Morning! I was finally feeling like I had the energy to hit the gym before work. Laid out my clothes, set the alarm a half hour earlier. Now I’m sitting here in my gym clothes sipping coffee because I’m nervous to go. I’m afraid I’ll feel sick / get exhausted at the gym, even though that won’t matter bc it’s like a .2 mile walk from my apartment (it’s in my development). Ugh.
@ashh2018 Regardless of what you end up doing, I’d say that’s a win that you got up and got ready to go! Maybe you could just walk on the treadmill if you’re not feeling it?
AFM: I was MIA this weekend because I tried to stay unplugged while spending time with family. We stayed at a goat farm and got to hold one week old baby goats!!!!! (Pics in spoiler)
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
Me: 32 DH: 32 BFP #1: 1/23/2012 DD: Born 9/20/2012 BFP #2: 12/30/2017 DS: Due 9/10/2018
My midwife told me that this pregnancy wasn’t physically more difficult than the last one bc of lack of general fitness (which I had assumed bc I was very strong last time and not working out at all this time) but because my body has already been stretched out and abused once before. This makes me feel both excellent (not my laziness contributing) and very alarmed for the next two trimesters. Getting a maternity belt today.
@southernlady07 I was just thinking I really need a pick me up this morning and hoping something funny/cute would come up on these boards...the baby goats did it! That sounds like a fun relaxing weekend.
@southernlady07 what a great trip!!!! Goats are the best!!!!
@spottedginger I'm glad you mentioned this. I was just thinking about how I'm feeling so much more worn out this pregnancy and I think I was in better shape to start this time
I didn't mention anything last week but I got a call last Monday that my NT scan related blood work came back with a slightly increased risk for Down syndrome. Had additional blood drawn later that day and I just got the call from my OB's office that my Harmony blood tests came back all clear!! Or at least back to super low risk!! SO HAPPY!! Great way to start the week!!
We also had them include the test to determine baby's sex. I had the nurse call back and leave those results as a voicemail on my phone so MH and I can listen to it together tonight. So excited to find out!!

@DanyTargaryen glad you got some good news with your results, what a relief!
@southernlady07 those babies are so cute! What a great weekend!
Also, thank you @spottedginger for the comment about the fitness. I get tired so easily! But I know some additional exercise will do me good.
@ashh2018 only way to know is to try and getting out the door is the hardest step, so good job with that! I did some extra walking this morning too while getting ready, made me feel good.
@southernlady07 25 minutes on the treadmill is exactly what I did! It’s a 7ish minute walk to and from the gym so I got my confetti on my Fitbit for 30 minutes of activity lol. Feels like nothing but yes, getting up and going was a huge deal for me. Now all I need are some of those baby goats and I’ll be the happiest woman on earth.
The crib I want for this LO is Baby Cache brand and they have been exclusive to BRU. Well I just found a Baby Cache seller on Amazon! So either someone is someone is pulling a fast one and trying to pretend to be them or the company is trying to move their merchandise to Amazon since BRU will be gone soon.
Really hoping it's the latter option since I really want the same crib for this one as I have for DS.

@DanyTargaryen so glad you got good news today! I’m sorry for all the stress of last week though. I bought a Baby Cache dresser for DS’s big boy room at BRU final day clearance on Friday and am very excited because it is really nice.
@spottedginger - I'm glad you found a good one! We did Baby Cache for DS's crib, dresser, and changing table topper and it seems like really good quality for the price!

So Saturday we ended up getting 3-4" of really wet heavy snow. Fortunately it all melted off the driveway. Unfortunately they are calling for 6-12 more inches of snow starting tonight and then cold temps for the foreseeable future.... Wtf April???
@DanyTargaryen Congrats on the good update, and hooray for finding out the sex soon!
@mrsman2018 I don't think we've done ticker change posts, but there were checkins for first/second/etc. week of Sept. EDDs. I think maybe they went to monthly posts? IDK, I was trying to be good about not being on here too much and haven't posted in one yet.
Just got off the phone with our credit union. I have had to contact them MULTIPLE times to try and close one tiny account I have. This time I finally got an answer that made sense, but I had to call to get it figured out and now I'm shaky because I don't deal well with conflict. I'm going to see if there's any ice cream in our work freezer...

Currently sitting in the parking lot at Walmart waiting for my grocery pick up to be ready since we didn't shop this weekend and it's taking forever. Ugh I have so little patience after work and a big appetite lol.
I think I might be feeling baby move. The first few times I felt DS it was distinct pops closer to 17-18 weeks, but this is more of a vague internal squirmy feeling. Not sure if what I just felt was the first time I happened or just the first time I noticed it, but I'm assuming it was baby.

@DanyTargaryen I also got concerning screening results, but I couldn’t do the Harmony test so I had to do an Amnio...got the results today and everything is great! And we know the sex now too! So excited and relieved. I’m not ready to share yet, though...it’s been SUCH an emotional few days.
@MandyMost may I ask how the amnio was? Mine is scheduled for May 4, and I’m a little nervous, should I arrange for help w dd the next day or will it be fine to resume normal activities?? They haven’t walked me through it at all, I’m sure they will but i’m curious to hear personal experience too!

