  • @funkykey Yup - but it took us 7 IVFs (6 plus insemination of my frozen eggs) that included two cycles with no blasts, and two with all abnormal to get those (plus the one we transferred in November - so yes, 6 remaining). Banked because I’m 40 now.  After *TW* miscarrying the first one we transferred back in November, we freaked out that the 4 we had left wouldn’t be enough, so wanted to see if we could make any more.  We’re tired and done with retrievals!

I do love the ritual of getting coffee every morning.  Sometimes because my office is cold I’ll get a mug of hot water just to hold it. Not quite the same though ;)

Okay back in business! Start my two estrace pills tonight...wooo getting real ladies :)

does anyone on here take ovasitol? So I realized I forgot to take it all the way through to retrieval and now I guess I’ll start taking again tongiht through hopefully FET and pregnancy. I hate that this crap is powder in packs I always forget. Rather take a pill any day!

@mcgeeva. Yay! So glad everything worked out. I’ve never heard of ovasitol. That would be really annoying to have to deal with a powder.

@J1006 yeah super annoying I forget alllll the time bc you have to mix it in a drink twice a day. It’s a metformin substitute bc metformin made me sick both ways so bad I lost ten pounds the last time I was on it in the first month.

@roisis I am so sorry. I know how disappointed you must feel. The month will pass, give your body a break, we are only human. We are here if you ever need an ear.
@kristimh80 , I am still try to add to spreadsheet but I am a mobile.
@artemis618 yeah, I felt so alone oon the natural cycle boat. So do you know yet when they are doing the transfer?

I had my transfer yesterday, just had a valium and really didn't feel much duriing the procedure (and i was really bad during the hsg tests). Then laid there for 15 minutes and was told it was ok to go home. I was very tired when I got home and slept most of the day. And I  was home today top...didn't do much, lounge around house, but did go to the supermarket and get some grocery.

  • @kristimh80 I do that all the time too. I finally clued in and split my pills into two bottles and kept a small amount of both Estrace and Prometrium in my purse for when I forgot to take it at home or forgot to plan ahead and bring my next doses with me.

@smittenkitten_aka_knottie821 Congrats on being PUPO! :). NO, apparently as of this (Friday) morning, I STILL hadn’t ovulated.  Hoping Thursday was my LH surge day, and hopefully I ovulated today (Friday) and will wake up to a nice temp spike tomorrow morning (which I think would keep me on track for Wednesday).  Regardless, I have to drive 40 miles each way to the main clinic (the only location open on weekends) for my FIFTH blood draw of the week and an ultrasound.  I was given the option to trigger last (Thursday) night (which would have our transfer next Thursday), but thought because I FINALLY got my +opk late Wednesday night, I wouldn’t have to. So we’ll see.

What, if anything, are you doing for progesterone support and when did you start?  I learned this AM that I’d likely be on two Endometrin a day instead of 4 like I was on medicated cycle, or maybe 1cc of PIO if I go that route instead.  Although total tangent - DH was watching Icarus (Netflix movie) tonight about the cyclist who duplicates Lance Armstrong’s doping protocol, and got to thinking it’s a lot like IVF with the hcg and hgh - but watching the guy give himself IM injections (I think they were testosterone) made me cringe so I may have wussed out of PIO right then!  I don’t really want to take anything but will reluctantly to cover my bases.

@kristimh80 @tosh24 I also kept a second bottle of Estrace in my purse with me when I was on it for my last transfer.

@tosh24 Did you take the prometrium vaginally?  I inquired about taking it orally (assuming I’d get some “credit” for progesterone my corpus luteum is making) trying to avoid icky suppositories and scary shots, and learned that it’s not FDA approved orally for use with IVF.  I guess I should have figured.  I wonder when sub-q progesterone will be approved here *sigh*.

@mcgeeva Does Ovositol have inositol in it?  I guess I could google.  I’ve taken inositol for various other things in the past, but I’m not terribly consistent about it.  I’m not PCOS, but lately I wonder if I’m insulin-resistant because I’m hungry all the time (when I was younger I just thought it was my metabolism - my a1c was fine in 12/2016 - I have a physical scheduled for next Friday so will request it again then).  Do you find it effective as a metformin substitute (and in what dose)?

