This is a place for those of us who have already started TTC, but have started infertility testing and/or treatments. You can express your thoughts, feelings, and frustrations on infertility. TTC can be a long journey naturally, then add in the difficulties associated with infertility, and it becomes a whole new ball game. The road to infertility can be lonely, frustrating, and complicated, so let's make this a place where we can vent, ask questions, and support one another. Feel free to resurrect this thread at any point in the week if you have something to say. Treat this as an ongoing conversation.
Diagnosis (if you've been):

GTKY: If you could have any superpower what would it be?

TTC#2 06/2021 planning FET
"Some days are diamonds, some days are rocks, some doors are open, some roads are blocked"
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): Benched, I guess. *TW* I think I finally stopped bleeding. Last time I had a loss, I bled from the loss, and then two weeks later got my period. I wonder if it all ran together and part of that was actual period? I dunno what I should expect. What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?):Right now we are just trying to decide what to do. We have the two embryos left, so we will transfer them both in May/June. But if that doesn't work out, or if it ends poorly (which to be honest, I 100% expect at this point), then we have some choice to make. We might do another ER, but we have to choose whether to use H's sperm or donor sperm, since that might be the issue. And then we have to decide whether to give my body another chance, or to put it in someone else, because why risk it in my body when it can't be trusted? Or maybe we get donor embryos, but then, again, do we use my body? Or a carrier? Or at that point should we say eff it and just stop trying. Maybe adopt or something. We have no explanations for the losses, just that everything always looks perfect, until it's not. I just feel so guilty about getting pregnant and it not working.
How are things going?: I guess I just word-vomited all over the place up there, but I dunno. Not the greatest. It just sucks all around. I don't want to play anymore. I'm just so, so tired. I'm sorry I haven't been the greatest support, or even receiver of support lately. I feel like I am drowning in my own sadness and fatigue.
GTKY: If you could have any superpower what would it be? My sulky, woe-is-me self says getting and staying pregnant, because right now that's the stuff of comic books and fairy tales. Shits not real.
In truth, can be invisibility.

@KristoKekerooni Girl, I honestly have nothing that I could say to really make you feel better. I'm sorry you're dealing with all of this. I'm sorry that those are decisions and thoughts that you might even need to have. Please don't feel guilty of what you think is enough on here - we're all here to support eachother when and how we can. Just know that we're all here for you and will do whatever we can in an attempt to make you even feel a little bit better. I really hope your next transfer is the one and you get all the take home babies
Diagnosis (if you've been): MFI - low count
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): ERA #2
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Well PIO starts again tonight...ugh. Good news is that my husband is only on night work Wed & Thurs so those are the only nights I really need to worry about timing and making sure he can stop home to do the shots! Biopsy will be 4/17 and hoping so hard that we get the green light to transfer next cycle.
How are things going?: I'm ok. I go between thinking there's no way this will work on my first FET, that would be "too easy" to thinking girl - stims and an ER and at least two mock cycles by the time we do the actual transfer is NOT easy. So I'm trying to be hopeful. We already learned that a transfer last cycle would have been bad timing and wouldn't have worked...we're doing this to give that little embryo the best chance possible to stick. So anxious and worried but thankful.
Any questions?: Nada!
GTKY: If you could have any superpower what would it be? Teleportation. I'd love to see all the things around the world but flying scares the living hell out of me
@KristoKekerooni I'm so sorry you find yourself having to even think of these choices. It is absolutely okay for you to feel all these feelings and to feel lost in the face of your loss. It sucks to lose that hope and feel like you know the outcome before you even get started again. It can be so hard to feel like it's not your fault, even when you know you did everything you could to make it right. We are here for you, even if there are no words to make any of this better. @50Wife I'll definitely be stalking through next week to see how PIO and the biopsy go!

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW I think, but FF is not entirely sure which day
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Trying on our own and waiting to get protocol for next IVF cycle!
How are things going?: I was going to say meh. But actually ok. I can see my ovulation getting weaker each cycle and cycles more and more irregular, so I just want to get these next three ERs done as fast as possible before my ovaries go into retirement. I’m pleased we have the green light to stim with next cycle, but I’m nervous how it will turn out. That my response will be even worse than before. That we’ll go through three more cycles with no normal embies to show for it. In other news I still have to write my thesis, today I was back to work and DH tried to deep fry his Crown Jewels yesterday... life is not dull!
Any questions?: Nope.
GTKY: If you could have any superpower what would it be? I think I would go with @KristoKekerooni
@50wife It’s so difficult to think that this is all necessary, but whatever the outcome when you transfer you will know you did everything possible. Fx the PIO shots go smoothly this week - do you have it in sesame or olive oil? I heard the live is more expensive but gives less irritation.
@kristokekerooni my heart breaks for you. As @alohakumu said you did everything you could. If there is any help you need please just say.
@alohakumu also hugs to you. I know you don’t have the easiest time at the moment either.