Note to self...no matter what time you eat dinner a midnight snack is not only okay but encouraged! Woke up and immediately got sick this morning but I think it is from my blood sugar getting too low in the night.
@mrsman2018 I think it would be fun to start up ticker changes again. I think when the board first got going there were too many threads and not a lot to report so a lot of threads got dropped.
@MandyMost - I'm sorry you also got concerning results originally, but I'm so happy for you to hear your amnio came back ok!!! In our practice the only way to get a first tri u/s is to opt-in to the NT scan so I do, but I definitely understand now why a lot of moms opt out.

@jhjocelyn I'm happy to share my amnio experience. First of all, I REALLY didn't want to do an amnio because of the (very, very slight) risks involved, but the concerning screening test I had made me weigh the risks and go for it. The worst part of the whole amnio experience was by far my fear and anxiety over a complication and/or getting back bad results.
Anyway, the actual experience: The do it in the ultrasound room, and they started with a regular ultrasound. Basically like the anatomy scan, where they start looking at everything. Then the doc came in, asked how I was, if I had any more questions, blah blah blah, talked to the tech and another doc about the best spot to put the needle, based on what they saw on the screen. Then wiped my belly with a bunch of iodine swabs. Then I closed my eyes! But the put the needle in...it feels like a regular needle stick, not pleasant but not bad either. It only takes a couple minutes max. Then they had me initial the 2 testtubes of fluid they had taken out, and we were done. The actual procedure literally took less than 5 minutes, start to finish, including the prep. But with the ultrasound first, I was there for 30-45 minuets.
My doc told me not to go to the gym, but otherwise normal activity was fine. I did try to take it a little easy, though. There was a bit of a cramp in the area they suck me, but otherwise I was fine. The next day we took my toddler to the zoo, and it really wasn't THAT much walking, but i started to get a cramp, and decided I just wanted to sit down and relax so we left a little early. It felt better after sitting for a while. The second day everything felt back to normal.
@MandyMost Thank you! We skipped the amnio last time knowing DD had a 25% chance of having cf, we monitored closely and let the newborn screen pick it up, since it wouldn’t change the first few days care anyways. Dd is a rainbow baby and we did not want to take any additional chances.
This time, we have the same 25% chance, but having cf experience now would prefer to know ahead and be prepared. If there is no cf we want to bank the cord blood to hopefully help dd in the future. If there is, we will prep our home, family, and medical teams ahead of time. Our amnio is set to be right after our anatomy scan, so that makes more sense knowing how they did it for you.

I’ve done so much of the calling etc to prep for the move in the past two days. Now I need to actually physically start packing trashing goodwilling etc all the things we own. Where did all this stuff come from?!?
@spottedginger I know the feeling! We have been trashing and goodwilling just cleaning and prepping for our remodel for the nursery. When I went to goodwill (the 4th time in 2 weeks) the guy asked me if we were moving. Nope, just cleaning out all the stuff in our home that we have acquired and kept for no good reason!
We had to clean out our master bedroom entirely for remodeling that's underway right now...we've only lived there a year and a half and it was like "where did this all come from?! Did we actually pay movers to move this here?!". Granted, we had a newborn when we bought the house and definitely didn't prioritize the master bedroom at the time!
Well I was told by a work acquaintance who already knew I was pregnant that I've definitely popped out this week. Not sure how I feel about it, can't deny it, but really not looking forward to comments for the next 5 months. I'm strongly of the opinion that all you need to say to a pregnant woman is how great they look, no comment on shape or size is necessary.
DH makes me go through my stuff a little at a time. I have trouble tossing out "sentimental" things (this is the puppy sweater we brought the dog home in... that we will never use again)
Also I'm super pumped because I just scheduled my interview for a coordinator position at work!!!!! I think I have a really good shot at it. But if course it's the day before my 8 hour engineering exam... So many big things!
Baby Cache has a notice on their website that their products are now available to order directly through their customer service department and that they're working to sell their products through other retailers. I'll be able to get the crib I want for this LO after all!!
(they were previously exclusive to BRU)

@nlc8424 I’m with you on the size comments. Last time around there was one coworker that spend the last 12 weeks of my pregnancy saying something along the lines of “OMG, you’re so huge! No, no I mean that in a good way!” every time she saw me. I was ready to punch her by the time I went on maternity leave. She’s already started with the you look so pregnant comments and I’m dreading it. Yesterday someone told me I looked very svelte when she found out how far along I was. I could have kissed her (even though I know it’s not really true)
@nlc8424@nackie Totally agree and I hate when people comment on it! Several people have said to me this week, "you're showing!" and it is so hard not to respond with a sarcastic comment about how that's what happens when you're pregnant...also, my eyes are up here, not on my stomach.
Me: 32 DH: 32 BFP #1: 1/23/2012 DD: Born 9/20/2012 BFP #2: 12/30/2017 DS: Due 9/10/2018
@nackie at my appt yesterday the student midwife warned we that we might not be able to hear baby's heartbeat because it was still really early. I told her that we heard it at 10 weeks and she said, "oh! That's awesome. It probably really helps that you are so petite." Petite as in skinny. She called me skinny She's my new favorite person. I don't even care that it's not true
Hate the size comments. Last time I was pregnant, I had a garage sale and this couple came through and the wife said I was wrong and I def had twins in there! So this past summer she shows up at my garage sale again and I had DD there. She remembered me and said, "I was sure you were having twins."
