2. What kind of exercise were you able to do this week? And how did you feel? I ran 3.5 miles everyday (on the treadmill) and did my ab and butt workouts from blogilates calendar challenges. In the beginning of the week it felt great, but I was a little tired yesterday. I’m sick though (laryngitis/cold) so maybe that is why.
3. Gtky: Any fun weekend plans? Taking the boys to swim lessons Sat and to a 4 year old birthday party Sun. Hopefully we will make it to church. Other than that I look forward to getting some time to play outside as I hope the weather will stay as nice!
2. Workouts this week? I’m coming back from a fall, but I’ve been able to run 3 miles each night since Tuesday. It actually has felt pretty good and I did some speed work with it last night. My knee still hurts like a bitch if I put any pressure on it (like when I kneel, for example), but the running has been mostly fine.
3. Weekend plans? Survive. My husband will be oot all weekend for work. My brother and SIL live a mile away and would usually hang out with me a little, but they’re on a baby moon this weekend. So it’s just me and the kiddos from tonight until Sunday. I predict a lot of movies and Pizza Hut lol
2. What kind of exercise were you able to do this week? And how did you feel? Saturday we did a 3.5 mile hike and I wore my 30 lbs son a majority of the time, Monday was gym day and I did 30 minutes of the stair treadmill and the weights, Tuesday/Thursday I walked for about 50 minutes with a friend, and today is another gym day.
3. Gtky: Any fun weekend plans? Going to take my son to Six Flags tomorrow with my friend and her son. Then, Sunday we are going to hike again.
2. What kind of exercise were you able to do this week? And how did you feel? Not really any. We’ve been traveling since last Saturday. But I’m feeling totally fine otherwise!
3. Gtky: Any fun weekend plans? Lots and lots and lots of church. We’re Eastern Orthodox so this Sunday is our Easter.

2. What kind of exercise were you able to do this week? And how did you feel? I'm woefully out of shape, so my exercise routine and goals are pretty modest. I've been taking a 30-40 minute walk every day at lunch. (With my schedule right now it's basically my only opportunity to exercise.) I need to add in at home strength training 3x a week and I'm hoping for some fast walk intervals on the treadmill 1-2x a week, but those will be my goals for next week. I need to hang a fitness calendar on my wall so I actually remember to do these things. I've been feeling great while walking.
3. Gtky: Any fun weekend plans? Nope, just doing taxes and working on a writing project I'm WAY behind on. Oh, we will be celebrating my husband's birthday on Sunday, so that'll be fun, but it's going to be a busy weekend!
@texas_t Hiking while wearing or carrying a toddler is such a great workout! I need to do that again soon!
I'm not sure I go here. But I'm gonna try to fit in. Ha
1. How far along are you? 5 weeks 2 days
2. What kind of exercise were you able to do this week? And how did you feel? Walked a little. My goal is to wake up every morning and walk for 30-45 minutes, then a little strength stuff in the evenings. I'm honestly scared to do anything too hard right now because *TW* PGAL brain *END TW* But my goal is to walk my tail off this pregnancy and do more once I'm out of the 1st tri so that I don't blow up like a balloon.
3. Gtky: Any fun weekend plans? Nope. Just the way I like it.
2. What kind of exercise were you able to do this week? And how did you feel? Between my schedule and the weather I haven't been able to do much lately, but I did manage a 3 mile walk/run earlier in the week and I've been doing stair climbing on my lunch breaks at work. I felt great during the walk/run, but finding I have to take more breaks with the stair climbing.
3. Gtky: Any fun weekend plans? Going out to dinner tomorrow night with my husband and some friends to celebrate mine and a friend's brithday (our birthdays are three days apart). My mother in law is watching our daughter so it'll be nice to have some adults-only social time!
2. What kind of exercise were you able to do this week? And how did you feel?- I have been working through Jillian Michaels Beginner Shred, currently on level 2. I really don't feel any different doing it since learning I am pregnant other than maybe a little more short of breath.
