it’ll be a year and a half until he can do it without a parent in the water with him. I got ahead of myself and realized that in a year, he and this baby will be in swim lessons together, soooo I went ahead and bought her two swimsuits for next spring. On a somewhat related topic, has anyone gotten a spray tan while pregnant? We go to Florida in 3 weeks and I currently look like a bloated ghost.
  • I got a haircut for the first time in I don’t know how long. I feel sooooo much better.

  • I'm so tired. We had all you can eat crab legs at the casino buffet, and then gambled until 2am for my best friend's 39th birthday.  I mostly broke even. Down $125 including everything I spent on food and the room, so not bad. Just took a nap and now getting ready for the Heroes v. Villains bout tonight.

Quite a bit. My hair was really long and I’ve had it long for a really long time. It’s collar bone length now.

  • @lalala2004 love it! Is that your natural color? So pretty!

I’ve been kind of a ghost this weekend, DS is refusing naps and woke up at 5. So he’s been a total handful and we’re tired. Lurking and sending love though! <3

  • I’m so tired lately. Exhausted by 7:30 at night. I wasn’t this tired with my son until I was like 8 months pregnant.

  • I've been at dance workshops this weekend and got back late last night. It was super fun to see friends and hang out and dance a little. There were two shows, but I didn't perform - I've been taking a back seat on performing since getting pregnant since it's a pretty big time commitment. It was still amazing to watch though!!

Today is catch up day - laundry and cleaning and grocery shopping. Yuck. It's really nice outside here - I may go for a walk later. :)

    Happy tax day everyone!
  • We went and looked at the big old house yesterday morning. It's nice and in great shape for it's age, but I just think it's too big and needs too much work doing a bunch of little projects just to make it immediately livable for us, especially since ideally we're wanting to leave in a year's time and we can't sell it tax-free unless we own it for a couple of years first. So it'd have to be a decent rental property, and I don't think this type of place would be rentable to most folks. It'd still work if it came down to it, but I'm already hating the "work" keeping my current house up is requiring. It's hard to get stuff done when you're constantly needing to take a break! So it'd be a lot of little things to fix/update and I'm probably just going to get more useless as time goes on.

That said, the realtor is coming to look at our house on Monday morning. There's really not much for sale in our area right now, and she's got a waiting list of people looking for a "house in the country with acreage", so she thinks we'd have people fighting over it with offers. So we're trying to get it de-cluttered and cleaned up top to bottom right now. The whole first trimester was one, long nap for me and this god-awful never ending winter-ish weather is so not helping my lack of motivation. Having spent the past few months looking at pictures of houses for sale, I refuse for my house to look like one of those hoarders who farm vermin and don't own a vacuum. It's not THAT bad, but it's got a clutter problem as we've been emptying out the basement, closets, and spare rooms to play "Keep, Pitch, Sell".

Also I hadn't told my BFF about us looking at cheaper houses and thinking of selling our current "heaven on earth" one. I never thought I'd ever get to the point that I have to filter my activities to my BFF, but alas. She kept asking what we did yesterday not satisfied with my truthful half-answers, so I finally blurted it out. What was a chipper 45 minute conversation, which has been rare between us lately, immediately turned into her logging off Facebook and not talking to me since. I'm so sorry that my happy, functional marriage and happy, functional life is going places while yours is on the verge of collapse because of your infidelity and your lump-on-a-log husband who doesn't contribute anything to your relationship.

She actually blamed me last week for not being there for her when she needed me. I was there, but she never wanted to talk when I tried, so I gave up trying. I'm not going to play those "I'm going to make her show she really cares by making her jump through 50 hoops" games...especially when I've got my own drastically changing life to try to cope with on multiple fronts (family drama, moving, finances, health changes, the whole pregnancy thing). Plus I'm a big proponent of people working out their relationships on their own without their hand being held constantly. If you need help, that's what marriage counselors are for. She fucked her life up by marrying a lazy, lack-of-personality louse, I told her it was a bad idea at the time, so not my problem. Then she fucked her marriage up by cheating on him, I can't fix that either. I was trying to give her some space to learn how to deal with the shit storm she created on her own, as I can't always be there to pick up the pieces and glue them back together for her. Not to mention I am extremely tired of people always bitching about their situation yet never changing it. Consequently I'm the bad guy. So, yeah.

  • I CRASHED this weekend. It's been dark and stormy, so it was a good time to do it. FTM so I'm really soaking up the last days of sleep. (Sorry, mommas!) Also enjoying just laying here feeling her move finally (21 weeks). I felt a kick on the outside yesterday. It's such a great feeling it almost makes me forget how horrible the 1st trimester was. Also just had brunch with some girlfriends who were sweet enough not to judge me for getting two breakfasts and drinking entirely too much coffee. One of them brought me a gift of my first girlie baby clothes. I've just basically been on cloud 9 since my anatomy scan Tuesday.  o:)
  • @mrsbubbles-2 thank you! Yep, that’s all natural! I feel like it doesn’t look quite that dark in real life, though. It’s particularly lighter in the sun.

