Hi Ladies I am 36 weeks pregnant. I have always wanted to have my first two about 18 months apart. Once the baby is born should I get on birth control or just use condoms? Any ideas? I am afraid birth control may mess up my cycle and I want to breast feed as well not sure I want my baby getting that in their system.
Re: What birth control is best after baby
before DS i was on the pill for almost 10 years (treat endo). My cycles remained normal after coming off it and took less than 6 months to get pregnant. After DS was born i didn’t get my period until after i stopped breastfeeding but i don’t recall taking anything for BC until then. I wasn’t reacting to the pill well with my endo so i tried the iud (kyleena). My body still wasn’t acting right after 7 months. I got it removed and my periods got screwed up and I’m pretty sure it was from the iud. *TW Got pregnant two months later but also had another surgery and had a huge scare of possible loss because i was measuring behind (thanks to me newly changed cycle length).* I will never do the iud again.
Also it’s a myth that you can’t get pregnant while breastfeeding. It happened to my mom and a few friends. Stick to condoms if you can. I think there is a mini pill you can take while BFing.