@KristoKekerooni I'm so sorry for everything you're going through. I think one of the things that is hardest about IF is that we work so hard to do everything "right" and things still don't work out. I'm sorry you're facing such tough decisions. I hope that you and YH can be there for each other, and you know we're all here to provide whatever support we can. Sending so many hugs your way. @50Wife I have my fingers crossed so hard that all goes well at your biopsy! Nothing about what you've been through is easy, and I am so hopeful that that first FET will be all it takes! @emmasemm Fx your ovaries respond well to the new protocol! Do you know yet what they'll have you taking? Also, tell me more about this deep frying incident with YH. What happened?!? -------------------------------------------
Diagnosis (if you've been): unexplained, AMA
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Trying on our own
How are things going?: On the whole, pretty well. Getting good news on MHs tests (repeat SA and penetration assay) has made me unreasonably hopeful for this cycle though. Logically I realize that getting good lab results this cycle doesn't mean the sperm are any different than they've been for the past year, but so little of this is logical. I need to get past the hope and contact the RE to put in my prescription for the next IUI cycle though, and I'm finding that hard to do. It feels like an admission of (yet another) defeat. *tw birth announcement*
I had a pretty rough weekend emotionally after finding out that my SIL gave birth to their second baby on Friday. I also don't like their name choice and am feeling unreasonably annoyed that they have the privilege of having a baby and didn't even name it properly. Like I said above, I'm not very logical lately.
Any questions?: Nothing right now.
GTKY: If you could have any superpower what would it be? Telekinesis would be pretty awesome...
@darkstar42 I get the full protocol next week. But it’s supposed to be everything and the kitchen sink. I think the meds will cost more than the actual IVF itself...
And for the deep frying incident check Sunday’s WTO. I was closest to killing him - the last thing we need is his meat and two veg out of action! Needless to say we will also be freezing some sperm when he makes his deposit this time!!!

