Worried! Hope someone can help!

Not sure if this suppose to be in a certain thread but I could use some reassurance.

So I went to my next ultrasound today, I should be somewhere around 5 weeks 2. The sac has definitely grown since Tuesday but the doctor couldn't see anything inside. She said she thought she might see a yolk sac but only gave me a 50% chance that is what she was looking at. She wanted me to do more bloodwork today and come back in on Monday. Needlessly to say, I am not a mess. Does anyone have a similar experience that turned out okay?

At 5 weeks, I was told it's too early to see the fetal pole inside the sac. I was 5w3d when I went for mine, and they only saw the gestational sac and a small yolk sac.
And 10 days later my betas we're climbing well. Unfortunately I don't have another US until 12 weeks though. But the doc told me you wouldn't expect to see the fetal pole until 6 weeks

Hi @bfpafter4years, I'm sorry you're going through this. Have you had many rounds of bloodwork taken? Wondering if they're showing normal results.

My BW was good last week. My first draw was 273, then 537, then 1399. The started giving me ultrasounds after the last draw. I have had three so far and the sac has gotten bigger each time but still nothing inside. They are testing my hcg today and I will find out if it rose appropriately.

5w2d sounds very early to see anything at all. Yolk sac is the first thing to be able to be seen. I don’t have experience because the earliest I’ve had an ultrasound was 6w5d and we saw my son’s HB right away. I hope your numbers come back good! Is it at least growing on track?

Could you be a little off with the dates and maybe even earlier on then 5w2d? Because if you are it would make even more sense to not see much. But so far everything sounds like it is progressing! Numbers have been rising and yolk sac growing! I hope you see a sweet little fetal pole on Monday

This is why my doctor won’t do an US before 7 weeks. It can cause so much needless worry.

@CopperBoom86 I go to an RE so they start checking super early and then do a scan every week until 12 weeks.

@purplefan1 that is what I am hoping for. They already pushed it back once. According to my last period, I should be 5 weeks 5 days but I usually don't ovulate until at least cd17. Which would make me 5 weeks 2 day (which is what the sac is measuring at). But maybe it was even later and I am closer to 5 weeks? However, my bfp would have been really early then.

Update: my RE called, my numbers came back looking good. They more than doubled at 6393 (doubling would have been 5600). I am trying to stay optimistic.

I have experience with this and unfortunately **TW* mine was a blighted ovum. The giveaway for me was that I went from very stong pregnancy symptoms to nothing in a few days. **end TW**

What I will say though is that between 5-6 weeks, it is really hard to know what is going on because things can develop early or late ans not seeing anything early doesn't have to mean anything.

The fact that pregnancy is measuring on time is a really good sign, especially if levels have continued to double. Fx everything is fine!!

@vrj0522 with your BO, did your numbers still double? *TW* I also had a BO about two years ago that stopped developing around this time but wasn't discovered until 9 weeks. I know my numbers with that pregnancy were never great and never quite doubled but still rose. *End TW*

Grow baby grow! Keep in mind that even if you know when you ovulate that there is a wide variety of time for implantation (6-12 days I think?). I am so hopeful for you and can't wait to hear more updates!

@bfpafter4years - *tw* they did double initially, when I first went in at 4 weeks. However, when I went in at 5+5, they did an u/s and the pregnancy was measuring at 4+6, which is when I stopped having symptons. I knew that wasn't possible because I had been temping and knew the exact day I had ovulated.