  • @artemis618 I had to take them vaginally  :s I just wear a liner with them although some days I don't feel any leakage and some days there's a lot. I dunno. At my last clinic they had compounded suppositories in little silicone moulds and I much preferred those to the prometrium. Felt like I got less leakage. I'll still take the prometrium over the Estrace any day, though!

Thanks so much, @kristimh80!  I was disappointed not to wake up to a temp spike this morning (admittedly my input data integrity hasn’t been all that), but we FINALLY saw a corpus luteum on ultrasound today!  So I definitely ovulated sometime between yesterday morning and this morning (just grateful my body is working at this point!), BUT we have to wait to see what the blood work tells us to determine on what day we’ll transfer (probably Thursday, but maybe still Wednesday?).

@tosh24 Just confirmed with my RE that I won’t need any Estrace (the nurse insisted that I would, but we saw my RE in the hallway and he confirmed I wouldn’t - woo hoo - and also the whole reason I wanted natural cycle even though I’ve now had blood drawn 5x in one week).  I *may* be able to get away with just one Endometrin at night, but we’ll see.  Apparently I will supplement at least a few days prior to transfer, but I have to wait to receive emailed instructions based on this morning’s blood work.

  • @artemis618 Yay!! That's a big step in the right direction! At least, either way, you won't be put off that much in timing.

I'm finally coming off this cold...I can smell again, which is exciting! Thinking I'm not going to having wine or drinks this weekend. Part of me thinks this maybe the last chance for a long time, but other part thinks that Tuesday isn't far away so why bother. I'm not a huge drinker anyways, but after spending all this $$...idk if it's worth the risk. Probably doesn't matter and I'm just in my own head! lol

  • @artemis618 YAY for ovulating!! How many days till your transfer from here?

@kristimh80 I’m sick too!!  Idk what has got me but man oh man I feel Sooooo run down! I am Stuffy but not terribly, a little cough, but no fever ... I’m hoping it’s just allergies but this sucks! It’s lounging all day on the couch for me today!

AFM, next appointment is Tue and everything is looking good and on schedule for now.
  • @ndz2018 Yes!! That's exactly the crap I've had for a week!! My DH had it for like a day, then it took over my life for a week. Hope you get to feeling better!! I still don't know if mine is just allergies, but Nyquil helped a ton for decongesting.

  • @kristimh80 @ndz2018 Thanks!  Transfer will be Thursday 4/5, and I’ll start Endometrin tablets up the hoo ha 2x daily on Monday.  Sorry to hear you ladies are sick - I’ve been taking PNVs for over two years now, and I swear they’ve helped me stay healthier than when I wasn’t taking them.  I don’t really miss drinking that much - may have a glass of wine with dinner in the next week, and will get some sushi some time before Thursday.  Otherwise, a Thursday transfer means DH and I can squeeze in one more adult tumbling class on Tuesday and I can still get a massage Wednesday night :p

    Hope you’re enjoying your weekends!

  • @ndz2018 and @artemis618 tanks you....waiting = torture.
@artemis618 yeah for finally getting a transfer date.  my RE didn't give me ANY medication! That's why I feel so worried. I specifically asked 2x at least if i need any progesterone after and she said no...just hoping my body makes some nature progesterone. I went in for blood work almost every day last week so like 6x, so i feel your pain. What was your last progesterone level?
  • This estrace is kicking my butt. I started it on Monday night and I have been both starving and nauseous pretty much the whole time. This morning I started crying super hard while watching re-runs on tv.

Where can I find the spreadsheet? I want to update it.

  • @smittenkitten_aka_knottie821 You know, they didn’t even tell me...I’m guessing they’ll test it again at my appointment Wednesday (the day before transfer)?  I was really hoping to get away with no medication - especially because when we did my natural cycle ERA in January I had none (and wasn’t the point to replicate that?  But my progesterone was only like 12 that day, and 18 the last time I had it tested on CD21...I guess it varies)...but I guess I’ll take the progesterone to make sure my bases are covered.  At least it’s less/half as many inserts as on the last medicated protocol I did.