@KristoKekerooni You've been so supportive the whole time you've been on TB, and it just kills me that I don't have anything good enough to say to support you. I will commiserate with your feelings of "this will just never work." I'm so demoralized by all the failure, and taking a break felt so good, that a good part of me is just ready to say fuck it and stop trying right now. This shit is overwhelming and burns you right the fuck out. I just want to give you all the hugs.
@AlohaKumu I just want to give you all the hugs, too.
@darkstar42 and @emmasemm Yay for your good news! Hang on to the little bit of it that you get in IF.
AFM:
Diagnosis: Old. And bitter. Super bitter. Also, using OH's frozen sperm since he is currently on testosterone replacement and is probably shooting blanks now.
Status: TTC break/WFAF
What are you doing: This past cycle, not much. Took my temp a couple of times around suspected O so that I could time progesterone supplementation so that I wouldn't get my period while family was in town, and that was about it. **TW for general kid discussion** Took a lovely break for DSS's spring break and visits from my in-laws just before and through Easter, then my parents and one of my sisters and her three kids starting Monday. Took DSS for his first and second hikes, which was just pure joy for me. It was so nice not thinking about TTC, especially when my SIL has a 6 month old and my sister has an 11 month old. But I'm feeling more like my bitter TTC self now that everyone is headed home and I had a BFN yesterday morning that confirmed that we did not in fact create a miracle baby. **End TW**
How is it going: Well, I'm starting to think about my next cycle and how I'm dreading starting to temp again and worrying about when O is coming so that I can inseminate vials of sperm that we are almost out of. I'm also completely bummed because not only did we not get a fat tax refund to finance a Hail Mary medicated IUI with, but we owe over $1900. Fuck. So the break was truly a break and I enjoyed it, but coming back to reality sucks donkey balls. ETA this meme:
GTKY: I'd love to have the ability to time travel. I've always said I wouldn't change the past if I could, but these days, I'd go back and freeze a shit ton of my eggs so that we wouldn't be in this godforsaken mess. Also, I agree with @50wife that teleportation would be awesome.
Me: 45 OH: 42 Beloved SS: born 12/2011 TTC my bio #1/our #2 since January 2016 **TW** June 2016 had CP **end TW** August 2016 - dx with DOR Somewhere in here received recommendation to do IVF with donor eggs, elected not to; OH dx with Low T May 2017 - began freezing sperm June 2017 - OH began treatment for Low T July 2017 - began doing 1 IUI via a midwife and 1 at home insemination each cycle http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/6259ba July 2018 - exhausted frozen sperm, officially NTNP since OH is probably shooting blanks
@emmasemm I hope these next few cycles are your best cycles yet!! That's a lot of stimming and ERs, you got this girl! @darkstar42 Not an admission of defeat - it's being a strong ass woman and doing whatever you need to do in order to get that baby because none of this is easy. I'm glad that your husbands test results came back looking good! @Aurora1973 Well F and F. I'm sorry about your BFN and the taxes...wtf?! I'm glad you had a nice break with family though! @purplg8r Wahoo TWW! Good luck!!!!! And no - I didn't need to do any of my own shots, thank God!
AFM - PIO shot #1 for round 2 is in the books! 1 down, 7 to go!
@KristoKekerooni I'm so heartbroken for you. You've been such a support to so many for so long and this just sucks. You are in such a difficult spot emotionally and I know you have a lot of choices/decisions, but please take the time to care for yourself. Loss is difficult, it is unfair and crushing. not that you need permission, but it is okay to grieve, experience it, be angry, be sad. You don't have to be anything for anyone. You did everything in your power. If you need anything, please know we are here. @50Wife Yes! one shot down! @emmasemm okay is better than meh, so it is a win. I'm glad you have a plan to move forward. How much of your thesis is remaining? @darkstar42 great news about the test results. you're right with unexplained there are so few answers, nothing is logical, so take the wins when they come. will you do the same protocol this IUI? @Aurora1973 glad the break was enjoyable, for me a break gave me back some of the hope because you're right the reality of a situation can really just suck the fun out of it. Love the meme. @purplg8r any plans to keep yourself busy/distracted this TWW?

@aurora1973 oh that’s all you need - to owe taxes on top of IF. Reality truly sucks.
@purplg8r well if things go to plan we will do them truly back to back with only the time until AF comes naturally in between! In my past cycles with progesterone supplementation this was my normal 14 day LP. But if we don’t I guess it could be a short as a week. If my estrogen or FSH is too high on CD3 we may skip a cycle and wait for the next one.
@50wife yep, that will definitely be a lot of stimming. But I’m not the first nor will I be the last. I know @dragonette505 has done back to back banking cycles too. Plus some of the other low AMH ladies.

@50Wife hoping so much that this ERA is perfect and you’re moving right along!!!
@emmasemm any possible idea of what type of protocol? I’m super curious!
@aurora1973 hi friend! is it the monitoring that would make the medicated cycle expensive? Just asking because I have no IF coverage and clomid/letrozole is super cheap. If you’ve done the IUIs before was it the costs of meds that held you up?
@Avrilmai GL this cycle!!! Have you ever had your AMH checked before?

@Avrilmai I hope your week is going a bit better. Any ideas how long your results will take for your bloodwork?
@beachbunnyxo123 Girl I've got my fingers crossed so hard for you and this cycle!! I'm going to be anxiously stalking you all month. In the least creepiest way possible
@beachbunnyxo123No I have not seen the protocol yet. But we discussed most likely do another antagonist protocol - but with higher FSH stims, higher trigger, add HGH, Intralipids, steroids, baby aspirin or lovenox. He might change some doses already based on my CD3 baseline BW (or cancel if it’s really bad). I guess with your timing we should be roughly together - maybe you are a few days ahead of me.

