I'm going to blame pregnancy brain but I thought the 25th was next weekend, which is when my Grandmother's surprise 80th birthday party is... and since I thought I had another week I haven't gotten her anything yet. So now my weekend is full of shopping and family parties. I have no idea what to get her too... ugh.
Too cold to go to any Easter activities with the kid cause they're all outside. So probably grocery shop. Then go through ds' spring/summer clothes from last year. Might start washing baby clothes. And dh is at work all day then going to a friend's for poker night... so I'll be snuggled on the couch with some junk food this evening.

Consignment sale this morning. My husband is putting together the ikea dresser by himself right now then taking DS to music. I’m not sure if he’ll finish the dresser before music so my plans for organizing this afternoon may be put on hold.
@jsl82 At least you realized it today and not tomorrow!! Sounds like a fun time. Love @dinodna3's suggestion of a moving photo frame. I think I might borrow that for my grandma's birthday, too!

AFM, I need to get my butt in gear. I have a walking tour on the lower east side this morning for my Junior League provisional group. Luckily, since I'm the leader, I don't actually have to do the two hour walk. It is just a big chunk of my day.
ThredUP finally got my last two bags from cleaning out my purses, so I'm hoping to move on to the next two bags of dresses and skirts to send to them. I don't know why, but I am so much more productive on closet cleanout when I have a friend just hanging out on my bed talking to me while I do it. I'm sure it is painfully boring for them, but I need it! Lol!
I just got my first “I have to ask, how much longer do you have to go yet?” About 2 months. “Oh my, you don’t look like you have 2 more months!” Gee, thanks!
We are going minivan shopping this morning. I'm so hopeful that we find something that we like. We're going to look at some Pacifica's and maybe some Odysseys too. There are a few I'm excited to go see and to test drive, just really hoping something works well for us. Our Pilot is older, starting to nag us about things, and my husband is too tall to comfortably have a car seat behind him on the driver's side which complicates things for me when there's two and I'm lugging kids in and out by myself.
I've been cleaning downstairs all morning because it never fails that I'm always the first one up (not something I mind) so I've been utilizing my free time to get some ish done. Kitchen is deep cleaned, downstairs bathroom is clean, toys are picked up, the play room + living room is put to rights, and the guest room is tidied. The only task left down here is to vacuum and I'll do that as soon as my boys are awake.
Also, I'm trying to get into podcasts more. I know we've talked about this a little before, but I'd love to hear some suggestions. I can also start a Podcast thread if anyone is interested/that would be tidier?
AFM we were supposed to finish unpacking/decorating/cleaning the house today but I hurt all over. All of my muscles are sore this morning and also I was up last night throwing up. I may not get out of bed today.

@amphibious22 i feel we all have plenty of time to get the washing done/ready. Tough for us cause we don't have anywhere to organize them cause chances are, baby's room won't be ready before he comes. And no where to put a dresser till it's done. So he'll be living out of boxes or stealing a drawer in big bro's room. But when I pulled it all out, some looked yellowed etc. Got to see how much new we need. Rest up today! Hope you're feeling better!
We got up early and journeyed into town for Costco Military hour. Totally worth it to me, almost no crowds which is unheard of for our Costco. Had breakfast at Cracker Barrel and then got some kid stuff at Walmart. Now I'm cleaning house because MIL is coming, somewhat unexpectedly, tomorrow night.
Actually checking in on a weekend. I've been out of town the past two weekends and we're all exhausted. I introduced the kids to Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory last night, and they loved it. Did some shopping today and now I'm feeling like I just want to crawl back into bed. I think I've been overdoing it with the work travel lately and my body just wants to curl up and (try to) sleep all weekend.

Oh, and I picked up DS2's first pair of glasses today. He's 3.5 and now his eyes look huge as his glasses are thick due to being farsighted. I'm not pleased with the fit on the glasses and I'm second guessing my decision to get the glasses from our local eye doctor vs. at Children's (which is just over an hour away, but they would have had a better selection).

DD requested that we have a “do absolutely nothing” day so that is precisely what we’ve done. Movies and snuggles most of the day! DH worked overtime this morning and I got a nap in this afternoon. He’s off to his annual fantasy baseball draft and I’m craving ice cream so DD and I might take a quick car ride to Culver’s down the road. Happy weekend, ladies!
This is potty training weekend!!! My girl decided she didn't want to wear her diapers anymore, soooooo, we're giving this a whirl!
@mytinc check out zenni optical. We ordered a couple pairs that we don't need to worry about getting beat up/broken/lost & it allowed in-house trying on of different styles.
On mobile so can't/ won't tag everyone but all of your weekends sound pretty great- especially the cracker barrel, ice cream, mock tails and naps.

