@doxiemoxie212 hope the rest of today ends up being a great day for you guys. And I'm really hoping your friends decide to split that cost cause this is YOUR shower... you should not be putting up money for it.

@doxiemoxie212 happy shower day! Just remember it's a day to celebrate your baby girl so no matter what it'll be great!
AFM today is also my shower. The cavalry left an hour ago to begin set up and I'll be leaving in a few minutes. I really hope things go well... TW** I'm mostly worried for my mom to stay sober and not ruin it as we celebrate our LO!
I'm annoyed today. Dh went to a friend's for a poker night yesterday. Afterrrr working all day. And didn't get home and in bed till after 230. Then did try to be nice and woke up with ds at 715 to let me sleep (which, I was up anyways so I got up not long after). So he's tired obvi. Ds just wants to play with him today, so he's been half assing some playtime. I've been making sure to stay busy... making lasagna, folding 2 baskets of laundry and putting it away, sorting ds warm weather clothes, getting new baskets of laundry ready to go downstairs, including a baby clothes basket, and do them all later.... purposely, so he sees that just cause you're tired (hello. Sore and tired daily), shit needs done. Cause we have a baby room NOWHERE near ready. And he won't get another chance to work on that for 2 wks... and we'll be down to 7 wks left, if not sooner.
I did give him 2 minor things I need him to do today. And then said I was going to vacuum... cause I knew he'd force me to stop and do it himself (which he's currently doing) cause I know how to 'work' him. He'll now spend the evening apologizing that he didn't get anything done and feel guilty... which will atleast make up for nothing in that room getting done lol.

We've been working on the nursery all weekend. It's not even close to being done. I'm ready to hire someone else to finish it!
I also had to argue with Wal-Mart for the changing table to be sent to us. We ordered it as a set with the dresser, and we got the dresser but no changing table. They wanted me to send the already assembled dresser back, and once they got that they'd send us the set again. So it's be here in another month or so. I told Roberto he was out of his mind if he thought we were taking apart the dresser we spent hours putting together. He eventually got the idea .
Oh, and I can see baby's kicks on the outside now. Big news for a chunky monkey like myself! Also really freaky, so I don't know how any of you were productive once it started for you!
Update: shower start time was 23 minutes ago but setup is still underway so I went down and then immediately came back up to our apt bc I felt bad just sitting around watching people try to setup but my legs really hurt and I really do need to sit...
I've been busy - travelling all day yesterday and the time difference etc. (a 9hr flight/connection time is hard work being pregnant) but just stopping in to say to @doxiemoxie212 I hope the actual shower part is fun for you and it all ends up worth it and @stephcat421 I hope yours is fabulous as well.
AFM my English family surprised me with a second mini shower today and it was so nice having all my cousins, aunts, old friends together again. And I got some more small gifts, mostly clothes and thankfully I think I have enough room in my suitcase to fly it back home!
@doxiemoxie212@stephcat421 have fun at your showers today! At this point whatever is going to happen is going to happen so just let it go and enjoy it.
@izza2 I regularly sit at my desk and just stare at my stomach. So far no one has caught me doing it otherwise they might start to question my productivity.
AFM...DH and his buddies are downstairs doing their baseball draft. I went just a little extra not full on extra. I did get Cracker Jacks and made while chocolate covered Oreos like baseballs. I went to yoga when they all got here to kill some time but it’s been three hours and they are still going.
Yesterday MH installed an outlet and cable above our mantle so we could finally get rid of the extension cord running down the wall. We got a quote from an electrician and they quoted $1600. MH did it for about $80! I’m really proud of him it looks so good!
In other news, I have been writing thank you cards for gifts that came early as they come. I got some sleepers from my cousin and immediately wrote the thank you, sealed it, stamped it and put it in the mailbox. When I went to the mailbox I found another package and it was a book from the same cousin. I debated writing an new thank you note but said eff it.

@doxiemoxie212 can’t believe they just told you today. My old apartment had a similar rule. I threw DH a party (for the first time) in 2013 they said in order to have the club house exclusively and set up it was $500. So i set up by the pool (free) and we still got to use the inside area.
We are going out for dinner tonight with my parents as an early birthday celebration. @catlady1215 I echo your sentiments about birthdays falling on Easter- mine falls on Good Friday this year but has been on actual Easter several times as well. Growing up in a super Catholic family, there was nothing enjoyable about going to mass 3 days in a row for all the Easter week services over your birthday weekend .
Hope everyone feels a bit refreshed after the weekend and ready to go for another week. Always getting closer to the end ladies!
We had daylight savings here overnight. Not sure if you all did as well? Anyway, I had no idea. This morning my son was up at 6:45 and I couldn't figure out why it was so dark...or why it felt godawful to be up. Now I realize it was actually like 5:45 to my body. No wonder. We were both grumpy all day, too.
i think I need to simmer down on house projects. I completely redid the front garden beds and also undertook learning how our irrigation system works bc someone ran over a sprinkler head and I didn’t want to pay the fee for someone to come fix it. Meanwhile DH is playing PS4 lol.
@krashke I've had the same frustration with thank you notes.
Sometimes I can check invoices and see if another gift is shipping separately on the same order. (Doesn't work if the gifts are ordered separately or from different stores.)
Anyone else oddly happy to reach 30 weeks? Being in the 30s just feels so close to the end. I’ll officially be 30 weeks on Tuesday I’m amped.
Im enjoying some sun right now just sitting outside. Since easter is next week and I think winter is officially done AND I have no more boardline clothes (regular clothes that fit) I’m about to do the final sweep of my side of the master closet since thats where the nursery will be.
Today I drove home from a week at my mom's today. I am so impressed with myself because I only stopped once (1 hour into our 6 hour drive). By the time I got home, my bladder was bursting but the discomfort was worth not disturbing the sleeping/content toddler
Super random but a while ago we were talking about legalized marijuana and pot shops. Between my house and my mom's I drive across the whole state of Washington and everytime I drive it, there are more billboards for pot shops. I giggle at some of the creatively named stores I see. Today I drove by Ganja Vita, Mari Mart, Sativa Sisters, Cannabis Connection and The Grass Station (connected to a gas station). I couldn't make this stuff up...
Putting this delightful little turkey to bed.... I told her at dinner she couldn't take a bath until bedtime. (She would take 8 baths a day if we let her). While I was clearing the table she went to play.... this is what I found. Welp, it's not quite a "bath".
@stephcat421 glad the shower went well!! Can't wait to see pics tomorrow.
AFM I decided to give MH some much needed attention and planned an intimate evening. Long story short, we were trying several new things and ended up breaking our bed. Like the baseboard cracked and the mattress slammed to the ground. We both had a pretty good laugh about it, but I'm gonna have to add a trip to Ikea to my day tomorrow.

