  • WTF to sitting on the couch this morning, drinking my coffee, minding my own business...and suddenly my left nostril starts a red waterfall. It was an unprovoked attack!

Oh no! :worried: That’s not a pleasant way to start the morning.

Well, I’m glad still having nausea is normal, but not glad so many of us are still dealing with it! I thought I was still hungry and ate more, but that didn’t help. Oops.

  • @neeraja_k Happened to me on Sunday night. I wasn't gushing but it was the worst yet. I also have this constant feeling of having something stuck in there. Like I need to blow my nose a million times and nothing is in there.

  • i took a hard fall on some concrete belly first yesterday and freaked out. Luckily there was no blood but I was cramping. My ob said it would likely be fine but i could go to Labor and delivery if things got worse. I spent the rest of the day freaked out and my husband finally told me that we should just go so i would stop strsssing and would be able to sleep. So glad I did because my heart rate and blood pressure were through the roof but after hearing his heartbeat and movements i was able to calm down and relax. The WTF moment was from my ob who was irritated when the nurse called to give her an update like I was crazy for wanting to be sure baby was ok!! I am still surprised she didn’t offer to have me quickly come into her office to have a quick session with a doppler but didn’t even give me the option.

lesson, better safe than stressed and apparently I am considered high maintainance to my OB...
  • @cdougan0903 I called my OB's office after our car got hit by some falling scrap metal while these guys were working on a billboard. They thought I was crazy for calling because "I wasn't physically hurt." My BP and heart rate were super high and I was shaking, but I didn't end up going in. I just wanted a record of it in case something happened, I guess. But yeah, that's a pain when they don't really take you seriously ... It's hard enough being pregnant and it's scary when something happens to your body that you don't really have control over. Glad all is well with you and baby.

WTF to the McDonalds system being down and only accepting cash on the day that I didn't eat breakfast or bring food to work for lunch. And WTF to myself for being so irrationally upset about it.
  • @cdougan0903 Ouch! I'm glad you and baby are okay, but not cool to your OB for acting like you are an inconvenience for wanting to make sure everything is okay. That is unacceptable and I'd be sure to let them know how you feel about it. Considering I've known ladies who've lost their babies over what seemed like relatively minor slips and falls, I'd be freaking out too!

@Brezzy1928 Yeah, I've been suffering from this godawful lingering cold for about 10 days now, and today was the first day I didn't actually have to blow my nose first thing this morning, so I was a little surprised by the sudden nose bleed out of left field. Fortunately I got it stopped pretty quickly this time, but still annoying. Now I'm nervous to blow my nose, which I need to after the sneezing jag I had afterwards. lol

As for those "mystery blockages" that you can feel in there, or that you know are impacting airflow, but don't blow out? Neti pot! It'll loosen them right up so you can blow them out.
  • We’ve had some snow and weird extra cold weather which has me turning the heat up and getting stuffy noses again. No bleeding but when I blow it, there’s some bloody tissue. Just dry membranes. Gross. Hate it.

similar to the not stopping for school busses, WTF people that think it's ok to park in handicapped spots if you aren't handicapped or your vehicle isn't properly marked for it?  There is a man and woman (separately) that I always see at daycare drop off that both park in the handicapped spot regardless of how many other spots are open.  I believe they are a couple but I'm not positive- the little girl looks the same.  Like did they discuss that over dinner one night and both decide to be jerks?  Or....how does that happen?  Not ok.
  • @livinthesunnylife OMG this happens daily at our daycare, and there are actually multiple parents who are guilty.  There isn't much parking, but COME ON. It makes me so stabby.  I haven't complained to the director yet but I'm getting very close.  It's so inappropriate.
  • @livinthesunnylife - yes! makes me so ragey! Our daycare has like 10 parking spots and 2 handicapped spots. Then there's an overflow lot with about 10 more spots. Park in the overflow you lazy assholes!

As someone who drives disabled family members around and frequently uses handicapped spots, you know what worked for me when I worked at a downtown business with limited parking and 3 handicapped spots that were always being taken by the non-handicapped? When politely approaching and telling the rude parkers about the issue didn't work I called the local police department and reported them. After two weeks of parking tickets being issued and some cars towed...it stopped happening. Not just in front of our business, but all over town, as other businesses and residents took it upon themselves to start reporting it.

Now, my only complaint is, if you are indeed disabled and need the handicapped spot, why the heck are you driving an extended cab, long bed, lifted dually pickup truck that takes up two handicapped spots? I see it a lot around here and it's incredibly frustrating trying to find a spot close that grandma can walk to the door from.
  • WTF to the parent messaging me after messaging hours wanting to know why she hasn't been notified if she's chaperoning tomorrow. I made it clear that chaperones were notified two weeks ago. Also, you and your kid have been on vacation for the last three weeks. I wasn't going to choose a chaperone I couldn't get confirmation from. There will be other trips.

Benched due to deployment- Off the bench 8/8/17!

  • I'm doing really well on family phone hang-ups this week. First mom over the weekend over god knows what, and now grandma when I refused to acknowledge her attention whoring freak-out routine that usually crops up on Wednesdays for some reason. At this rate I'll have no guilt and remorse about leaving them behind when I move.

She's called me three times this afternoon freaking out over, "I'm a nervous wreck! I need (husband's name) to stop by after work! It's important!" Today is the FIRST day in over a week it's been SUNNY AND WARM at the same time. So he ignored the vague voicemail she left him and the texts I sent him, and when he got off work he came straight home, hopped on the tractor, and is doing all sorts of heavy lifting work that's been sitting all winter. Which is what I told her when she asked why he didn't stop on his way home.

He refused to acknowledge her behavior and call her back himself, and since I'm apparently a glutton for punishment because I feel empathetic, I called her back. Is it bad that my eye twitches when listening to her freak out on the phone over nothing in particular? Fox News was going so loud in the background with screaming people I could hardly hear her mousy voice over it all. Gee, I can't imagine why she's so "nervous".

So I told her, "Turn your TV off, go drag your lawn chair out in the sun, sit down and soak it up. It's sunny and warm out and you should be outside enjoying it."

    She replies, "It's too cold."

I said, "Hardly, it's 67 degrees and beautiful out! For someone who complains about it being cloudy and cold all the time, here's your chance to go enjoy it. Sit out there, listen to the birds, feel the warmth, smell the narcissus in your backyard blooming..."

...and she hung up on me.

I CONSTANTLY have this omg it is so irritating.

@l@lalala2004 and other nausea moms, could be from heartburn too - it can disguise as nausea (I think you’ve said before you get hb too if memory serves).

  • @lalala2004 my nausea is also coming back at night and I think it is because of heartburn. So annoying!
  • I guess I should take Zantac, then! I haven’t really noticed heartburn too bad, so maybe that’s what this nausea really is.
