How far along are you/how big is baby? 21+3. Around 11 inches, 13 oz.
How are you feeling? not great. Nausea has reared its ugly head again this week even though im still taking diclegis. Also having a lot of lower limb pain and forgot to put on my compression socks this morning.
Rants/raves/questions? rave: feeling a lot more confident and less anxious about the pregnancy now that anatomy scan is done and im feeling pretty regular movement! Rant(ish): starting to feel the pressure to get stuff done. Think I picked which hospital I want to deliver at yesterday (my OB group goes to 2 hospitals). Now for finding a pediatrician and signing up for prenatal classes. Might seem early but my DH and I have really conflicting schedules the next few months, so finding a time that we can both do something like that takes a lot of planning. Any appointments this week? nope. Nothing until the end of the month. GTKY: What trait do you hope the baby gets from you, your SO, or another family member? We have always joked that we were going to have red headed, dark skinned Asian children (my DH is half Vietnamese and half spanish and red hair runs in my family although I don't have it). That is mostly a joke though. I do hope our baby gets more of DH's skin tone though and not my freckled, easily burned skin. I also hope he or she gets some of DH's mysterious height (he's 5'11" even though everyone else in his family is under 5'7" and his mom is under 5').
How far along are you/how big is baby? 19+2, ~8 inches and 9oz already as of the last ultrasound measurements How are you feeling? Fine, other than this cold. Other than being hungry more often, most days I could still forget I'm pregnant. No real noticeable symptoms, no bump, all of my same pants and shirts still fit. Rants/raves/questions? Rave: Suddenly, starting yesterday I'm feeling pretty consistent movement and minor kicks throughout the day, so that's pretty cool! Rant: I am SO over this damned cold. How can something that just affects your upper respiratory system make you feel so worthless... Any appointments this week? I have a regular OB appointment on Wednesday, but I think given the severity and virulence of this cold virus, which I'd hate to spread to other pregnant ladies in the waiting room, I'm going to try to reschedule it to next Tuesday when I have a follow-up appointment with the MFM. Hopefully by then I'll be over this. Those appointments are usually so brief that it's honestly a waste of the hour drive to get there for it. So maybe if I double them up on the same day, it won't feel like such a wasted day. But we'll see if they have the room to reschedule me. Otherwise, I'll be wearing the ever so attractive pariah face mask.
GTKY: (stolen from Tues ticker) What trait do you hope the baby gets from you, your SO, or another family member? I honestly can't think of anything specific. I'll be happy with however it comes out.
@doctormom33 Sorry you are still feeling sick, that completely sucks. I am with you on the lower limb pain when I am at all active, so I can imagine that being tough with an on-your-feet job. My doctor friend who had a baby last year said she just tried to elevate her legs whenever she wasn't working, she would prop them up on pillows to sleep.
How far along are you/how big is baby? 21+1/endive or pomegranate
How are you feeling? I am feeling tired again which I wasn't expecting until 3rd tri, it seems like the 2nd tri energy only lasted a few short weeks. I slept for 9 hours last night and am still meh at work. But other than that and some heartburn, no big complaints.
Rants/raves/questions? I booked our "lamaze" class already too, they only do them like once a month so I wanted to make sure we got into the June one, anything earlier seemed too early (I don't want to forget everything) and July seemed too late. What other classes is everyone planning on taking? I want to do a breastfeeding one but am not sure we need anything else like how to care for a newborn, I am confident I can change a diaper without practicing on a doll lol.
Any appointments this week? Nope, A/S was last week so nothing until the end of the month (follow up scan to look at my placenta).
GTKY: (stolen from Tues ticker) What trait do you hope the baby gets from you, your SO, or another family member? DH keeps saying he hopes she gets my brains which is sweet but makes me feel bad that he feels that way because he is smart too, I am just really book smart and good at test taking. I hope she gets his even keeled personality, if she is moody/emotional like me that will make for some difficult teenage years.

@legallykate I'm not feeling as bad as first trimester, was just surprised to see symptoms returning at all. Think my honeymoon period of 2nd trimester might just be ending! As far as classes go, I do plan on signing us up for an infant care class and would like to do a breastfeeding class as well. I'm not as concerned about the birth/lamaze class because honestly we are more familiar with that process than actually raising a baby. I would like to still take one, but it depends on whether we can get it in with our schedules. One of the hospitals my OB group uses has a single day (all day) birth, breastfeeding, and infant care class, which is what I would like to do. It is at the hospital that I am not going to be delivering at though, so I need to find out if I need to go through the other one (whose classes aren't as easy to schedule of course). I think the infant care class will be good for my husband especially because he hasn't really been around babies much and has never changed a diaper, etc. I think just having things laid out simply for him will make him more confident in the beginning (and not stupid for not knowing what he is doing).