FFSC I am still wearing the same pajamas for the second day and I am on nap number 2. We have gotten 20 inches of snow so far and they are calling for another 4 to 8 by tomorrow afternoon. Schools are all closed and they are now shutting down businesses. 2 if the 3 Wal-Mart's in our area have closed because of the weather. Hoping that DH has a snow day tomorrow too and that it is better by the time our doctors appointment comes around. Anyone else in Wisconsin, stay safe!
  • Has anyone on mobile noticed that even though the AUGUST 2018 is gone at the bottom for us to click that the back button is working much better?
DS born 04/22/15, Pregnant again 03/01/17 however loss due to PPROM at 20+6 weeks now TTC rainbow
  • @shri929 my back button is working ok, but I still preferred the link for those times I'd get a couple pages deep after falling behind. You have to click back for each page you've gone. Sometimes I click the community link and then select August if I've gone too far down the rabbit hole.

My weekend has been pretty uneventful. I had a long afternoon nap yesterday while the girls played on their tablets and DH watched TV. I do wish it were more restful, like others have mentioned. I drank a big cup of lemonade right before laying down so I had to get up and pee every 30-45 minutes  :/

Otherwise, I've just been cleaning/decluttering - I think it's a mix of spring cleaning and nesting. I had a slight panic when I realized that it's just 4 months until baby arrives and there's so much I'd like to do and no energy to do it.
  • Hey Ladies, sounds like everyone had a decent weekend. We had a wedding yesterday. That’s two weddings in two weeks (that I wore the same dress to, different set of friends so no one was the wiser). We also have a 60th birthday party next weekend. I feel like we have been so busy with social functions that is has been tiring. We are supposed to close on the house in a few weeks so packing, cleaning and decluttering has been my new normal.

@derbysquirrel unlimited crab legs sound so good right now.
  • Back button is a bit better but not as it should be - doesn’t really ever work on the first try for me.

Im exhausted. I’ve been struggling most days which usually ends up with my just laying in bed or on the couch for hours and today I pushed through and did stuff all day, which ended with me so tied that I was in tears over not having tomato paste in the pantry for the meatloaf I just had made. And I’m so tired now I just can’t even

Everyone keeps freaking me out with all the tax stuff online today - bc it’s actuslly not tax day till Tuesday this year - ours are basically done but I have a few things to finish I’ve been putting off. Blah. I should plug some in now I suppose.

  • @pghctwife Also putting our taxes off. Probably till Tuesday. I actually did most of it a few wks ago and saw we owed $750, so I just walked (or rather, ran) away. I don't know if I think it's gonna magically change or what. This WILL NOT happen next year because we're not changing our deductions.  :s
  • Trying to look on the bright side with this cold weather. So much of my maternity clothes are winter clothes because DS is a May baby. I didn’t think I’d get as much use of them this time, but I guess I was wrong? But I’m definitely ready for the weather to make up it’s mind.

  • I'm glad my husband is the one who does our taxes, they've been done since the first week of February. He did have to take over the bill paying because I am way too scatterbrained these days. I was setting aside bills and they'd go past due. If I didn't have a calendar and reminders on my phone, I'd forget tons more stuff...which is very unlike me. I am the one who remembers the birthdays, anniversaries, appointments and the like, and to go to suddenly forgetting simple stuff to the point that HE notices is embarrassing. I'm feeling very uncomfortable with this whole "pregnancy brain" and I hope it gets better sometime. :[
  • I was MIA because of the mobile app not working for me and then in-laws were here and Saturday was DS's 5th birthday party. We had a beautiful 84 degree day and it was awesome and now it's been followed up with two pouring 55 degree days. I can't complain too much as I know most of you are still getting snow but can nice weather just stay?!
  • We are actually getting $ back lol. I did most of it ages ago but didn’t have two things and was putting off entering donations (clothes etc) bc pita. Oops.

Pregnancy plus kids and I’m def scattered too, it’s pretty frustrating,

  • I’m getting money back but I still don’t have them done. Which is pathetic because I just need to log in and hit send at this point. But here I am.
  • @lalala2004 DS is a May baby, too, so I'm the same way with maternity clothes! I'm happy I'm getting more use out of them than I expected, but also ready for mother nature to get it together!

  • Went to a game night with a new family in our neighborhood who invited us. We had so much fun! But I totally stressed about which game to bring and ultimately went with Pictionary, the safe bet. Anyone do regular game-nights with friends and if so, which games are most fun? Another couple brought Scattergories, which was what we ended up playing and it was a lot of fun!

  • @vinerie We're big fans of Euchre and Skip-Bo. Do those count? lol
  • I love catch phrase for a big group. And if you get to know them/their humor better, Taboo Midnight is the adult version of Taboo and it's a lot of fun.
  • @vinerie - Utter Nonsense is super fun but maybe once you get comfortable with them.  I'm bad, we play a lot of non-appropriate games with friends like Cards Against Humanity and What the Meme? haha
  • Cranium is a good and "appropriate for a group" game. It mixes elements of Pictionary, trivia, word games, and pop culture, so there's a little something for everyone. I also really like Scattegories.
