  • @harleyquinn0621 YAY for making it this far!! Keep it up!

    How far along are you?
    23w1d

    Why are you high-risk?
    Alphabet soup.

Any additional monitoring or testing this week?
Nope. Starting on the 27th I have monthly dildo-cam exams to check the cervix though.

    Rants/Raves/Questions?
Nothing baby related. Just work drama form people who can't figure out they aren't the boss and to mind their own damn business.

GTKY: What is your biggest pet peeve?
I have 2, depending on if I'm home or at work.
Home: When H makes us late to something. I'll get myself and the kids ready for church and wake him up an hour before we need to leave. All he has to do is get dressed, yet he can't manage that in an hour.
Work: When students interrupt while I'm giving instruction that will answer their questions. Example: 'Today we are' "teacher, what are we doing today? Why are we doing that? Whats your favorite time of the day?'  'making our fossil books. Here are your rubrics.'

  • How far along are you? 20+2

Why are you high-risk? AMA, GD, previous miscarriage, previous history of hypertension

Any additional monitoring or testing this week? I'm currently sitting in the waiting room for the first of two appointments today. Both are just routine follow up with OB and MFM.

    Rants/Raves/Questions? Can't think of any.

GTKY: What is your biggest pet peeve? Today...slow and incompetent drivers. Don't you dare come to a complete stop on the ramp merging onto the interstate, speed up and merge! FFS
  • How far along are you? 21+4

Why are you high-risk? Diabetes and AMA

Any additional monitoring or testing this week? Nope! I'm free and clear until May 4th. Although I really really need to send my numbers to my diabetes team, they're going to send me a yelling email soon.

Rants/Raves/Questions? Nothing really! Lots of kicks this week which is awesome and I think baby is pressed against my bladder right now because I literally always have to pee. Even if we're in the car for like 20 min I'm like 'are we there yet, I have to pee' lol! Pregnancy is so glamourous!

GTKY: What is your biggest pet peeve? OMG - yes on people who are late! Always hearing people chew or mouth-breathe drives me nuts. And those people who think the 'Right Lane Closed Ahead' signs don't apply to them. Oh! And people who set up polls for internet strangers to name their kids lol!

I'm a ball of sunshine today apparently!

@harleyquinn0621 - YAY YAY YAY for each and every single day girl! So happy for you and your cervix lol! And that's a perfectly wonderful thing to be proud of!
@princesslockness - omg I laughed at dildo cam! They can't do it abdominaly? I'm guessing because they need the accuracy? Either way I'll be thinking happy thoughts for nice long cervix measurements!
@neeraja_k - good luck at the appointments! How have your sugars been doing?

  • @mrsbubbles-2 They need nice 'clear' and up-close pictures. So the wand and I get up-close and personal. IDK what else you could really nickname it. It looks like a cheap dildo, and can take pictures/video so in my mind lends itself to that moniker.

  • @princesslockness ROFL @ dildo cam!

    @harleyquinn0621 Yay for closed cervixes!

@mrsbubbles-2 My numbers have been great for the most part, so no changes were made to my insulin dosages. The NP likes what she's seeing and I even got praise, "I wish most of my patients were as diligent with their diet as you are." *puffs out chest*

Although over the past three mornings I've learned I can no longer eat half a banana for breakfast. Those were my only high numbers, and just barely above the 120 they want. So boo to no bananas on my Cheerios. Apples, melon, mangoes, and strawberries are still good though.

My OB couldn't find the heartbeat with the doppler, so he got out the hand-held ultrasound gadget and I got to see a lot of stomping feet and legs as it was moving around in there. He said everything is progressing well and was surprised that I'm still not showing, he even double checked in his chart to see how far along I was. I've only gained 2lbs since my last visit with him 6 weeks ago, and I'm still -8lbs for the pregnancy over all. So I guess the restricted diet is doing some good for keeping me within the what I thought was unrealistic expectations of "no more than 15-20lbs".

Oddly he said my placenta was at the "anterior fundus", which is like opposite of "cervical flap" that the MFM's A/S showed, so I'm so confused about where it actually is, or who is right.

I told him what they said about the partial placenta previa, and he said, "Did they tell you not to have sex?"
    Me: "Yes"
Him: "Are you following their recommendation?"
    Me: "No"
    Him: *surprised giggle*
Me: "We're careful, he doesn't go all the way in or very forcefully"
Him: "As a guy, I can tell you that only lasts for a few minutes..."
    Me: "That's all it takes"
    And we both ROFL. :P

  • How far along are you?
    21+3

    Why are you high-risk?
Crohns, autoimmune liver disease, autoimmune arthritis, elevated afp

Any additional monitoring or testing this week?
More bloodwork, targeted u/s and mfm apt next week.

    Rants/Raves/Questions?
2nd panorama test came back with identical results as first, still low risk, which is nice to have that piece of mind. Still have to worry about the elevated afp, and really trying to get good look at baby's spine next week since she didn't cooperate 3 weeks ago at a/s. I just wish there was more of a definitive test for neural tube defects, as even an amino can be inconclusive for minor abnormalities.

