FTM Check in - Week of 4/2

What's up FT Mamas?
As always, trying to make the format easier so let's just seen how far along we are and what we're tackling this week! Any new symptoms? Any questions?

Re: FTM Check in - Week of 4/2

  • I'm 26+2 today. The weekend was NOT the best food wise. Lots to celebrate (went to a baby shower+a bridal shower/dinner) and lots of driving ---> fast food. I love Texas but it's hard to find healthy choices!

Thankfully no heartburn and still sleeping ok. I do wake up a few times to adjust but I'm able to go back to sleep. Definitely noticed that my belly is becoming harder and more and more pronounced, it's pretty cool to see.

I'm a little anxious about approaching the third trimester and any changes that will come with that. I've had a lot of energy and I feel like I still need that to get things done. I guess I'll have to take it one day at a time.

I have my glucose test tomorrow morning and I'm trying to get back on track today. Can't wait to be done with it! I also have my monthly check-up after that - anxious to hear the hb since as always I freak out when LO isn't moving as much on certain days.

  • 26 weeks exactly today. This weekend was super busy and full and I feel like we were barely home and didn't make any progress with the nursery.  We have plans to work hard next weekend to continue putting it together.

Saw a movie Saturday. Baby girl was bouncing all over the place during it. She's been very active this whole weekend and isn't slowing down today either. Tomorrow is my next checkup, and then within the next 2 weeks is my glucose test.

We leave for baby moon in 2 weeks. When we booked it I was nervous with how I'd be feeling by then, but I'm still feeling great. Belly is getting big but looking forward to spending a week with DH being lazy and enjoying sun and a pool.

23 + 4 today. Feeling pretty good overall. Heartburn does seem to be getting more frequent and more intense but not unbearable. I’ve also been having some back pain but again nothing so crazy I can’t function. I am a little worried about these things getting worse in the 3rd trimester.   :s

@kissableviv good luck on your glucose test!

@rachelsogo I’m super jealous of your baby moon!

Edited bc I screwed up how far along I am lol
  • @rachelsogo I have an anterior placenta and the babe isn't that big yet so I don't feel as much movement, boo! We are leaving in 3.5 weeks. I'm also feeling like I'll probably be ok and I was nervous initially. Looking forward to it but this month will be so busy!

I'm definitely getting on the nursery business this coming weekend. We're desperately trying to get rid of a mega desk we have in there and so far we have gotten no bids on Craigslist. It's ridiculously heavy so I can't move it. I just want it gone so bad...
  • 26+4 Um, where is the time going? 94 days left?! DH is officially in freak out mode over here and has a laundry list of stuff to get done. Meanwhile I'm sort of like "meh, the nursery is mostly done, so we'll figure out the rest later, gonna take a nap now".

I've been really tired the last couple days, but I think that might be more my seasonal allergies. I can't take my beloved sudafed (the real kind, not the sudafed pe), so I'm praying allergy season isn't too bad, but my eyes are pretty itchy already. Booooo! And I've escaped the heartburn for now, but have to eat really tiny meals otherwise I feel so overfull, like I ate two thanksgiving dinners back to back. And my back is killing me, I can't find a comfy position other to lay down, which makes work difficult.

  • @noideawhatshesdoing for some reason I went from being a side sleeper to a back sleeper, perfect timing. I also don't feel super comfortable sitting down for too long. I keep crossing my legs which is something I'm trying to avoid. Belly is officially visible now so it's only gonna get worse!
  • 24+1...other than this sore throat, I'm managing. Still have insomnia however I'm beginning to just adapt to the lack of sleep. I've been in bed all day because of the sore throat. Have no energy to do anything today, not even shower.

I have a dentist appointment tomorrow to have my crown put on. I don't see my ob until next Friday. Since I've had bariatric surgery I don't be doing the normal glucose test. Still waiting for instructions on what will happen.

  • @kissableviv I've been trying to avoid the leg crossing too. Ugh. Just so bad! I think I'm going to have to try a sacrum belt. Just suddenly so uncomfortable,  not sure what else to do.

@zombiehoohaa good luck at the dentist!
  • Hi ladies! I’ve been so MIA bc work has been all consuming. I’m too old (38) and too pregnant (26w tomorrow) to work 4.30am-11pm... and glad things are calming down starting tomorrow before we leave Thursday night to babymoon in Spain for 10 days.

I’m both excited and nervous about going so far away... feeling a little better knowing others are going late too @rachelsogo and @kissableviv.  When we return we need to get our asses into gear... we’ve got a car seat and nothing else. No pediatrician. No childcare classes scheduled. No registry. No sleeping surfaces. No breast pump research. Nothing!

Are you guys starting to get the stomach contractions (assuming Braxton Hicks?)... bc I am. And this baby better stay put!
  • @pretzellover have an amazing trip! I'm insanely jealous!
  • @pretzellover have so much fun in Spain!! I just had my checkup today and asked about traveling. She said wear compression socks if you’re planning on sleeping and staying stationary all flight. Otherwise if you’re up and down, peeing, figiting and such, should be ok. I’ve been getting BH’s! I asked dr about that too. I assumed it was baby leaning and putting pressure, but they’re BH’s. She said it’s totally normal to have them; just make sure they’re not painful, consistent or have any spotting. But random tummy tightening is normal.