3. Gtky: Any fun weekend plans?- Going out to dinner tonight with my extended family for my grandma's 99th birthday! I would love to tell her about the baby as a birthday surprise (she LOVES babies) but I think it is just too early.
@buckeyemama0506 99th birthday! How amazing!! Also, I see you have a buckeye screen name did you go to Ohio State or are you just from Ohio? Both my parents went to OSU.
Everyone is invited here. Fit Mom is a support for any fitness through our pregnancies. I find I am more motivated with being accountable. So running, walking, weight lifting, etc., or planning to do those - join in!
Is there a heart rate we're supposed to shoot for to be under? I know my OB is going to be crabby about me running. Just wonder if anyone has any guidelines other than, "don't".
I haven't been super consistent the past few months, but before that I used to run almost every day. I'm still in good enough shape that running 3 miles each night these past few days isn't really that hard, I'm not sore, etc. I just tend to take winters off because it's dark and cold and pick it back up in the spring.
Hi! I believe I am 4 weeks... up for debate!;) I did P90x3 incinerator (modified some parts) today, a 20 min. walk and some gardening! I had to stop gardening as my back started hurting so will finish pulling weeds tomorrow and mow the lawn this week I have also done 4 other P90x3 workouts. Love this workout program so hoping to continue as long as possible.
2. What kind of exercise were you able to do this week? And how did you feel? We have been traveling this week, school vacation so I haven't been doing proper exercise but I have gotten my 10,000 steps every day since Wed. I usually do zumba 2-3 times a week and other workouts on other days, so I'm usually at the gym 4-5 days a week but since my bfp I've been zero, it's been part 1) my husband traveling so I don't have someone to watch my kids 2) us traveling as a family and 3)PGAL brain. I've had a rainbow baby but I'm still nervous.
3. Gtky: Any fun weekend plans? We spent the day at the Philadelphia zoo and a local park and tomorrow we drive home.

hello all! Got my BFP on 4/6. I did not workout at all during my first pregnancy had to get induced with High blood pressure and it took me forever to get back into decent shape. I want to workout and eat better, I am going to need you ladies for motivation.
Hi everyone - I want to start a conversation about working out during the first trimester. Most of the information I'm finding online seems to be directed more toward the second and third trimester -- when your belly has more of an impact on your physical ability.
What workouts is everyone doing to stay fit during your first trimester? Are there any workouts that you're avoiding?
I've talked to my Dr. and I plan on continuing my same workouts until I can't anymore. My regular workouts are running, pilates, and personal training.
I haven't told my trainers yet, but I feel like I should soon. My hesitation is that I workout at work, and my trainers also train my colleagues. I'm waiting to tell work as long as I can, and I don't want it to accidentally slip. Last week I said I wasn't feeling well so I was going to take it easy...but I can only pull that for so long
I’m going to keep up with my C25K running, and possibly the GymnasticBodies bodyweight exercises. But I also plan to add more labor/strengthening things to my routine. There have been studies done on the whole exercise/heart rate thing and it’s not nearly as scary as they make it sound. Last pregnancy I worked out pretty much until the end (I was even doing a 2-mike walk route in the days before, and my son was 11 days overdue.) Minus the MAS and 3-week NICU stay (LOLLLLLL) he’s perfectly healthy!

I plan on keeping with the running (and hopefully adding back in cycling and swimming) as long as possible. My guess is that the cycling will be the first to go, but that I'll be able to run/walk/swim for as long as I want.
@runrinserepeat Are you cycling outside or on a stationary bike? I just bought a new bike, and was only able to ride it once before I got my BFP. I was SO bummed when my Dr. said that I had to avoid biking because of the risk of falling/crashing. Is that risk still high in the first trimester before your bump throws off your balance? I want to be safe, but I also really want to get some miles on my bike.
@bumpitup I have a spin bike in my basement, and I'm working on fixing up my road bike so I can ride it a little this spring. I will likely only ride it on paved bike paths, where the risk of falling or a car hitting me will be low.