How far along are you/how big is baby? 18 weeks. Baby is as big as a smal caramel frap! How are you feeling? Not bad. A little tired, but I'm using as much of my spring break to rest as possible. Rants/raves/questions? I'm feeling so happy that we're finally settled on a name for our baby. I just finished making a guest list for my shower and it's already at 50 people (and that's not counting little kids that are being invited/anyone my MIL wants to add). That's way too many people for the backyard baby shower I had originally thought I was going to have, so now my best friend and cousin have to find a venue which I feel kind of guilty about. It's not even my friends making up the bulk of the invites- it's my relatives. Any appointments this week? My A/S is on April 11th, so I'm just looking forward to that. I can't wait to get a look at my little guy's face! GTKY: (stolen from Tues ticker) What trait do you hope the baby gets from you, your SO, or another family member?
I'm betting he's going to look a lot like my husband (the nose that we saw at my NT scan looked identical to my husband's) but with my coloring- dark hair, green eyes, olive skin. I'd love for him to have my husband's blue eyes but we'll see. DH and I have family members with every hair and eye color so it's kind of a crapshoot as to what our son will look like. He's probably going to have the sarcastic, dry humor that runs in both of our families. And hopefully the intelligence of his great-grandfather and sabba, but with his father's people skills.
Me: 28 DH: 29 Married: 6/2016 TTC #1: 12/2016 Benched due to deployment- Off the bench 8/8/17!
@legallykate I would highly recommend an infant CPR class! DH and I are taking a birth class/infant care class (it’s combined), infant CPR, and breast feeding class, and he will go to a daddy boot camp class. DH has never been around tiny babies (I work in peds, I get my fair share ) so I think it would be good for him to hear from other dads about caring for a little one. He thought it would be a good idea to go, so I’m fully supporting it! Writing it out it seems like a lot of classes, but with her expected to be a preemie, the more prepared the better.
How far along are you/how big is baby? 21w+6d, baby is an endive (which has been the lamest one so far imho)
How are you feeling? Pretty good. Heartburn has started, but is manageable with tums. The most annoying thing is how much I pee in a day/night. MFM makes me drink 1 gallon of water and 32oz of an electrolyte drink a day, I feel like a water balloon!
Rants/raves/questions? Rave- love feeling baby move, she is an active little girl! The other day DH was talking to her and then put his head on my belly and she kicked him. Melted my heart. Rant- my insurance company is being a total PITA and is making me pay double to be at the MFM clinic, I pay my copay for the visit and pay for all the scans in addition, and I have to get scanned every two weeks. At this rate, I’ll hit my deductible in a month. I work in healthcare and insurance just frustrates the life out of me!
Any appointments this week? This is my week off, I’ll be back at MFM next week for another scan and doctors appt to check on the vasa previa.
GTKY: (stolen from Tues ticker) What trait do you hope the baby gets from you, your SO, or another family member? I have a really cool/unique color of green eyes that I would love for her to have from me. From DH I want her to have his ability to make and keep friends. He is such a wonderful friend to all of his friends, and in today’s age of bullying, I think it is such an awesome trait to have.
How far along are you/how big is baby? 19 +4. A mango.
How are you feeling? Tired and Huge! Rants/raves/questions? I really wish I could feel the baby moving. It would make me feel so much better. I have pretty much finished my registries but, I feel like there isn't enough on them. I feel like I am missing stuff.
Any appointments this week? I have my A/S on Thursday with the MFM and a regular old OB appointment on Friday. I cannot wait until the scan! I always feel so much better seeing and hearing LO. Plus this will be DHs first time coming to any appointment so I am excited for him to see the baby.
GTKY: (stolen from Tues ticker) What trait do you hope the baby gets from you, your SO, or another family member? I hope LO gets DH's sporting ability because I sure as heck have none! I am more artsy and creative so I hope LO gets some of that from me.
Pretty much normal. I've been lucky to not have many undesirable symptoms. But I want to eat all the things.
Rants/raves/questions?
I'm starting to feel a lot more movement, and over the weekend I felt the first kicks. LO loves caramel macchiatos but won't kick for anything else. I'll be happy when I can finally hear the heartbeat with DH's stethoscope. Hopefully that will happen soon.