@KristoKekerooni I'm so sorry you keep ending up back on this board and continuing to deal with all this IF crap. I am truly hoping your next transfer is it for you. Choosing to use donor sperm was one of the hardest decisions we've ever had to make - I truly hope that it does not have to come down to that for you. Does your RE think YH sperm is a part of the equation at all or is it 100% unexplained? @50Wife One PIO shot down..! GL at the biopsy next week, hoping you get the go ahead for next cycle @emmasemm soo much stimming! I'm gonna hop over to the WTO thread and read this deep fryer story lol @darkstar42 None of the logic, all of the emotions. I'm with you 100% @purplg8r wooo TWW! FX for you @Avrilmai Sorry this week started out crap for you, but at least we're in this craptastic week together. When do you usually O? Ladies please correct me if I'm not allowed to post this here - again I truly apologize for my post a last week with questions about false positives. I really am not trying to trigger anyone, but also have no other place to ask these questions because no one IRL knows what's going on for us and feel silly bothering my RE with every little thing (I know that's what they're there for but still). Anyways, it wasn't a false positive but turned out to be a CP. Loss was confirmed with repeat bloods this morning. So pretty bummed because after 19 months of trying and seeing two lines I was cautiously optimistic, only to have it fall apart. But also looking forward to giving it another shot.
Any questions?: We are only doing 2 IUI's before moving to IVF, so if this one works that's fantastic yay but if not I'm going to have alot of questions on here next cycle...
GTKY: If you could have any superpower what would it be? Telekenisis for sure. Mostly just to mess with people, but also because I am lazy.
@beachbunnyxo123 hope things go well today. I think knowing the future would make me so anxious! @leilee101 craptastic is exactly how I described this week when I was journaling Monday night. it has not gotten much better. got my amh results, much earlier than expected, I fall into the very low category. this was the first time i've had it tested. I'm regretting not pushing for it when I did all of the other lab work.

I know you mean well girl and I am so so sorry to hear about your loss. However, the situation you stated is partially one of the exact reasons why those types of questions aren't allowed to be posted in everyday threads. I know you immediately took it down and apologized which was the correct action.
Unfortunately, I really don't have any advise on who to contact/where to to ask about those questions other than, that IS what your RE is there for. It is their jobs to be answer those questions. Whether you feel like you're being a pest or it's a dumb question or whatever, you are spending far too much $ to not ask them those questions. Otherwise, maybe posting, "hey I have a potentially TW/sensitive question who wouldn't mind me PMing about it"? Or even posting it on the 1st Trimester board possibly.
Again, I am so sorry *hugs* I hope things go perfectly next time, but you HAVE to think about what you're posting and how it will come across to others. Especially seeing as you just essentially posted "oh... that positive hpt that I insisted wasn't... actually was, but it didn't stick so it's nbd, where can I ask those questions next time?" <--I know that's NOT what you intend it to read as and it breaks my heart that it didn't end in a sticky bean, but how do you think that comes across to all the ladies struggling here?

@beachbunnyxo123 Hi friend!! I'm so excited you get to do another round of IVF. FX this is it I do have some IF coverage...they cover 50% of medically necessary IF treatment except for IVF, which they cover zero. Both the RE's I have seen have quoted the cost at over $1200 for medicated IUI, meaning it would cost us at least $600. That's really not terrible, but considering that it probably doesn't increase our odds much and is more to make me feel like I'm doing something, plus all the costs we had last year for acu, sperm freezing, testing, and unmedicated IUI, OH is feeling fatigued by it. I had really hoped our tax situation would be good, but it looks like his employer wasn't taking out enough on his end. Boo. Still, we have 8 vials of sperm left, and I took a break that saved us in acu costs, so I'm hoping that in a couple of cycles I can talk him into it...
I'm so very sorry to hear about your loss. I know it's confusing with a CP...and heartbreaking. I've been there myself. I agree that this is a conversation you should have with your RE. You don't want to wait and potentially have another loss if the RE can offer you any kind of answers. Hugs to you.