  • @pretzellover have so much fun! I'll be 30 weeks when I go, EEEEEK! I have not been getting BH but I hear it's normal to get them.

Well, I definitely have too many baby clothes! 80% are hand me downs. Definitely getting the dresser/changing table this weekend so I can start putting things away in actual drawers...
  • Thanks @noideawhatshesdoing @kissableviv and @rachelsogo! Starting to feel like our last hurrah for awhile...
Im gonna see if I can get some compression tights or socks in a hurry on Amazon...hmm. That’s a great call. I’ve actually gotten a blood clot on a plane before so need to be careful.

  • @pretzellover the color sucks but these have worked great for me!

  • 24+2 today- Im with you kissableviv this weekend was a fail food wise.  I’ve been so un-motivated to cook I just eat whatever is around (mainly waffles, or bread or just carbs in general)

    -       Just started having insomnia this week which is horrific

    -       And my ribs on my right side and back on my left side have been killing me

But on the bright side baby girl has been so active and kicking lately, I love feeling her!

DH has been bugging me to do the wallpaper in the nursery so he can help.  We start our master bath renovation next week so he is anxious to get it done and help before he is consumed by that.  I am not looking forward to my master bath being under construction in my third trimester but he promises it will be done before she arrives (if only he knew when she was coming haha)

  • Hey Mamas, sorry it’s taken me a while to reply!

@kissableviv I am also afraid of the new things that will come of the third trimester.

Im 25+6, Im feeling great. I’m getting nervous about everyone talking about preparing their nurseries, I’m so not there yet. My plan is to work on that after my shower in May- am I waiting too long? I am super organized in general but now I am feeling like I’m in a time crunch.

What if the baby comes early?

now people are telling me to get Newborn size things, I didn’t even know that was a thing- everyone says babies don’t even wear them for long, so size up- I’m will someone’s just tell me what to do lol.

I also have to get on with my breast pump from insurance.

Was going to do a small babymoon this week, but I’d rather save money for baby prep, we are doing a date night instead. I’m jealous of you ladies going far!!! Good for you! Enjoy every second!
  • @kissableviv Thanks for the recommendations! I just ordered a pair. I love taking my shoes off on the plane and walking around in socks..might as well have them be compression socks.

  • @kissableviv ditto what @rachelsogo said! I got them in black and hope it’s an uneventful flight and trip!
  • Hi all - I've been super MIA due to work but taking a small break this afternoon to check in!

I'm 24+4, feeling tired due to combo of working long hours and not sleeping very well. Also starting to get some back and hip pain, and I think I've been feeling a few BH contractions myself over the last week I'd say - relieved that others have been feeling them as I would have otherwise thought it was too early.  I feel them quite low in my pelvis - but it's definitely a tightening sensation.  I have my next check-up on Tuesday and am planning on doing the glucose test then... nervous about 'the drink' and of course the results.  Sad that I'm planning on bringing my laptop to do work during the 1-hour wait *face palm*... was really looking forward to a nice quiet hour of recreational reading.  Working full-time plus while growing ever more pregnant is tough! I just want to nap!!

Weird symptom - has anybody else been experiencing extremely dry mouth at night?  It is waking me up multiple times during the night and is so unbearably uncomfortable.  I fall asleep with my mouth closed, as I am typically a nose breather, so I'm unsure if I'm ending up breathing through my mouth during sleep or if something else is going on.  I drink tons of water during the day and never experience this during the day... idk it's really messing with me.  It's on my list of questions to ask the doctor but just wondering if I'm alone in this or not.

  • @canucklehead123 I’ve been experiencing dry mouth at night and agree it’s so uncomfortable. I know for a fact I’ve started mouth breathing since becoming pregnant because my sinuses have been super swollen. But you aren’t alone!
  • I’ve also been MIA but I try to follow along! 27+1 today and doing well. Back and hip pain are a constant nightly thing and I’m ALWAYS hungry. Lol. Trying not to panic when baby girl has a couple less active days but it’s so stressful. Other than that I’m doing well and can’t wait to meet my baby :)

hope all the ladies doing a babymoon have a blast! I’m jealous!!

    double post :(
  • I'm 26 weeks & baby feels like it's growing a ton - I keep getting crampy feelings in my abdominal muscles like the type of side cramps you get from running, and also tingly/numb abs.
Also have found that there is TONS of birth photography on Instagram and have been all over it recently - ive actually found it super inspiring and it gets me really pumped up for labor!
  • @ckmb_knottie I’ve been getting those crampy feelings too. Like a side stitch. I asked my dr about them and she said it’s most likely just your tummy just stretching. Usually I get them and they go away after an hour or so, but it happened to me last night while I was eating dinner, and I still feel it this morning. Almost like I pulled a muscle or something.

  • @ckmb_knottie Ive been feeling those too. Kind of catches me off guard when I feel it. Have to control my breathing a bit more because it's like a tightness feeling on my sides.