As far as classes go, we're signing up for a labor and delivery class at the hospital in July. I also want to take an infant CPR class.
Any appointments this week?
My a/s is this Thursday! I'm so excited to see LO again and for DH to finally be able to come to an appointment.
GTKY: (stolen from Tues ticker) What trait do you hope the baby gets from you, your SO, or another family member?
I hope the baby is adventurous and willing to try new things like DH. He loves to dive into new activities and projects and is good at pretty much everything he tries. I hope he/she gets my greenish eyes.
@legallykate We are taking an infant care class, a breastfeeding class, and a birth class. I wish my hospital had something like the Daddy Day Camp thing... that sounds pretty cool! We will also probaby take an infant cpr class if I can find one. @Brezzy1928 My registry looks pretty sparse too. But - we are getting a lot of stuff from friends so I'm thinking that's why it looks so small.
How far along are you/how big is baby? 20w+2d, banana How are you feeling? Pretty good.Still having trouble sleeping through the night and I feel like I'm gaining weight too fast. Also my feet are terribly swollen lately. Super uncomfy.
Rants/raves/questions? Not really...so incredibly ready for it to be May and for work to get a lot easier. I'm pretty tired of this school year.
Any appointments this week? Nope - not til 4/16
GTKY: (stolen from Tues ticker) What trait do you hope the baby gets from you, your SO, or another family member? I hope he gets my love of STEM and talent for problem solving/critical thinking. I hope from H he gets gentleness, sensitivity, outgoing-ness, and interest in the arts... My H is the sensitive, outgoing artist type, and I'm the logical introverted engineer. We balance each other out.. but I hope LO gets the best of both worlds
How far along are you/how big is baby? 20+4, banana How are you feeling? alright, joint pain/swelling has come back in full force. Rants/raves/questions? I don't get to pick a pediatrician, due to having military health insurance. I know the two pediatricians on base are fantastic, so part of me is rejoicing that I have less stress of finding one, the other part is a little upset due to lack of choice. The other thing that bothers me is that the hospital I'm delivering at doesn't offer tours, unless you sign up for the one day prenatal class which is $150 a person. $300 for a glorfied tour, no thanks. Any appointments this week? Just bloodwork, nothing until April 17th. GTKY: (stolen from Tues ticker) What trait do you hope the baby gets from you, your SO, or another family member? H is so calm and patient, I hope baby girl gets that from him. I'm much more type A. I'm hoping she also inherits some of H's height (he is 6'2, I'm 5'8) but I'm a little nervous as his mom is only 4'11. It will also be interesting looks wise to see who she resembles more, H is Chinese and Laotian, and I am of Italian decent.
How far along are you/how big is baby? 19w1day, the size of a hotdog
How are you feeling? Pretty good overall
Rants/raves/questions? Is it weird that I don’t want to take any classes? Like, I know I probably
should but I just don’t want to. Any appointments this week? Not until next week
GTKY: (stolen from Tues ticker) What trait do you hope the baby gets from
you, your SO, or another family member? DH’s sister is pregnant
with a girl too and their side of the family has really strong genes. All the
men in the family for generations look almost identical. So, I’m really curious
how similar our two girls will look.
Personality wise, I hope she gets DH’s sense of
adventure and his culinary ability. I hope she gets my love for books.
@jsnakehole My shower is probably going to be about
50 people too. I’m not sure how it got that big though.
@doctormom33 I’m also still taking the diceglis,
which definitely helps with the nausea but I feel like it’s making me even more
tired that first tri. I’m only taking half the dosage, but getting up in the
mornings is so hard.
@jsnakehole we ended up sending out 47 invites to my shower... Considering that that doesn't include all the kids that will be there with their moms, we will definitely have at least 50 people. I invited maybe 10 friends and the rest is family. We always have to rent a facility for these sort of things.
@melbel0824 i have been super tired, but im not sure if the diclegis is really to blame as I've been sleeping very crummy in general. I usually only take it at night (because night and first thing in the morning are my worst times).
How far along are you/how big is baby? 22+2, spaghetti squash.
How are you feeling? Sick. Not pregnancy related, just regular flu + sinus infection. My belly is much more tender now, and I don't like my chihuahua climbing in my lap. Even a 7 pound dog is uncomfortable walking on my bump. I feel like my abs are always clenched and just getting fatigued.
Rants/raves/questions? I'm thinking I'm finally feeling baby movement, but it's still hard for me to be certain. It could just be gas. Everyone seems to be so thrilled with feeling baby kicks, but what I'm feeling is more just vaguely annoying gurgling in my belly. Something that was more obviously identifiable would be nice. My areolas have gone insane! I miss my little pink nipples, lol.