@Avrilmai I’m so sorry to hear that. Don’t blame yourself for not pushing it. This whole process is so overwhelming and it’s the treatment team who are responsible for leading the way. I hope that you and YH are able to decide what’s best for your family. Hugs
@Aurora1973 Are they quoting you for injectables? That could definitely be over $1k. And $600 is a lot of money! I completely understand why that could be an issue. I was more so curious what was making the cycle cost so much. Let us know what you decide!
AFM my BW today came back good so I started my estrace tonight and just got done with my ganirellix (actually cetrotide since it’s cheaper) injection. Even though it was only 3 months ago that I did this and I already kinda forgot. The cetrotide you have to mix with a dilutent and it took me a sec to remember. Anyhow, all good. Injections for two more days then estrace till AF and off to stims I go.
@50Wife Thanks. It’s hard not to feel defeated in all of
this.
@Avrilmai We’ll do a different protocol for the next IUI.
Clomid instead of letrozole, and doubling the dose for the ovidrel trigger. So
sorry for the crappy AMH news. Have you had a chance to talk to your RE about
it yet?
@beachbunnyxo123 I’m so pleased you’re able to do another
cycle, and I’ve got my fingers crossed so hard for you!
@leilee101 I’m so sorry for your loss. Hoping for this next
IUI to be the one for you!
AFM, we’ve decided to try one more month on our own before
doing IUI #4. My teaching schedule right now would make appointments
challenging, and I really can’t cancel classes. Pushing it out another cycle
will mean the semester is over and I can go to all the doctor appointments I
want. My temps have been dropping the last couple of days, so I assume AF is on
her way. Just in time for our anniversary. Ugh.
@beachbunnyxo123 idk why I said good luck in TWW yesterday, I just re-read your post and seeing that you're gearing up for a second cycle! Sorry about that.. and good luck!! Glad your blood work looked good @darkstar42 sorry you have to wait another month but it sounds like it's for the best. Stressing out about appointments and timing is tough. My work doesn't know about any of this so who knows what they think with all my tardys and random sick days
Thanks for the love ladies, @Aurora1973 you're right about it being super confusing. In a strange turn of events: I was harassing my insurance company to make sure to get the IUI authorization in by tomorrow so I don't have to wait until next month (already on CD4), and apparently they called my clinic and said they "made a mistake" with their previous requirement of two IUIs and are approving IVF?? So they've apparently authorized me to start my first IVF cycle now, my nurse called in birth control pills to my pharmacy already and told me to start taking them today. This was definitely a total turn of events but I guess I'm rolling with it..
Hi friends! I
thought I’d join back in here after a hiatus.
@KristoKekerooni I am so so sorry you’re going
through this. My heart broke for you
when I saw your news. As far as giving
support, if you’re not able to give right now, we all understand and will not
think any less of you; you need to do what’s right for you and your mental
state. If that means posting and
ghosting more often than not, so be it.
We will be here for you when you get back.
@50Wife I’ve been lurking your updates and while I’m
sorry that you have to do a second mock cycle, I’m also happy they did the
first one so that you know they’re giving your embie the best chance
possible! I hope this is the last one
and the next cycle you can move forward with the FET!
@emmasemm I hope the new protocol works for you
and you have several little embies to bank for future LOs!
@darkstar42 Hugs friend. I know how tough this whole process can be
and I hear you on so little of this being logical. We keep telling ourselves that this has to be
our month for such silly little reasons.
I hope this one cycle is just the break you need before moving forward
with further treatment.
@Aurora1973 I’m so happy your break has been so
lovely. Sometimes it’s so nice to spend
that time with family. As for the tax
bill, ours isn’t near yours but still a surprise when we found out we owe
$800. WTF government and to DHs employer
for not taking enough out!
@purplg8r I hope this is your cycle and you are
able to take care of yourself during this TWW
@Avrilmai I’m sorry you didn’t get the news you
were hoping for on your AMH levels. It
is definitely quite a blow to get that kind of new. Hugs friend, I hope you have something nice
planned to take care of yourself after that news!
@beachbunnyxo123 I’m keeping my fingers crossed so
damn hard for you this cycle! Good luck
friend!!
@leilee101 I’m so sorry you had to go through
that. I agree with the others that your
RE is there for you to ask all of the stupid little questions; after all, that’s
why they get paid the big bucks! Also, I’m
so glad they got the authorization to move forward with IVF, I’m sure it was a
very welcome surprise!

How are things going?: They’ve been a
little up and down over the past few months.
I stepped away from this thread because we decided to try naturally
while we save up for an IUI and it was tough to see all my friends move forward
with treatment while I’m in such a static place. After some conversation and re-evaluation of
finances, we decided we’re going to move forward with an IUI with my cycle in
July. In the meantime, I increased my HSA
contribution and am trying to squirrel away every extra money I can.