I went to Kohls and they didn't have one... and after looking around for a while my back was screaming at me to stop shopping so I didn't go to Target or Best Biy which I suspect would have them. We are also in the no dresser so where am I putting all these baby clothes club. Luckily the closet in the room has two rods, so I am hanging a lot of his clothes- but some stuff just needs a drawer. I also got his newborn coming home outfit while shopping today. I need a 0-3 option just in case. I finished getting all of the decals off the walls of the nursery today (the last owners of our house used the room as a nursery for their little girl, but we are not a fan of the color so Star Wars theme will take over the room). Need to buy paint and have the room painted, and replace the ugly light fixture. But once that is done I can convince DH to go to ikea for a dresser and some shelves. It'll all happen by the end of April right!???
Morning ladies, it's been a long time since I've posted so I hope you're all doing well. I had a very quick glance through threads and I'm so happy to see everyone progressing along. Sorry I had to step away to focus on finishing my degree. My pre defense is April 18 and final is May 4. I'll try to be back after. This has been the hardest season of my life by far.

@LaceyBee522 my mom has "banned" me from looking at my registry. I say that lightly bc shes not controlling at all and knows ill do what I want....but, she thinks it takes all the fun out of opening the gifts because I know what's in them all. I am complying because I strangely kind of agree, but it doesn't mean I'm not dying to know. She has been watching it for me because I told her I need to know if I need to add more stuff, etc. My car seat showed up on my door step on Friday. I assume it's from an out of town family member but theres zero indication as to where it came from. Being our first gift, I cried like a baby when I saw it. When I told my mom, she told me "awww honey don't cry, your real first present was the random butt ointment applicator you registered for that someone scooped up for $3.99" We both got a good laugh.
Update on the shower: we reserved the lounge in our apt building on the online portal which didn’t say we needed to do anything else. Building just called to tell us they won’t be letting any of our guests in unless we pay the $500 you apparently need to pay to reserve the lounge. So. Today is off to a good start lol. (Our apt is not large enough to host a party...) Anyone want to start a bet on how this resolves itself?

He’s already upset about how this has been handled/not planned. @2589 so $250 is a deposit, but another $250 is just to use the room, we won’t get it back. And we have to fill out this crazy contract which I need DH to review. We own our apt in this building and pay $1000/month in “‘maintenance” (which is low for nyc and supposed to pay for upkeep of common spaces, etc) so it’s nuts that we can’t use the mother fucking lounge one time. DH is going to flip out. Today will, one way or another, be terrible now lol.

AFM I joined team minivan yesterday. I’m pretty darn excited about it too. Laying in bed next to DH, hoping he wakes up soon so we can go get groceries with it.
Update: DH agreed to pay the fee for the shower and doesn’t actually seem to be in a bad mood because he got his best times yet in his gym class (lol) so we will come away from this shower having paid more than if we didn’t let anyone throw us a shower but oh well. Hopefully folks have fun. And hopefully this is the last thing to go wrong.
@doxiemoxie212 I just popped in to say I hope your shower goes well, but obviously it's gonna take a lot for that to happen. I'm so sorry your apt. building seems to be staffed by a bunch of a-holes. I don't have good advice. There's no way my DH would pay for that either. Maybe your friends will split the cost? I mean there are 7 of them planning it. Lol. FX a solution appears and you can still find a way to enjoy the party.

It is 930 and I'm already over today. Going to send the kids out back and clean the kitchen in hopes of fixing my crappy mood. DH snapped at me this morning for no good reason and I'm definitely over his mood. He's mad because his mom and sister are coming to visit for like 5 hours and he was going to go fix his work uniform with his friend. I told him to go do it anyway, it doesn't matter to anyone if he's not here for an hour. The kids never get to see his mom (they live pretty far away) and I don't mind them coming so he can get over it.
@doxiemoxie212 sending awesome shower vibes your way. Sorry that your building was ridiculous and didn't tell you about the fee until the day of your shower..... I hope it goes well and you at least have fun with your friends!
