  • How far along are you? How big is baby?   7w. A blueberry :)

Appointments this week? NO. I wish. 3/27!

Symptoms?  All the bloat. Seriously so bloated. I look freaking 4 months pregnant already of just bloat. A little nausea today. Hopefully doesn't turn into anything too bad.

Rant/Rave/Questions?  Does anybody know if you have a repeat c-section how early it is scheduled to your due date?

GTKY:  What is your career/job? Own an all-star cheer gym. I would LOVE to be able to do that. Also, I'd love to be an academic coordinator for a Division 1 College Football program.

  • @oaklandava - I think for scheduled c-sections they try to do the 1-2 weeks before the due date to prevent mom from going into labor.

  • @oaklandava Have we talked cheer before? I used to coach Pop Warner for 7 years. I stopped last year because I got married and because they changed leagues. I am hoping to get into the High School position once that opens up!

  • @tessiesmom26 I don't think so--outside of the intro thread where we discovered it! HS was fun :) I coached HS for 3 years but coached the entire program, competition, basketball, football, and jv teams. It was super stressful in a lot of ways, but extremely rewarding. Prior to that, I was an all-star coach for 8 years. I plan to go back to that here in the next couple of months! Less stress not being in charge of the entire program, which will be good while this LO is cooking and young.

@vrj0522 Thank you! I had not planned on my emergency c section last time (obviously--hence emergency lol) but was in labor for 42 hours, with him stuck, and my BP all over the place. They had said that it would be best with my history to have a repeat cs for any future pregnancies, but I wasn't sure what the timeline was for that. Is it bad that I really don't want the baby to be born on or in immediate area of Halloween. I just don't want to ruin that for DS...he's finally at the age where he is looking forward to Halloween. Seems dumb. I'll blame it on the hormones. HAHA!

  • @oaklandava That's awesome! I tried to do All Star for one season and the gym I went to was just so disorganized. I was promised to be a coach and ended up working behind the desk as a secretary, but wasn't given access to anything (like cash to give change) so it was awful. I also never got paid, so I was out of there. I'd love to try it again someday. I don't miss the stress either!

  • @tessiesmom26 That sounds horrible. Good lord. Good thing you got out of there! There was a place here that tried to take advantage of me once by not paying me. I left promptly LOL

How far along are you? How big is baby?
7 weeks. Size of a blueberry

    Appointments this week?
Just had my confirmation on Fri 3/16. Baby's heartbeat was 151.

    Symptoms?
Woke up feeling pretty good today. Last week was filled with exhaustion, food aversion, emotions and tender breasts. Gagged a little after lunch today...maybe I ate too much. Haha.

    Rant/Rave/Questions?
Being a FTM is terrifying! I am filled to the brim with anxiety and worry. I have to stop myself from going down the rabbit hole almost weekly. So hard to feel good this early on when so much is not guaranteed. But trying to deal!

    GTKY:  What is your career/job?
I teach PreK! I have a class filled with 25 4 and 5 year olds. To say I'm tired during the week is an understatement. But I enjoy watching the little ones grow and learn. One of the most rewarding jobs.

  • How far along are you?
    How big is baby?
I’m 5 weeks and the baby is the size of an apple seed
    Appointments this week?
Getting my 3rd beta drawn tomorrow and hopefully my first ultrasound soon

    Symptoms?
My boobs are killing me and I am exhausted all of the time.

    Rant/Rave/Questions?
Today was the first day that I finally relaxed since getting my BFP and I’m exciting about being pregnant! I’m so happy!

    GTKY:  What is your career/job?
I work in healthcare and do 12 hour shifts. I used to do 16 hrs with occasional overnight shifts but I told my boss I was pregnant (he knew we had been trying for 5+ years) so he lightened my load and I am grateful!

Two Furbabies: Mika (american eskimo) and Gypsy (wire-haired terrier, dachshund mix)

How far along are you? How big is baby?
7 weeks today! The size of a blueberry

(Anyone else find the daily size updates underneath the main fruit comparison don't always add up?? Seems like sometimes they go smaller haha)
    Appointments this week?
    1st Ultrasound tomorrow! So excited

    Symptoms?
Sooo many. Painfully sore boobs, zits, zits, more zits lol - hoping the "glow" kicks in soon lol, crazy tired, wacky dreams, bloating, and constipated. Small wins - nausea has been pretty minimal so far

    Rant/Rave/Questions?
@melicee14 - right there with you! This is my first time too and I fluctuate between being so scared I will lose the little blueberry or that something will be wrong and being excited/bursting at the seams to tell everyone.

I feel like I have questions everyday. One thing I forgot to ask my doc at my initial confirmation appt was how much weight I should gain in the first trimester. I'll clarify when we review my ultrasound results.

    GTKY:  What is your career/job?
I work as a psychologist in an outpatient psychiatry clinic. It's truly my dream job :)
  • @rmg85 I have a BA in psychology. I loveeeee psychology!

@oaklandava - Glad to know there's another psyc nerd on board hehe

Also question - see lots of people talking about betas but I am totally clueless about what those are. Can someone help me out?
  • @rmg85 A beta is an hcg test to see the level of the pregnancy hormone in your body. Not everyone gets them early, usually it's those who have gone through IF treatments and/or those with a history of loss (or perhaps some other known medical issues). So don't be concerned if your doctor hasn't mentioned it to you yet.

  • How far along are you? How big is baby?
I’m 5 weeks and baby is the size of an apple seed.

    Appointments this week?
    Nope, not until 4/11.

    Symptoms?
My boobs are so sore and I'm so exhausted. No morning sickness but I do get cramps often (fingers crossed this is normal).

    Rant/Rave/Questions?
I'm extremely excited but as a FTM I'm cautiously holding the excitement in and just trying to get through each week until my first appointment.

    GTKY:  What is your career/job?
I work at a hospital as a Speech Pathologist. I work with patients after big events such as a stroke, brain surgery, car accident etc and make sure they are safe to start eating and drinking. I do 10 hour shifts and am really looking forward to my next day off to reat ha.

So excited to hear more about everyone!! Happy we have each other to lean on.
  • @jkmartin723 That's awesome that you're able to help people through those things! Very cool!

    @rmg85 guilty as charged lol!

  • @linz36 Congrats on the betas that's exciting.

@oaklandava Thanks, I love what I do but am quickly realizing how exhausting this is going to be during pregnancy.. Super excited either way!!

Also, anyone else super hungry? I don't normally finish a whole meal when we eat out and last night my hubs pointed out I finished my entire plate and was starting to pick at his-- he was laughing and making jokes. I realized at that moment, I'm so hungry all the time.... Hoping this subsides and I go back to my normal eating habits ha.
  • @jkmartin723
yeahhhhh hungry and for random things. I don't eat a lot in one sitting--but I eat constantly. And I am overweight to start with :(