@50Wife it most certainly is spinning.. like what just happened @KristoKekerooni not nosey at all! So it's a few reasons, one being the higher success rates, but the main one is our limited number of donor sperm vials. Picking out a donor was such a draining process, we really do not want to go through that again if we can avoid it. We bought five and already used one, and while our donor is expected to have more available this summer, it's never a guarantee. It sucks having to plan ahead literally years in advance (anticipating futures LOs). And then this last experience just adds to it, I don't really know much about IVF yet, but my basic understanding is they grade the embryos to give them the highest success rate to avoid situations like the one we just had. Of course it never eliminates the risk, but any way to diminish that risk even slightly so seems worth it to me. I also want to explore PGS testing to see if that's a step we could take.
sorry I was kind of a P&G. @darkstar42 & @RVAmom315 my RE is of the opinion that since my FSH was okay and I still O monthly that we will go forward with the IUI this cycle. if this one isn't successful then DH and I will have a full discussion with her about doing a 3rd IUI or moving to IVF. @lulu1180 Hi friend! thanks, I allowed myself some time to wallow (skipped the gym, went home watch old TV shows, and drank some sangria) Now I'm trying to get back to focusing on the here and now since this new cycle is starting. @beachbunnyxo123 thanks lady.

@KristoKekerooni, ugh, I don't think I can say anything that hasn't already been said, but I'm so sorry you're facing all these agonizing decisions. I'm so angry and sad on your behalf. Don't worry about not feeling up to giving support right now, we all completely understand.
@50Wife, I'm glad that these mock cycles have given your RE such good information. I'm impatient along with you for you to get to finally do your transfer, though! I'll be thinking good thoughts next week for you to get that green light.
@emmasemm, even though I'm still on my first cycle I already get the mixture of excitement that you're finally going ahead with the cycle and anxiety that it won't turn out well. IF is just so emotionally grueling. I hope the new protocol turns out well for you! (And I'll be curious to hear details about it!)
@darkstar42, sorry about the rough weekend. I get a little angry at birth announcements now too, and yes, especially if they've named their baby something dumb!
@Aurora1973, I feel your pain on the taxes, we ended up owing a lot of money too. I'm happy you got a nice break from thinking about TTC, though. I'm trying to get out to Seattle to visit my brother soon and am really hoping to do some hiking out there that should be a nice break from all this stress.
@purplg8r, FX for this IUI to be it for you so you don't have to move ahead with IVF!
@leilee101, I'm so sorry to see your update and can only imagine how heartbreaking that must have been for you. And wow at moving so quickly into IVF! I'm surprised they're throwing you straight into an IVF cycle without more time to adjust to the idea, but I'm glad you're feeling okay about it.
@AvrilMai, booooo, I hate that you're joining the "low AMH" club. I remember from getting that news myself how overwhelming it felt. FX the IUI gets it done for you so you don't have to face that tough IVF decision.
@lulu1180, I'm so happy to see you posting again and to hear that you're ready to move ahead with treatment. I'm already sending lots of good energy your way for success in July!
Diagnosis (if you've been): Dual factor: Low AMH, severe oligospermia
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): Stims portion of IVF - currently doing three vials of Menopur twice a day
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): We are in the middle of stims and I have my first post-baseline ultrasound and BW appointment tomorrow to see how things are going. We're hoping to do the egg retrieval on 4/19 or shortly thereafter.
How are things going?: Well, those who read my update last week will know that I have been under a tremendous amount of stress following a death in my family (I'm going to try not to discuss the death itself too much more here since I don't want to trigger anyone who may also be grieving.) I'm not feeling super optimistic about this cycle since I haven't really been doing any of the things you would hope to do during an IVF cycle--my diet's been awful, I haven't gotten much exercise, and I'm experiencing profound grief and stress that are definitely taking a toll on my body. So I'm more than a little nervous about tomorrow's appointment! FX for some miraculously tough follicles, I guess. Honestly everything else is so overwhelming right now that IVF has been perpetually pushed to the back of my mind, but I'm guessing that will rapidly change as we get closer to our planned ER date.
Any questions?: Has anyone else experienced a near constant headache on Menopur? I can't tell if it's just the stress or if it's a side effect of the drugs.
GTKY: If you could have any superpower what would it be? : I would love to be able to time travel (secure in knowing I couldn't alter the flow of history, so I wouldn't have to worry about erasing my own existence!). I'm a huge history buff and there are a million places I'd love to go check out.
@Augusta108 Are you only taking menopur? No follistim or gonal f? Headaches are common side effect. As far as the exercise, I wouldn’t worry about it. You shouldn’t exercise during stims anyway because of the risk of ovarian torsion. Once you get towards the end of stims you’ll feel uncomfortable as well. I tried walking a few days but eventually I didn’t even want to do that. Don’t beat yourself up, the process is super stressful enough and I’m so sorry you’re dealing with such a tragic loss on top of it. I hope everything goes well at monitoring tomorrow. Keep us posted.
@Augusta108 Thanks girl. I'm so sorry for the news you got last week. I hope that there are some of the toughest follies ever that show up for your appointment today! I'm cheering your follies on from the sidelines here! (man the weird things we say dealing with IF )
@beachbunnyxo123 Hi friend! It's nice to be back! And also nice to not feel like such a creepy lurker any more lol
@Avrilmai As strange as this may sound, I'm glad you were able to wallow for a bit but also glad you were able to move on. I know that news feels like a punch to the gut, but we'll all figure it out and get through this!

