  • How far along are you? How big is baby?
I’m 5w1d and my baby is the size of an apple seed.

How are you feeling? Mentally/physically? Any new symptoms?
Feeling really well. I’m just exhausted with sore boobs! I’m realky starting to get excited!!!

    Rants? Raves? Questions
Question - when is it acceptable to use the expectant mothers parking spot at stores. I’m not showing and I don’t know when I’ll show, but I’m so tired lol. I went to the store today and paused at the parking spot but ended up parking further away. I assume I’ll need to have a huge belly for people not to give me mad sideeye when I get out of the car.

GTKY: If you could have any animal as a pet, what animal would you choose?
    Dragon...hands down.

Two Furbabies: Mika (american eskimo) and Gypsy (wire-haired terrier, dachshund mix)

I'm 5 weeks 2 days and my baby is the size of apple seed!

How are you feeling? Mentally/physically? Any new symptoms?
I'm so tired!  Usually I can stay up until like 1 am but I'm struggling to make it to 10 pm and that is even if I take a nap midway through the day!  Not really any other symptoms other than having to pee every 5 seconds and sore boobs.

    Rants? Raves? Questions
@linz36 I have been wondering the same thing!  I was at the store yesterday and the same thought ran through my mind.  The parking lot wasn't very full so I parked next to the expectant mothers spot instead.

GTKY: If you could have any animal as a pet, what animal would you choose?
It's boring but I really want a corgi, they are so adorable!

5w3d, and baby is the size of a peppercorn!

How are you feeling? Mentally/physically? Any new symptoms?
I have to pee a lot, and I'm pretty emotionally overwhelmed, but otherwise nothing major.

    Rants? Raves? Questions
Rave: Props to Amazon for creating the "private" baby registry option.  I feel super greedy and silly admitting to creating a registry this early, but it's giving me something to do while I get through the first trimester.

GTKY: If you could have any animal as a pet, what animal would you choose?
A kitten.  I have 2 cats, and they are our lives.  But man, those first 6 months of kitten-hood were precious.

  • How far along are you? How big is baby?
I'm 4 weeks-ish (waiting on some dating) and baby is the size of a poppy seed.

How are you feeling? Mentally/physically? Any new symptoms
I'm exhausted! I'm in bed by 9pm most nights but hitting the wall at work by 3pm. Also getting hit with morning sickness, bursting into tears at the slightest thing and some light cramping. Doctor's fine with the cramping so I am too.

    Rants? Raves? Questions
@linz36 and @marfi236 same question here. I might wait until I'm showing though. Rave: found the most amazing baby book by accident that lets me record pregnancy things so even though Sprout is still so tiny, I'm starting to feel like this is real.

GTKY: If you could have any animal as a pet, what animal would you choose?
Red panda hands down. I don't think my cat would like it much though.

How far along are you? How big is baby?

  • @linz36 and @lurvleybunchococonuts It's called Baby Record book by Alicia Padron. It comes in blue, pink and yellow and it has the most adorable questions to answer like what sort of music Daddy liked the year baby was born and how did it feel to find out the baby was coming. It also has room for things like 'when did Mom start showing' and ultrasound pictures. Then after birth it includes things like what was baby's routine, how did mom feel leaving the hospital with baby as well as the usual things. We really liked that there was heaps of room to stick our own pictures in (although it is illustrated) and make our own notes but it wasn't so involved as some that had room for week by week updates. DH and I found it a couple of years ago when we were being wistful about starting a family and I noted the ISBN. It's now almost out of print but we found places still selling it in Australia and New Zealand.

I'm 5w2d and baby is the size of an appleseed.

How are you feeling? Mentally/physically? Any new symptoms?
I'm tired with sore boobs and some cramping (Hoping this is normal but comes and goes a few times a day). DH also pointed out tonight that I'm finishing all my meals (which I typically don't do), that made me realize, I've been super hungry lately.

    Rants? Raves? Questions
So many questions not sure where to start. I'm so anxious and excited but also very nervous until my first ultrasound. Rant: Attended one of my best friends bachloette parties this weekend and shared the news re: BFP. Part of me was REALLY hoping to not tell anyone til after first ultrasound. Oh well.

GTKY: If you could have any animal as a pet, what animal would you choose?
I love corgis as well!!! But I think I'd go with a tiger.
  • How far along are you? How big is baby? 4w3d tomorrow - baby is the size of a Braille dot.

How are you feeling? Mentally/physically? Any new symptoms? Because of my RPL history, I’m still anxious but feeling much better after the results of my beta yesterday (numbers more than quadrupled). Physically, I have some soreness in my breasts, I’m exhausted and hungry and I pee a lot.

Rants? Raves? Questions? I have an US tomorrow, but since it’s it so early I can’t imagine we’ll see anything. So then I’ll just be (irrationally) anxious that we didn’t see anything until my next US. Blah. I’m crazy, I know. Please just ignore me.

GTKY: If you could have any animal as a pet, what animal would you choose? Otters!

