1st Trimester

Now what

I am 8 weeks. I have only felt sick for about 2 weeks. The past few days I have been vomiting in the morning and able to get on with my day. Yesterday I never felt nauseous or vomited. Then today I made it all day until 7:00 tonight. I have been eating small meals frequently. I have preggie pops, and sea-bands. What do I have to do to feel better? This is not fun!

Re: Now what

  • You can talk to your OB if it's really impacting your life because there are meds that can help but only vomiting once a day isn't really bad as far as morning sickness goes and all meds come with risks.  MS peaks around 8-9 weeks so it may taper off soon but I'll add the caveat that I was puking once a day at minimum from 7 weeks through 18 weeks and then a few days a week through 20 some weeks with my first pregnancy so it may not ease right away.

  • If you’re only vomiting once a day or less, you’re doing pretty well. Small meals and lots of snacks are key. I found ginger ale helped me a lot as well as sour candy
  • Just time, sister. As your hormones level out, theoretically you should start to feel better. My first pregnancy, I was sick every day until about 16ish weeks. This time around, it seems to be subsiding somewhat and I’m 10w2d.

Have you tried vitamin B6 + Unisom? That helped me greatly.

Also citrus-flavored gum, corn chips, and (oddly) whole milk settle my stomach. Everyone is different. Hang in there. Nausea sucks.