@beachbunnyxo123, thank you. Yep, they only have me on Menopur. Hopefully it’s getting the job done by itself! Thanks for the reassurance about exercise. I am starting to feel slightly uncomfortable, but I’ve also spent so much time indoors recently that I’d love to get out for a short walk or something. Maybe I’ll just plan on it being a very short walk!
@Augusta108 Sending you all the hugs and good vibes, friend. I hope that your body has been doing its thing while your mind is otherwise occupied. I'm so sorry you're going through such a hard time. FX for great monitoring results.

@Augusta108 I'm so sorry for all of the stress you're going through. I hope you have rockstar follies to at least brighten your mood a bit that things are moving in the right direction. How's the shot itself for you? I hated menopur the most!!
Just got done with my monitoring appointment and I have 5 follicles on each ovary! I know a lot can still go wrong, but I’m excited that we at least have 10 as of now. That’s definitely more than I expected given my AMH number. Now I just need them to grow...
@50Wife, the shots really haven’t been too bad so far, though my stomach is definitely getting a bit tender and I have a few small bruises. The hardest part has probably been how emotional DH gets about them...he really hates seeing me hurt in any way!
Re: IF Testing and Treatment week of 4/9/18
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): Benched, I guess. *TW* I think I finally stopped bleeding. Last time I had a loss, I bled from the loss, and then two weeks later got my period. I wonder if it all ran together and part of that was actual period? I dunno what I should expect.
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Right now we are just trying to decide what to do.

ER#2 ~Jan 2019
I'd love to see all the things around the world but flying scares the living hell out of me
@50Wife I'll definitely be stalking through next week to see how PIO and the biopsy go!

Any questions?: Nothing right now.
GTKY: If you could have any superpower what would it be? Telekinesis would be pretty awesome...
And for the deep frying incident check Sunday’s WTO.
I was closest to killing him - the last thing we need is his meat and two veg out of action! Needless to say we will also be freezing some sperm when he makes his deposit this time!!!

@50Wife did you have to do any of your own PIO shots last time?
@emmasemm if you do 3 ERs in a row, about how long is there in between each one?
@darkstar42 yay for the good news about your H...but the sentence about the mishap—yikes!
@Aurora1973 ugh. I’m sorry about the bfn. And I seriously hate how much this all costs. It sucks

How are things going?: they’re going
Any questions?:
GTKY: If you could have any superpower what would it be? Hmm. I was thinking flying. But then I read @50wife response and agree about teleportation
@purplg8r Wahoo TWW! Good luck!!!!!
And no - I didn't need to do any of my own shots, thank God!
AFM - PIO shot #1 for round 2 is in the books! 1 down, 7 to go!
@50Wife Yes! one shot down!
AFM,
Diagnosis (if you've been): unexplained

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): IUI #2, also had AMH blood draw yesterday

Any questions?:
GTKY: If you could have any superpower what would it be? (I apologize for this kinda lame gtky, i couldn't think of anything fresh/new so I went with a classic.) I used to say invisible, but I too like @50wife 's teleportation idea.

"Some days are diamonds, some days are rocks,
some doors are open, some roads are blocked"
@purplg8r well if things go to plan we will do them truly back to back with only the time until AF comes naturally in between! In my past cycles with progesterone supplementation this was my normal 14 day LP. But if we don’t I guess it could be a short as a week. If my estrogen or FSH is too high on CD3 we may skip a cycle and wait for the next one.
@50wife yep, that will definitely be a lot of stimming. But I’m not the first nor will I be the last. I know @dragonette505 has done back to back banking cycles too. Plus some of the other low AMH ladies.
@avrilmai ummm, too much? Ask me next week... DH is working on a go live on Saturday so I have a whole day to focus on getting pages written!

@purplg8r hope this IUI is the one for you!