Any appointments this week? No, only once every 4/5 weeks for me, so nothing until the end of the month. I did see my PCP yesterday because of my illness, and got some antibiotics and cough medicine. He said I "probably" have the flu, but isn't going to test me because it's too late to start Tamiflu or anything anyway. I definitely have a sinus infection.
GTKY: (stolen from Tues ticker) What trait do you hope the baby gets from you, your SO, or another family member? I hope the kid gets my competitive drive, logic, and intelligence. I hope he gets DH's people skills and ability to get along with everyone. We used a sperm donor, so really, looks wise, I just hope there are no huge surprises! I guess as an athlete who is petite, I hope he gets the sperm donor's height. I loved basketball, and being 5' 1" was really disappointing. Donor is listed as 6' 2" so that'd be nice.
DH and I are both laid back and nerdy, so I hope we get a kid who likes STEM and school. I don't know how I'd handle an artsy and emotional child. I'm sure is figure it out, but that's so much the opposite of myself that it would be harder for me to relate to.
I also hope for my lack of allergies. It seems everyone these days has some crazy allergies, and I'd love for my kid to not have to deal with that.
Me:32 DH:45 DSD: 20 DSS: 18 Team green baby due: Aug 6th, 2018
@legallykate Our hospital provides a child birth class but it’s
all day on a Saturday or Sunday and you can’t go until you are at least 32
weeks. I don’t know that we will have
any free weekends at that point so we may just have to wing it. We will be taking an infant CPR class; we
agreed that it was really important that we were comfortable with that.
@brezzy1928 I just started feeling the baby move and it has
been such a relief. Be patient – it’s worth
the wait!
How far along are you/how big is baby? 20+2; he's measuring a little ahead of schedule so we will say a puffer fish today
How are you feeling? I'm feeling fine and starting to relax again after a stressful A/S last week. The bump is way more obvious this week so I'm trying to get comfortable with that. I don't mind having a bump but I don't like people commenting on it so I'm still hiding it a little under sweaters.
Rants/raves/questions? A friend gave me two huge bags of maternity clothes over the weekend so I feel like I have a whole new wardrobe. Any appointments this week? Yesterday we had a fetal echocardiogram which went very well with no concerns and that was reassuring. We also had our monthly exam with the OB. We mostly focused on last weeks A/S findings and what it all means but we still have to wait for amnio results and next week's scan before we are truly in the clear.
GTKY: (stolen from Tues ticker) What trait do you hope the baby gets from you, your SO, or another family member? Physically, I hope he has blue eyes because if he has eyes like mine people will say he looks like me (we used donor egg so he isn't getting any physical genetics from me). Otherwise, I hope he has a good sense of humor. H and I love to laugh so I want him to find the humor in everything too.

It's cool to see another donor mom here. I was conceived via donor, and now my kid is as well. I think it's awesome that we have those options!
Me:32 DH:45 DSD: 20 DSS: 18 Team green baby due: Aug 6th, 2018
@doctormom33 I think we're sending out about 55 invites but 30 are family (my mom has four brothers and sisters, all with daughters and daughter in laws, plus my husband's family). The issue is that we can't find a big enough space at a reasonable price, especially since they need to be okay with us bringing in kosher food for my in-laws. Right now our best bet is to find a hipster workshare/event space in Brooklyn and get some food catered in. My best friend used to do event planning for her sorority so I totally trust her ability to make an awesome shower, I just feel bad that finding a space is going to be challenging.

@melbel0824 I don't want to take any classes either. While I'm sure it'd be useful for a few things, on others I don't think we honestly need it. If I can't find out on Google or Youtube, I'll call my sister-in-law and ask stupid questions.
But my husband doesn't get off work till 4...it'd be an hour to drive there in 5pm metro traffic, 2-3 hours for the classes, then the hour drive back...and we are usually exhausted and in bed by 8pm (since he gets up at 3:30am for work). Just, no.
I might make an exception for an infant CPR course, but I think the local Red Cross and/or EMT's teach a course on that a few times a year, so we might look into doing that instead.
I'm beyond excited to sign up for every class that I can find lol @neeraja_k but the hospital is only like 5 minutes away. I completely understand why you're giving them a hard pass.
