  • 1. How old are you and how old will you be at your due date?
    37/38

    2. How far along are you and how are you feeling?
5 weeks 3 days! Overall pretty good. Stomach is getting a bit unsettled this afternoon, but overall just tired (very) and sore boobs. Nothing bad so far.

    3. Any appointments or tests coming up?
Not until my first ultrasound on the 24th. Two weeks from Tuesday!

    4. What do you do for a living and how much time do you plan to take for maternity leave? Any career or work/life balance worries with this pregnancy?
I work as a story producer for reality television. The upside of that is I work freelance, so I get to take as much time off as I want! The downside is that NONE of that time is paid! Luckily, living in CA, we have paid family leave and that was a godsend last time. As far as maternity leave I took 5.5 months last time, but I almost felt that was a bit too long. I had some complications postpartum (postpartum thyroiditis that caused PPA then PPD) and I didn't start feeling better and like myself until I returned to work. This time my endocrinologist and I will be more aware of my risks and hopefully things will go better, but I think I'm aiming for 4 months this time. Plus, I probably can't afford more than that this time around.

    5. In your life what's been your favorite age?
My late 20's were tumultuous but I had so much freedom and did so much creative work, I didn't appreciate that enough at the time. Also, I miss my late 20's body, haha.

  • 1. How old are you and how old will you be at your due date? 34 now and 35 in June

    2. How far along are you and how are you feeling? 6 weeks today! I have food aversions, some nausea, and the tired kicked in big today!

    3. Any appointments or tests coming up? 1st appt is the 23rd!

    4. What do you do for a living and how much time do you plan to take for maternity leave? Any career or work/life balance worries with this pregnancy? I work in I.T. at a forensic engineering firm. My company is too small that I'm not protected by FMLA, but they are great, so I can pretty much take whatever time I need. Last time I planned to take 10 weeks, but only took 8. I plan to do the se this time. I'm in Texas, so it's unpaid, except I do have short term disability.

    5. In your life what's been your favorite age? I'd say 32; that's how old I was when I had my son!

    *Rainbow 8/2015*
    *Expected Rainbows 12/2018*
    *Loss of Twin 5/2018*

  • 1. How old are you and how old will you be at your due date? 35/36

    2. How far along are you and how are you feeling?
I'm 6 weeks 1day and feel exhausted, I'm starving all the time, and my breasts are very sore.

    3. Any appointments or tests coming up?
May 4th is my first appointment and ultrasound. I had two early miscarriages last October and November so I am very anxious to hear my babies heartbeat.

    4. What do you do for a living and how much time do you plan to take for maternity leave? Any career or work/life balance worries with this pregnancy?
I'm a nurse and it is already getting difficult as the culture on my unit does not support breaks...an ongoing issue. I want to take 3 to 6 months off depending on what my family's finances permit. I have a 20 year old daughter in college and a 15 year old son we are supporting as well.

    5. In your life what's been your favorite age? I really enjoyed being 23. I was hopeful, motivated, and energetic. My children were young but I was full of energy!

Haven’t done the intro yet, but thought I’d chime in here

    1. 37/38

    2. 4+1 just got BFP this morning after every glass of white wine for the last week tasted terrible. I hated the taste of white during and after my first pregnancy, which i normally love. That was the clue that I should take a test.

    3. Had planned an appointment for next week to finally get back in BC....whoops!

    4. Television and Film producer. I’m a little concerned about how this is going to fit in my work life, but we’ll figure it out somehow. Hoping to take 3-4 months then ease back in. That’s what i did last go round and seemed to work well for me.

    5. 17 the summer between high school and college and no responsibilities and now. It’s great to finally see some fruits of the labor H and I have put in to our careers, relationships and marriage.

  • 1. How old are you and how old will you be at your due date? 35 & still 35

    2. How far along are you and how are you feeling? 5w6d. Feeling pretty good but I had some light brown spotting on and off since yesterday that's got me a little nervous. I know it's probably nothing to be concerned with but I still can't help but be concerned!

    3. Any appointments or tests coming up? My first appointment is 4/19. Ugh it cannot come soon enough!

    4. What do you do for a living and how much time do you plan to take for maternity leave? Any career or work/life balance worries with this pregnancy? I'm a HR Manager. My job allows a one-year maternity leave, so I'm seriously considering taking a 10 month leave. I took 8 months with my first and since I'm not sure if I going to be expending my family after this I want to take advantage while I can. I'm very lucky that my job is very flexible so no concerns as of yet!

    5. In your life what's been your favorite age? Good question! I would say 30-32, right before I had a baby, were my favorites. I feel like I had the carefree attitude of my early twenties with the knowledge that comes with age. My husband and I had been married for a few years at that point and were had gotten over the adjustment stage, and we had found our core group of friends that we got to spend a lot of time with doing fun things. I had also gotten really into fitness at that point and had lost a lot of weight. And just in general, I didn't let little things bother me like I did when I was younger.

  • 1. How old are you and how old will you be at your due date?
    36/37

    2. How far along are you and how are you feeling?
    4w4d

    3. Any appointments or tests coming up?
No. I need to find a new OB, because the ones I've used have retired. There aren't many in my city, so I may go an hour away.

    4. What do you do for a living and how much time do you plan to take for maternity leave? Any career or work/life balance worries with this pregnancy?
I work at a church as the Children's Director. It's well paid, and 20 flexible hours per week, which in general feels like a unicorn job. I'm not sure how long I get for mat leave, so I'll need to read up on my employee handbook. Of course, Christmas is the busiest time of year, so I'll have to do a lot of planning before I go on leave.

    5. In your life what's been your favorite age?
    25 was really fun!

    38, will be 39

    First appointment is 4/27

    4. What do you do for a living and how much time do you plan to take for maternity leave? Any career or work/life balance worries with this pregnancy?

I’m an attorney. I will take somewhere between 3-6 months. I did 3 with my first. The transition was smooth but she was so little and I would have liked a little more time. Will probably do one part and/or full time teleworking before I return full time.

    5. In your life what's been your favorite age?

Tough call. I’d say anytime from late twenties to early thirties, but I was going through a career change and had gone back to school so wasn’t able to fully benefit from the hard work I had put into my career before then. Otherwise, I’m looking forward to when
  • 1. I am 38, will be 39 at due date

    2. I am 5w6d. I’m exhausted and have no appetite. (I’ve actually been losing weight)

    3. I went through IVF, so I have weekly ultrasounds until mid-May. Saw the yolk sac on Monday.

    4. I am a teacher and have saved up enough time to take from delivery to the end of the school year.  No worries about balancing. I have a supportive administrator and wonderful colleagues.

    5. My favorite age?  No idea. I loved the freedom of my 20’s, but enjoying the security of my 30’s.

Last year, I stepped down from a director position to pursue becoming a momma.  I work in data management for a Medicare insurance brokerage. I'm pretty sure they're forcing me to take as much as possible.  I hope to work from home after maternity leave ♡

    5. In your life what's been your favorite age?

Honestly,  40. I've been through enough to know I'm unstoppable. I've never been more comfortable, in my own skin, than I am right now! :)
