I swapped my clothes over to my pathetic maternity stash this am! DH took off weds to balance out working the weekend and made a point of telling me to take time to go early for my meetin and take my time out... ssooo shopping spree it is!
I don’t need much, but a couple not out-dated pieces would be nice. Plus I’ll pick up my goody bag at target and scope out bru if they are still open.
I’m so excited!! I don’t know the last time I had a me-day! And I didn’t even ask for it!

That's awesome @jhjocelyn! My H doesn't tell me to do that often but never says no when I ask him if I can be out and about for a while. He also doesn't really care if/when I spend money but that's only because I keep track of our spending and budget on a regular basis.
This past weekend I cleaned out 4 huge garbage bags of old comforters and sheets to donate. I couldn't believe how many comforters we have that we don't use. I donated two bags of sheets to a local humane society and the rest to the rescue mission in my area. I was super proud of myself for cleaning out 3 closets and getting rid of it all in the same day. That NEVER happens. So much more room! My H then cleaned out our pantry and reorganized the cupboards for a better layout and he cleaned out our freezer. So a very productive weekend.
This week is busy at work and I'll likely fall behind, again. Boo. I need to schedule some project time soon to knock some stuff out so I don't freak out.
I also need to start planning out my leave/what we can afford for me to be partially paid. This mama needs to plan a little bit of time off before baby gets here since I am getting burned out big time and I can't do that until I look at my PTO.
@jhjocelyn Yay for a surprise you day! I'd love to hear about what you pick up on your shopping spree!
@nlc8424 Such a productive weekend! I love creating more space in closets! Especially now. Sorry to hear you're getting burned out. Hope you're able to work something out to where you can take some time to yourself before the newest LO arrives.
I have an insanely busy work week this week. But this weekend is the High Point Market! H and I love going to that and day dreaming about all the furniture we'll buy, and getting wined and dined by the showrooms. Really though, it's a work trip and we'll be shopping for the business.
I spent several hours sorting through old paint cans yesterday figuring out which ones we needed to keep and which I want DH to take to the dump. Cuz obviously that’s a super high priority when the room the nursery is going to be is still a storage room full of crap. I don’t know why I can’t motivate myself to tackle that room, but it’s really starting to stress me out
@jhjocelyn Hooray! I vote for spending extra time getting a special treat while you're out and I second @SkilledSailor, would love to hear what you buy!
@nlc8424 So productive! We were working on a home renovation project this weekend and it really inspired me to go through our closets, etc. and get rid of items we no longer need/want. Just need some extra energy to accompany that desire! I hope you can figure out a way to take some time off and do something nice for yourself!
@SkilledSailor Hopefully, it will make your work week go by quickly and that sounds like a really fun event to look forward to!
AFM: I was doing my toenails last night and told MH I may not be able to comfortably reach them for much longer. I see monthly pedis in my (and my DD's) future!
Also - MH and I have been watching Shameless on Netflix and we only have one episode left! We need to decide what to watch next - any recommendations? We have pretty different taste in shows, but have watched the following shows together and enjoyed them: Blacklist, Bloodline, Friday Night Lights, The Office and Scrubs.

All the extra calls, planning, decisions, and prep for our move next Monday. Need to pick paint palate for basically the entire new house. No pressure. Last time I had to make a decision like this I got overwhelmed and painted the whole damn thing Revere Pewter. Also, getting my car to the body shop and picking up my rental tomorrow. Then two days of training for work Wednesday-Thursday. Hopefully I can find some time to sit still, but looking unlikely. @SkilledSailor if you have any house color palettes you want to share, let me know...
@jhjocelyn I cleaned out all my not maternity clothes this weekend too, but I didn't get a shopping spree, jealous! I hope you had a successful trip
@nackie when we had our son his room was a storage room that didn't get cleaned out until I was like 28 weeks and then it didn't get painted until I was about 35 weeks. It's definitely stressful to have it hanging over your head, but you'll get there!

@jhjocelyn awesome for a spur of the moment you day!
I feel incredibly behind in baby preparation. Numerous people stressed me out this weekend asking me if I have bought this, done this, registered for that, etc. I am a high school teacher (ok and work two other part time jobs because I love them) and it is April, I am in anxiety mode with my senior students right now and am now starting to get stressed because I feel "behind" in baby prep. I have told myself come the end of May, I will be able to breath and get more planning done.
I also went to a fantastic consignment sale this weekend at a church nearby. They do a fantastic job of sorting the items ahead of time so nothing is too "junky". I made out like a bandit!
@southernlady07 yay for regular pedicures! I got one on Friday when I used a personal day, I haven't had a pedicure since January and it felt fantastic.
@lisac113 I feel like people just ask those questions to make conversation, so don't let it get to you! This is a really busy time for me as well (higher ed) but summer is slow at work so I know I'll have lots of time to dedicate to preparing then. I got some great stuff from a church consignment sale a few weeks ago and am still so pleased with my purchases! Maternity clothes are $$ so it is great to save some money.