@jkmartin723  I was hoping to wait to announce to anyone (except DH & my parents) until after 1st tri, but my co-workers are bizarrely observant and noticed my reduced caffeine intake so I had to fess up. Oh well is right!

@lurvleybunchococonuts I second your “all the animals.” I’m constantly trying to bring random strays home. Last week I rescued a prairie dog (I call them my Alvins) and the wildlife rescue people identified me by voice on the phone. I can’t tell if they love me or find me exasperating.

    @mrsduddles That book sounds cool!
  • I'm 7w1d today. Baby is a blueberry. Or an M&M apparently. Which I think are generally smaller than bluberries. Unless they mean a wild blueberry.. confusing.

    Symptoms:
Oh the nausea. So much nausea. Woke up from my post night shift nap Tuesday afternoon, and I was literally  shaking, I was so nauseated. I know it's a good sign, so with all the problems I've been having, I'm grateful. (Way worse the last 2 days. Tuesday evening being the worst so far).
Also food aversions, and totally exhausted. And still with the vivid dreams. The cramps have eased off. And no spotting today.
Mentally, still super anxious. I want to hear that heart beat....I'm so scared I've lost it.

I was gonna say I don't have any rants right now, but I changed my mind. What the heck is with everyone stabbing each other tonight?! It's a Tuesday night! Go to sleep and stop trying to kill each other!!!!!! *End rant*

I really like @linz36 idea of a dragon. It would be so useful! Though quite expensive to feed. I wouldn't give up my dog for the world! But dog and dragon will obviously be best friends. So it's all good!

I know this is late- are we supposed to post on the Monday?

how far along are you?: today I am 5 weeks 4 days and the baby is the size of an apple seed!

how are you feeling?: oh wow, SO TIRED! I’m working 10-12 hour days these days and I’m ordinarily pretty wiped, but I fell asleep at the diner table last night- it’s a totally different kind of tired! And my boobs are killing me, hah- debating whether or not sleeping in a bra would help? Feeing very happy and excited emotionally!

Rants, raves, questions?: I am starting to worry a lot about telling work about my pregnancy- I’m in Canada, so I’m pretty lucky that we have decent matenity leave policies, but I’ve always been a career gal who wanted to be established before having kids, but I guess it turns out that there is no perfect time!

Pets: @cassafrass15 @lurvleybunchococonuts definitely all the animals! At least all the dogs- between my brothers, myself and DH, and my parents there are 8 dogs, so family gatherings are a wonderful mess of happy pups!

Lovely to to meet you all! Sorry if my etiquette is not perfect, it’s my first time on the message boards and there is a lot to digest!

Looking forward to getting to know everyone!

  • Hi @linz36 , so glad to be joining you over here on the November 2018 board (I'm formerly FutureMrsMerati, finally figured out how to change my name!)

How far along are you? How big is baby? I'm 4w2d, baby is the size of a poppy seed

How are you feeling? Mentally/physically? Any new symptomsBeyond excited, but still anxious since we had a CP in January. First round of bloodwork was strong, so we're (cautiously) optimistic!

Rants? Raves? Questions? @babybearmum same! I'm in the NYC area but a career girl with a decent maternity leave policy at least compared to peers in the states (14 weeks full pay, can take up to 16 weeks with FMLA). Another question: When do you start looking at daycares? I know it can be very competitive so I don't want to wait too long, but don't want them to think I'm a crazy lady either!

GTKY: If you could have any animal as a pet, what animal would you chooseWe can't have pets (husband has allergies :( ) but if I could, I would have a King Charles terrier, or a big fluffy kitten. They're soo cute!
  • How far along are you? How big is baby? 7w5d Baby is the size of a blueberry!

How are you feeling? Mentally/physically? Any new symptoms? Feeling okay. So much better after my first appt yesterday in regards to worrying. I put it in the symptoms thread but back pain has started for me and it is getting harder to be comfortable in my work chair for 8 hours. Need to figure out how to keep moving throughout the day.

Rants? Raves? Questions? Rave: So glad my appt went well yesterday, it gave me so much relief. I also shared the news with some close family and it was awesome to see them all be just as happy as we are.

GTKY: If you could have any animal as a pet, what animal would you choose? I think I would go with a baby big cat, like a tiger. They are always so cute and cuddly in videos, you know until they are fully grown and could eat you.

    @mrsduddles That book sounds awesome!
@jkmartin723 I feel like I will be telling work much sooner than planned because of my back pain and just because I can't keep a secret apparently.

  • @babybearmum I'm with you about being nervous about telling work.  My supervisor is trying to transfer to a different department and I really want his job so I'm holding off announcing as long as possible because I'm worried they will skip over me if they know about it (I know it's illegal for them to do it but it's still in the corner of my mind).

  • @babybearmum I’m a third time career mom lurking over here, but get on those wait lists as early as possible if you live in a larger city. I live in DFW and I put both of my kids in a waitlist basically as soon as I turned a stick positive. I was super nervous doing it, but the good spots go fast. The more info you have about specific places early on is super helpful. We ended up going the nanny route until about 11 months with both of mine, but were able to get in when we wanted because of all the early leg work we did.