Your body is creating all the estradiol and progesterone it would for a natural pregnancy, so should be enough unless you have reason to think you have a luteal phase defect or something (my luteal phase has never been shorter than 14 days...and with my *TW* natural pregnancy we got to 2 days shy of 12 weeks, so my body’s done it before).  Presumably they checked your levels and weren’t concerned?

  • @artemis618 I wish they would communicate better with us...it's like pulling teeth to get information and I hate that I have to keep asking!
Your numbers are so high compared to my, but it might be the day they took the labs from you, supposedly you at max natural progesterone around cd21.
The last progesterone they did on me was on CD18 and it was 1.6. I ovulated sometime between cd16-cd17. So they did labs to confirm on cd18. When I asked the nurse again on cd18 if I need to take anything after retrieval (which was 5 days later), she said no.
I don't think I have any luteal phase defects. I did a natural cycle in Feb. And I had AF exactly 14 days after!
I am going to call them again tokmorrow to see if I need to take it to confirm again!

Anyone else have their progesterone levels check around ovulation?
  • @smittenkitten_aka_knottie821 I had mine taken right last week to make sure I had ovulated so could start progesterone.

  • HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!

TW I just came from my brother house and my SIL is 16 weeks preg... I know they struggled and went through IVF and stuff and I am
really really happy for them but it still kinda hurts seeing any preg person. There so much uncertainty with FET I wanna be excited but I also want to be prepared, emotionally, if it doesn’t happen the first time ugh sorry just needed to vent TW
  • @smittenkitten_aka_knottie821 Oh no, sorry for any confusion - those were indeed day 21 (or 7 days post-O) numbers, so for people who ovulate on time (unlike me post-lupron stim cycle), peak would be after transfer.  I didn’t mean to concern you. I think right after ovulation they just look for higher than 1?  As of Friday morning I still hadn’t ovulated and my P4 was 0.9.  Presumably yesterday (Saturday) morning’s # was higher since we saw the CL and that’s what they used to determine what day my transfer would be - but the weekend nurse didn’t give me my #s (For me it depends on which nurse I get communicating the info.  Some are better than others as far as just emailing me the #s and others will only call me, and I have to ask - but it’s hard for me to take personal calls during business hours).  I can report back with my day before transfer P4 # when I get it (and can ask about my Saturday AM # then) if you’re still curious.  I start Endometrin tomorrow, but it doesn’t really show up in blood work.

I’d imagine they would give you progesterone support if it would make you feel better, but the Endometrin I did last time (and will do this time, but only 2x a day) is no fun :(

Is your beta this coming Saturday?

  • @artemis618, omg, I was so worried my numbers were so low. I was hoping it was just the day they did you P4 compared to my labs. But thank you for confirming.
I feel better now, knowing your numbers were close to my pre-ovulation number. And yes I would be interested in knowing your numbers day of ovulation and after (even if we are all different, it still gives me an idea).

I know what you mean about taking personal calls...I am in the medical field but there is no privacy for medical professional on the job!

I will call tomorroow and speak to the nurse again and see what she tells me & .maybe suggest taking progesterone (I get shots during ivf, ouch)
My beta is actually next monday, April 9th...such a long wait...torture...I just want to POAS already but will probably get disappointed and get bummed if it doesn't show up.
  • @kristimh80 what were your P4  numbers at ovulation?

@ndz2018 ((hugs)) I totally understand where you are coming from. We just got home from my SIL's where she has 3 adorable young kids. My husbands family has the opposite problem...bunch of breeders! His parents have 13 grandkids...my poor mom. I wish she had more kids and didn't have to rely on me. I'm the same way about the FET...cautiously optimistic!

@smittenkitten_aka_knottie821 My progesterone was a 0.3 as of last Monday. Week prior to transfer.

  • @smittenkitten_aka_knottie821 Oops, I was mistaken - my P4 on Thursday (LH surge day) morning was 0.9 (as compared to two Fridays ago and last Monday when it was <0.2) and my LH was 37.6.  So I’ll inquire about my Friday AM and Saturday AM #s when I go in on Wednesday.  Apparently it Friday AM it wasn’t high enough to convince them that I’d ovulated, but sort of annoyingly, they didn’t scan me.