How far along are you/how big is baby? 21+1. TI-89 Calculator. I might take a picture with one, this week. How are you feeling? I'm exhausted again and super frustrated by it. Feeling consistent kicks helps calm me down, though. Rants/raves/questions? My mother is just overbearing. We won't talk to her about names so she decided to tell us what kind of names she likes/dislikes. It was beyond irritating. Any appointments this week? Nuh uh. GTKY: What trait do you hope the baby gets from you, your SO, or another family member? As far as character traits, I would love for the baby to be genuine and true to himself like his father. I think that's something that's becoming hard to come by. As far as physical traits, I just want the baby to have something of mine. My fiance's family has very strong genes.
@satin_doll My boss has decided he needs to have input on the baby's name and has a running list on his whiteboard. It's incredibly annoying and I ignore him as much as possible.
@jsnakehole That's cute! But they're 5-6, right? My boss is in his 50s and his name suggestions are along the lines of Thrymyr and Selene. Those are not cute and he mentions them at least once a day.
@satin_doll I've been avoiding discussing names with my mom as well, because as with everything else, her taste and mine never mesh and I don't want the drama this soon. But...she wrote out a whole list of girl names for me so far on school lined notebook paper. I looked over it briefly and threw it in the "baby junk box". Most were horrid. Nearly all sounded like "bitches in high school who bullied me" type of names, or blasé soap opera character names.
I think the only one on there I really liked was Sigrid, which is the name of a relative of ours in Germany. It's unusual, and rarely heard, which I like. And it's Scandinavian in origin and would work nicely with our Scandinavian last name.
@neeraja_k my mom and sister are STUCK on a name that I won't say here because I don't want to offend anyone...but it's awful. It is pretentious and gross to me. Sounds like an annoying, whiny child's name. But they keep bringing it up after we've already said we're fairly certain we are going with the name Miles.
They didn't like DS1's name, either, but both agree he has grown into it.

@Brezzy1928 My registry looks pretty sparse too. But - we are getting a lot of stuff from friends so I'm thinking that's why it looks so small.
How far along are you/how big is baby? 20w+2d, banana
How are you feeling?
20+4, banana
How are you feeling?
alright, joint pain/swelling has come back in full force.
Like, I know I probably should but I just don’t want to.
Any appointments this week?
Not until next week
GTKY: (stolen from Tues ticker) What trait do you hope the baby gets from you, your SO, or another family member? DH’s sister is pregnant with a girl too and their side of the family has really strong genes. All the men in the family for generations look almost identical. So, I’m really curious how similar our two girls will look.
Personality wise, I hope she gets DH’s sense of adventure and his culinary ability. I hope she gets my love for books.
@jsnakehole My shower is probably going to be about 50 people too. I’m not sure how it got that big though.
@doctormom33 I’m also still taking the diceglis, which definitely helps with the nausea but I feel like it’s making me even more tired that first tri. I’m only taking half the dosage, but getting up in the mornings is so hard.
@melbel0824 i have been super tired, but im not sure if the diclegis is really to blame as I've been sleeping very crummy in general. I usually only take it at night (because night and first thing in the morning are my worst times).

@legallykate Our hospital provides a child birth class but it’s all day on a Saturday or Sunday and you can’t go until you are at least 32 weeks. I don’t know that we will have any free weekends at that point so we may just have to wing it. We will be taking an infant CPR class; we agreed that it was really important that we were comfortable with that.
@brezzy1928 I just started feeling the baby move and it has been such a relief. Be patient – it’s worth the wait!
2017 - egg retrieval #1 - 3 eggs, 0 embryos appropriate for transfer; ER #2 2 eggs, 0 embryos on day 3; ER #3 1 egg 0 embryos
moved to donor egg in summer 2017; 35 eggs retrieved; 19 fertilized; 9 total embryos
Fresh transfer Dec 2017= BFP! baby boy born 8/22/18
May 2019 - surprise natural pregnancy ended in MC
Nov 2019 FET; MC at 9 weeks
May 2020 FET; BFN
July 2020 FET; CP treated with methotrexate
Oct 2020 BFP!
Take a look at my blog
My bump is painfully obvious, but no one comments on it. I wish they would! It makes me feel more self conscious that people may not notice that I'm pregnant? It's cool to see another donor mom here. I was conceived via donor, and now my kid is as well. I think it's awesome that we have those options!

Benched due to deployment- Off the bench 8/8/17!

I think the only one on there I really liked was Sigrid, which is the name of a relative of ours in Germany. It's unusual, and rarely heard, which I like. And it's Scandinavian in origin and would work nicely with our Scandinavian last name.
They didn't like DS1's name, either, but both agree he has grown into it.