How are things going?:
Things are going well. I feel blessed that we were able to do IVF again despite no insurance coverage. Looking forward to moving forward and praying for a good outcome!
Any questions?:
Nope

@leilee101 craptastic is exactly how I described this week when I was journaling Monday night. it has not gotten much better.
got my amh results, much earlier than expected, I fall into the very low category. this was the first time i've had it tested. I'm regretting not pushing for it when I did all of the other lab work.

@Aurora1973 So sorry about the tax situation. MH and I were in a similar boat this year. Not fun to have an unexpected expense like that.
@purplg8r Fx for this IUI!
@50Wife Thanks. It’s hard not to feel defeated in all of this.
@Avrilmai We’ll do a different protocol for the next IUI. Clomid instead of letrozole, and doubling the dose for the ovidrel trigger. So sorry for the crappy AMH news. Have you had a chance to talk to your RE about it yet?
@beachbunnyxo123 I’m so pleased you’re able to do another cycle, and I’ve got my fingers crossed so hard for you!
@leilee101 I’m so sorry for your loss. Hoping for this next IUI to be the one for you!
AFM, we’ve decided to try one more month on our own before doing IUI #4. My teaching schedule right now would make appointments challenging, and I really can’t cancel classes. Pushing it out another cycle will mean the semester is over and I can go to all the doctor appointments I want. My temps have been dropping the last couple of days, so I assume AF is on her way. Just in time for our anniversary. Ugh.
@darkstar42 sorry you have to wait another month but it sounds like it's for the best.
Hi friends! I thought I’d join back in here after a hiatus.
@KristoKekerooni I am so so sorry you’re going through this. My heart broke for you when I saw your news. As far as giving support, if you’re not able to give right now, we all understand and will not think any less of you; you need to do what’s right for you and your mental state. If that means posting and ghosting more often than not, so be it. We will be here for you when you get back.
@50Wife I’ve been lurking your updates and while I’m sorry that you have to do a second mock cycle, I’m also happy they did the first one so that you know they’re giving your embie the best chance possible! I hope this is the last one and the next cycle you can move forward with the FET!
@emmasemm I hope the new protocol works for you and you have several little embies to bank for future LOs!
@darkstar42 Hugs friend. I know how tough this whole process can be and I hear you on so little of this being logical. We keep telling ourselves that this has to be our month for such silly little reasons. I hope this one cycle is just the break you need before moving forward with further treatment.
@Aurora1973 I’m so happy your break has been so lovely. Sometimes it’s so nice to spend that time with family. As for the tax bill, ours isn’t near yours but still a surprise when we found out we owe $800. WTF government and to DHs employer for not taking enough out!
@purplg8r I hope this is your cycle and you are able to take care of yourself during this TWW
@Avrilmai I’m sorry you didn’t get the news you were hoping for on your AMH levels. It is definitely quite a blow to get that kind of new. Hugs friend, I hope you have something nice planned to take care of yourself after that news!
@beachbunnyxo123 I’m keeping my fingers crossed so damn hard for you this cycle! Good luck friend!!
@leilee101 I’m so sorry you had to go through that. I agree with the others that your RE is there for you to ask all of the stupid little questions; after all, that’s why they get paid the big bucks! Also, I’m so glad they got the authorization to move forward with IVF, I’m sure it was a very welcome surprise!

How are things going?: They’ve been a little up and down over the past few months. I stepped away from this thread because we decided to try naturally while we save up for an IUI and it was tough to see all my friends move forward with treatment while I’m in such a static place. After some conversation and re-evaluation of finances, we decided we’re going to move forward with an IUI with my cycle in July. In the meantime, I increased my HSA contribution and am trying to squirrel away every extra money I can.
Any questions?: nope

@KristoKekerooni not nosey at all!

@beachbunnyxo123, I'm thinking good thoughts for IVF Cycle #2!
I'm a huge history buff and there are a million places I'd love to go check out.
glad to see you back here girl!
Edit- monitoring not minitingde haha
@beachbunnyxo123 Hi friend! It's nice to be back! And also nice to not feel like such a creepy lurker any more lol
@Avrilmai As strange as this may sound, I'm glad you were able to wallow for a bit but also glad you were able to move on. I know that news feels like a punch to the gut, but we'll all figure it out and get through this!

@50Wife, the shots really haven’t been too bad so far, though my stomach is definitely getting a bit tender and I have a few small bruises. The hardest part has probably been how emotional DH gets about them...he really hates seeing me hurt in any way!