Just posting in here to say that I am going to be doing at home strength training Tu-Th-Sat (so, tonight!) in addition to my daily 30-45 minute walks, because I...have not been doing the strength training and need some accountability, lol. Hope no one minds the dear diary here.
@bumpitup@runrinserepeat I am still riding my bike several days a week on the roads. It's how I get to and from school and I plan to keep riding until the semester ends in four weeks. I'm in a city and there are bike lanes on part of my trip, but not all of it. I will not ride to school past the first trimester. I told my doctor this and she didn't say anything about it.
@kadeephd I don't lift very much in general (8-10 pound hand weights) so I think I'm going to keep that the same, since my body is used to it. I also pick up my nearly 30 pound toddler because that's basically unavoidable and my body is (quite) used to that too. I do need to look up if I need to modify anything else (push ups, plank, squats) but I don't think so. I'll double check before tonight!
@bumpitup I think most exercises are fine most of your pregnancy as long as it’s your usual. Of course heavy weights later or something that could cause your sense of gravity to be off are probably not recommended. I’ve had aquantancies that did Cross Fit weight lifting through their pregnancies. I run (treadmill) ~ 3.5 miles a day and the most days do blogilates (abs butt and arms). If anyone is interested it’s https://www.blogilates.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/30-day-ab-challenge-2.png (example of one of the calendars). It’s free and not too hard. She has harder stuff. I’ve Im breaking TOU someone tell me and I’ll remove the link(I don’t want to get a warning). Not advertising, just sharing.
I caved and decided to tell one of my trainers. She was warning of a very tough workout on Thursday...I'm always someone who pushes hard, and I didn't want her to call me out in front of my colleagues if I wasn't pushing as hard as normal. I will feel a lot better going into my workouts now
Posted this is the wrong thread. Just reposting in the right place lol So i went to heated power vinyasa yoga today... i have never loved child's pose so much in my life. Can't balance, short of breath, dizzy when I stand up too fast. Lord help me. I usually go 3-4 times a week but today was the first time I just felt weak

My runs this week haven’t been so good. I’ve done them, but I feel a little exhausted - not winded. I’m not sure of how to describe it.
I'm going to be running with friends before work for the first time since my BFP tomorrow. I'm a little nervous about keeping up, but one of the women (not one of our regulars) is a little slower than I usually am, so I think I'm going to be good!
One of these ladies knows that we were TTC (she asked if I wanted to train for a marathon with her in October, and I told her I'd try but that I might not be able to actually complete training/marathon depending on outcome), so I'm a little nervous she's going to want to grill me LOL
@runrinserepeat Just tell her you're still thinking about it. You wouldn't start training for an Oct marathon for a couple mor months anyway. Good luck, and just enjoy your runs while you can!
I do a lot of HIIT and CrossFit workouts... so far I’ve been doing the same workouts, but I’ve definitely felt a lot slower this last week! Definitely just feel like I’m super out of shape and get winded really easy! My goal is to continue my workouts until the end of my pregnancy... I’m technically considered high risk even though I don’t think I should be (my first born was a preemie, but I’ve had two completely normal, full term pregnancies since him) so, as long as I don’t start to dilate early or anything, I really want to try to stay on top of my fitness!
@bumpitup we wouldn’t start an official training plan, but we all tend to bump up our long Saturday runs to 10-13 miles during the summer. That’ll be starting soon.
@orangecrush29 I also do those types of workouts- HIIT and plyometrics. I tend to avoid the jumping squats and lunges or double/triple skaters and just modify them and will get an amazing workout. Basically I’m just modifying my workouts but still doing them! I am currently doing P90X3 if you’ve heard of it? Any thoughts on the heart rate issue? The only thing I worry about it having my heart rate get too high. I love the adrenaline from a good workout so not sure how much to pull back... I know everyone says to ask your doctor but I don’t have an appointment for another month so asking if anyone else has had experience with this or advice!:)