GTKY: What is your biggest pet peeve?
Lack of respect. Whether it be for animals, other humans, even the time of others, lack of respect is a huge pet peeve of mine.
  • How far along are you?  21w+2d

Why are you high-risk? AMA, 2 previous losses, corrected septate uterus, cerclage

Any additional monitoring or testing this week? Not this week. Next appointment is on Monday 4/16

Rants/Raves/Questions? Not really. I'm super annoyed by my varicose veins giving me pain already. I kind of hoped that would happen later, but they were kind of bad before getting pregnant. I've been trying to drink a lot of water and elevate my feet when I rest.

GTKY: What is your biggest pet peeve?
Eating/chewing loudly, people that listen to music in public with no headphones, late people

@harleyquinn0621 Congrats on your great AS and closed cervix! YAY!

@princesslockness Oh man - my H does that sometimes too. OR what's worse is when I tell him, 'Look, we're leaving at 2.' We will both be ready to literally walk out the door, and then he's like "Wait. I have to poop." And then we're 15 minutes late. SOO annoying.

@mrsbubbles-2 Woohoo on feeling a lot of kicks! I think I'm feeling more and more as the days go by, but sometimes i admit I dont' feel much of anything.

@nll0803 FX for your US next week - please tell us how it goes!

  • @neeraja_k we live on the border of two states. One has a law for staying on the right, and only passing on the left, while the other has a free for all. The state without the law, has many more slow, incompetent drivers and I cringe when having to cross the border.

@HarleyQuinn7161 lateness kills me. I understand things happen, or incidents happen, but for those people who are constantly late, I seethe.

@hezzer78 thank you so much! It's just been frustrating thus far. Fingers crossed!
  • So glad to hear everyone is doing so well in our group and lots of heathy babies and moms!

@princesslockness I nearly peed myself when I read dildo-cam. DH makes a comment about it at every bi-weekly appointment, and I can’t wait to use that at our next appointment.

    How far along are you?
    22w+6d

    Why are you high-risk?
Genetic condition, heart condition, auto-immune condition, vasa previa

Any additional monitoring or testing this week?
Had our bi-weekly scan (forever now called the dildo-cam  :D) and appointment with MFM today, and there was actually some cord movement! It is still blocking the cervix, but of the 2cm it needed to move, it moved 1.9cm. So now they said they will wait until 32w to make the call on c-section or not, it it continues to show movement in the right direction. So still scans every two weeks and preterm labor swabs every two weeks starting next month, but hey I’ll take some progress in the right direction.

    Rants/Raves/Questions?
I am cautiously optimistic about the cord movement. At our last scan it did not look good, cord was still smack dab running through my cervix, so I was shocked to hear good news today. That and baby had hiccups and it was the cutest thing in the world to watch for a while.

GTKY: What is your biggest pet peeve?
People who don’t use turn signals and go from one side all the way across by cutting people off. Use the dang turn signal!
  • @kc0711 yay for the cord movement! hopefully it keeps moving the right direction!

  • @harleyquinn0621 Thanks! It was so nice to get positive news instead of negative or neutral! I had come to terms with having a c-section, but am really excited to maybe have the possibility of a vaginal delivery. We will see!

Just popping in quickly. Sorry I’ve been MIA - was on vacation last week and this week is crazy at work. But I just want to say a big “YAY!” for everyone’s good news. You ladies are amazing!

I’m doing well too, but now that I’m past my anatomy scan I’m not getting any special treatment until 3rd tri as long as my BP is stable (which it is, thankfully) so I have no exciting updates. Nice to keep in touch though :)

ETA I also have anted to add that I’m DYING over the dildo-cam!!

  • I am so late to this post! Been feeling pretty cruddy the last week or so.

    How far along are you?
    21 weeks

    Why are you high-risk?
    Diabetes

Any additional monitoring or testing this week?
Ultrasound, MFM appointment on Monday. Also see the nutritionist and get to order my insulin pump.

    Rants/Raves/Questions?
My numbers have been phenomenal since my last nutritionist appointment! I can't wait to see the little bug on Monday! 21 weeks down, hopefully 17 more to go!

Bummed that my midwife wants me to see an actual OB instead of her. She is amazing and I haven't found another OB I like yet, meet with a new one in a couple weeks. Hopefully we hit it off.

GTKY: What is your biggest pet peeve?
Having to repeat myself, ugh it is so frustrating especially when I know you heard me!

I am so happy to see everyone's good news and continue to FX that it keeps up that way!
  • @hoodwink89 - yay for your pump! Update when you can - I'm seriously thinking that's going to be my next option because my numbers are all over the place

    Why are you high-risk?
AMA, RPL, and was having hypertension issues

Any additional monitoring or testing this week?
Nothing until May 4.  We are past our extra monitoring now.  Which in some ways is nice but in others ways I kind like getting to see the baby all the time.

    Rants/Raves/Questions?
I was MIA last week because Joint Commission showed up at work (accrediting for hospitals).  I was wiped.  We made it through with minimal issues, they were very complimentary.  Yay!
Rant: My current position is changing hugely so I've decided to take a different position in the facility.  My last day should be April 30, we've been planning the for months.  But the new position is dragging their feet a bit and I'm irritated.

GTKY: What is your biggest pet peeve?
So many things.  On my mind right now are people expecting last minute plans.  I just can't handle it.  I'm involved in a couple of committees for charities and the expectation that with 3 hours notice I can attend an update meeting kills me.