@SkilledSailor so jealous you are going to High Point Market this weekend! I’ve never been, but my H grew up in Kernersville and has told me about how big and busy it is. The weekend after market Hickory Furniture Mart has a huge sale and I love going there to look for a deal or dream of things I want. Hope you find some great pieces for your business.
My parents are here helping do our big renovation for the nursery. I’m amazed that H and my dad have gotten so much done in two days and excited to see what they will finish by the end of the week.
@lisac113 Please don't worry! We're only halfway so you have plenty of time. I agree with @southernlady07 -- people just say those things. You have the whole summer to figure it out.
@spottedginger Put some of my favorites in the spoiler. Any of the light blue/greens would be an excellent color for bathrooms! Another favorite color of mine that I don't think is in any of these is Benjamin Moore's Gray Owl.
^Agreeable Gray is an excellent "greige" for living spaces. Especially if your furniture/decor is eclectic. It'll go with anything.
^Light French Gray is another wonderful "greige" and honestly looks so classic. If you have an office, Newburyport or Blustery Sky are great choices for a bold but stylish office color.
@klj0228 Oh fun! What are they doing for the nursery?
@nackie if it makes you feel any better, currently the ONLY baby item we’ve purchased so far is one little non-practical outfit, and we’re currently sleeping in the future nursery (it BARELY fits our bed) while our master bedroom is a construction zone. We’re putting in a master bathroom, and building new closets. With the house torn apart there’s really no space to even start buying the stuff we want to get until it’s done!
@ashh2018 completely agree! I’ve done absolutely nothing and bought nothing — there’s time though. I feel like once it’s warmer out and days get longer, I’ll feel like starting the to-do list.
I totally felt like wife of the year when I offered my husband sex this week. He's been so good not to complain or try to seduce me this time, so I haven't been feeling guilty. I think 1-2 times per month during pregnancy while we have an inconsistently sleeping toddler and I work one night a week is the best he can expect. So I'm awesome for doing it.

One of our clients gave me a stack of baby books yesterday and it was so sweet of her that I almost cried. She said “you can just add them to the pile, I’m sure you have a ton of stuff!” (Bc in my job, I’m super organized and prepared, so she assumed I was in real life? lol) and I just smiled.
Also @spottedginger your comment made me chuckle because we just had two houses painted Revere Pewter and there was so much fuss with both clients that when I read those words in your comment I groaned. I do love the color though.
Any suggestions for a “white” that will go with pure white tile and charcoal gray slate-look floors in our new bathroom? It has to be a gray-white, not a beige-white, and I don’t want it to turn blue, pink, or yellow on the walls! Any suggestions?
Ok. I haven’t figured out how to build the palette so you can see it from my phone but have swatches saved on a ppt on the laptop. The colors do not translate from screen to phone with the photo I took. I chose BM colors since we had good luck with their zero VOC paint. So far I’ve got: Simply white (all trim etc) owl gray (main color for halls, living room, kitchen, stairway) coventry gray (dining room, den- off dining room, and insides of living room built ins) smoke (DS room and downstairs guest bathroom) Either silver satin or calm for master bedroom and upstairs bathrooms up in the air: maybe Pashmina for the guest bedroom and maybe Slip for baby girls room, but that may just be calm or silver satin.
I really wanted to use gray cashmere for the downstairs main bathroom, but the tile had a lot of brown and I’m afraid the green would clash. Opinions?
Thanks ladies, you make me feel better. I am a crazy planner, DH and I travel a lot and I love to do the research for it. I want to do all the research on baby products, it just isn't the month to do it! I am sure once I get the time I will go crazy and start to feel better come end of May/June.
@spottedginger LOVE those colors! On my computer it looks like gray cashmere is a warm toned green. As long as that's true, it should be fine with the brown tones in the tile.
We used Gray Owl at work and I love it. It was a color that looked really green at my house but is a great, pale neutral gray at the other building.
We’ve used BM White Heron, I think, as a nice white white that still wasn’t too stark. It worked really well with the satin-finish white subway tile near it.

@jhjocelyn oh no that sounds awful. Hopefully they can tell you what's going on and how long it'll take to feel better. Also hope you still get some you time today! This is so typical of what would happen to me lol.
Thanks ladies! I’m spending the “me-day” spending online instead... found Elsa and Anna play dresses for $20 for both! And they are durable, washable, comfy, meant-to-be-played-in-and-worn-all-day! I got her a Rapunzel dress from the same company at Christmas and it’s still going strong. They do boy stuff too, And are having a spring sale, I’ll add the link as a totaly random side...
@jhjocelyn I have had that for 2,5 days straight. It is finally easing up today. Felt like a bad stitch deep inside right under my left rib. I figured I’d overdone it packing over the weekend. I hope you get some relief soon!
Thanks @spottedginger If it had remained a bad stitch I woulda waited it out, but heat totally messed it up! I felt so stupid after, it’s excruciating now unless its iced and I’ve taken tylenol. I was totally clueless which doc to call, and so relieved that my ob office can handle it! Here’s hoping for a quick and speedy recovery.

@spottedginger - I may just steal your palette since I'm color-blind and have to pick paint colors for a whole house too, hahaha.
Looks like I'm moving 2 weeks from tomorrow! Everything has been going super smoothly with our mortgage stuff & negotiations, and I probably should start packing. Still in shock we'll have so much more space and a big backyard so soon!!
Re: baby prep - I haven't done anything either, and it's going to stay that way for a while. A good friend of mine just gave me a few adorable casual maternity dresses that I know I'll get a ton of use out of, and she gave me her Solly Baby Wrap that she only used a couple of times, which I am SOOOOO grateful for. It was something I definitely wanted to splurge on for this baby, and now I don't have to! As far as this baby's nursery, I have a plan in mind but we have to paint and furnish several other rooms before I get around to starting it. I also really want to pull up the carpet in the nursery and put down hardwood or laminate floors, since the room is so small I think it will be easy - but I can't do anything else until we take care of that.
I'm sort of...happy(?) I didn't get to do a nursery with DS now (we were in a one-bedroom apt in NY then). If I had done it already I don't think I'd be nearly excited this time, but now I am 100% psyched to design a beautiful room for this baby.

Has anyone tried one of those float chambers? (For anyone who has never heard of them, they’re these pods filled with salt water that is the same temp as your body so it feels like you are floating. They’re supposed to be great for pregnant people.) I am thinking that’s what DH can get me for mother’s day since I can’t go in a jacuzzi and every time I try to take a bath our outdoor cat dirties it up with his muddy paws.