Do we need an after-dark thread to find out what new things you were trying @Amphibious22? If you broke your bed, we must know what you were doing! You know... to "avoid doing it" ourselves.
Speaking of @meg95995's nursery mention; if no one minds, I think I may try to dig up and bump the nursery inspo thread that we had going for a while. Figured it could be re-used for not only more inspiration, but sharing everyone's nurseries that are interested?
@doxiemoxie212 - I hope the shower turned out well in the end. It blows that you were right on about things falling apart.
@Amphibious22 - LOL at breaking the bed, but not at the last minute expense of needing to buy a new one.
@twelvetwosomeonenew - One of my coworkers suggested Zinni Optical as well. I looked a little bit at the website but I'm so new to what he needs size wise it's a little overwhelming. I don't wear glasses and DH mainly wears contacts and it's much help when it comes to ordering stuff online. I think we'll look into it in the future when he's a little older and there are more options to fit his little head. Most of the kid glasses he tried on were 125mm or longer for the temple length, which was all too long for him.
First Son - born 2013

@Amphibious22 LOL. We broke our Ikea bed a few years ago, the whole platform cracked and we fell through on one side, haha. Good thing the bed was pretty low to the ground so it wasn't a long fall.
@izza2 all I'll say is we were getting creative with positions to accommodate my belly.
@bearmoons haha yeah I was the only one on the bed at the time but MH said my face was hilarious. And our bed is pretty high so it was quite the fall. I'm still going back to Ikea though because I really liked our frame and don't feel like trying to find a different one.
Me 30 Him 30 Married August 2015 DS born 5/23/2018 TTC #2 July 2020
@Amphibious22 no, continue because I don't actually want to have sex at all, but I was thinking last night about how if I did, I literally don't know how we'd do it because 1) belly is huge, 2) ribs are sore AF, 3) hips are sore AF and I'm not allowed to open my knees wider than hip width, 4) I have sore wrists and can't put pressure on them. Like, spoons with my legs closed? I think that would still hurt my hips. Maybe I could lean over a table? But I don't think that sounds very comfortable. And honestly, there aren't that many days anymore that I don't have at least a little bit of hemorrhoid action happening so from behind sounds................not sexy? So I'm interested in your experience.
@doxiemoxie212 closest image I could find in spoiler. It felt amazing until the bed broke, and we utilized pillows because I don't have that kind of core strength these days. I never really want sex either, but I forced myself to for him. I was pretty impressed with how much I actually enjoyed myself.
Me 30 Him 30 Married August 2015 DS born 5/23/2018 TTC #2 July 2020
@doxiemoxie212 none at all. Our bed sits pretty high so I didn't have to be too inverted for it to work. It also took all the pressure off of my back/hips which was nice.
Me 30 Him 30 Married August 2015 DS born 5/23/2018 TTC #2 July 2020
I won't even lie. I'm just over here impressed with the enthusiasm of wanting to have the sex and try the positions. my legs, hips and abdomen are so uncomfortable I don't understand how anyone can even want to have it lol. and with yah @doxiemoxie212 my little friend hemmy makes a lot of days uncomfortable so that's another thing kinda killing my mood.

It’s so rare that I want to anymore... we did it last night (like @doxiemoxie212 spoons, hips together is one of the few positions that work well anymore)... and then he wanted it again this morning? Like I can go a week without him asking but once we do it he wants it again.. anyone else’s SO like this? Also started contracting near the end so I’m thinking I should probably table the activities for a few weeks now until we’re ready to try and get things moving along. She’s got her head down recently and the increased pressure of her being down there did not feel great..
Last time we tried DTD it was so uncomfortable. It felt like my body was pushing him out saying the factory is closed. Anyone else real swollen down there? It was not pleasant even with a good quality lubricant!
@stephcat421 I'm not swollen, but ridiculously dry. We have to use copious amounts of lube or it hurts so bad. I think it's a side effect of the progesterone I'm on.
