How far along are you? How big is baby? 4 weeks today
Appointments this week? First appointment with the NP is 4/4. They'll scheduled my u/s for when I'm 8-10 weeks.
Symptoms? Constipation started yesterday. My boobs hurt just the tiniest bit on and off. I'm also weaning my toddler so there's a chance it's from that. Breastfeeding has destroyed the sensitivity in my boobs.
Rant/Rave/Questions? Rant: I was hoping to get in for my u/s before I go to NYC in April, but it's looking like that won't happen. I'll be seeing my sisters and parents then and I want to tell them, but probably not before the first u/s. Rave: My parents are coming to visit this weekend! I'm excited to see them and DD is obsessed with them. It will be really fun to have them here.
GTKY: (Stolen from Monday) What is your career/job? I work in fundraising for a university.
How far along are you? How big is baby? Well, I'm guessing I'm 6 weeks. I haven't had a dating ultrasound yet, but based off of what I think was my LMP my due date will be 11.13 No dating ultrasound until 3.29
Appointments this week? I go for a 2nd blood draw today to check HCG. It was originally on Thursday, but I called to move it up.
Symptoms? Nausea on and off all day, nipples are killing me, and I'm so tired!!
Rant/Rave/Questions?
With my first, we had a gender determination at 18 weeks. I've been seeing that you can get a blood test done starting at 9 weeks now. Anyone else as impatient as I am and think that sounds amazing?!
GTKY: (Stolen from Monday) What is your career/job? I teach math in middle school. Some day I want to kill the kids and pull out my hair, but I truly do love my job! However, it does make me scared about having a girl... these girls are 12 going on 30!
@middleschoolmommy We did the NIPT with my first and found out the sex. I did it more for the genetic test results, but finding out that she was a girl that early was fantastic! Some tests say 9 weeks, but my doctor wouldn't order it until 11 weeks just to be sure we got good results. We'll definitely be doing it again this time. Make sure you're completely clear on pricing before you do it though or you could end up with a bill for over $1,000.
@brookepdavis there is an elective ultrasound place here that offers the blood test for $179 or so. I've talked about doing the NIPT with my husband. He's all for it, but I'm not sure I want to. Cost will definitely be the determining factor.
How far along are you? How big is baby? By my calculations, I'm due 11/03, but the OB says 11/6. I'm gonna hang here at least until my first US. The date might change again then. Who knows! I'm 7 weeks and the baby is the size of a "wee raspberry."
Appointments this week? Not until next Friday, 03/30.
Symptoms? A little bit of soreness in my boobs, mostly just the nips, really. And, oh, the digestive issues! I had forgotten all about thinking I had colon cancer or something before I got my BFP last time around. I'll spare you all the details, but just know, it ain't pretty down there!
Rant/Rave/Questions? Rant: coming off of Zoloft has been easy peasy.... until now. I've been off of it completely for 4 days now and my head is still spinning 24/7. Other than that, I'm fine, but I'm tired of feeling like I'm on a boat all day! Rave: I thought I'd be so tired in the first tri with a toddler in tow that I'd want to die, but it actually hasn't been that bad so far. I have about the same amount of energy as usual. That's been a nice surprise.
GTKY: (Stolen from Monday) What is your career/job? My title is technically "office administrator," but in a small family business, you tend to wear many different hats. I work for my dad. We have a total of 4 employees in our office- my dad, me, and two installers. We're an A/V Contractor, which means that we install pro audio, video, and lighting systems in churches, auditoriums, and schools. My dad started the company 40 years ago and I've been working here for 10 years. I do all of the accounting and book work, but I also do sales, purchasing, shipping/receiving, and a myriad of other things.
@brookepdavis I think you should consider telling your family when you go to NYC. I didn't want to tell my parents before the viability scan, but then I realized if the pregnancy is not viable, I will tell them that anyway, so might as well tell them now.
@middleschoolmommy We did genetic testing around 15 weeks with DD in 2016. I talked to my OB about doing it asap at my first appointment and she said the longer you wait, the more accurate it will be, so she suggested waiting until at least 10/12 weeks.
@CopperBoom86 I'm considering telling them, but I'm trying to figure out how and when. We'll all be there for my sister's bridal shower so I want to be sure I'm not stealing her thunder. Also, my sisters know about my previous losses, but my parents don't. I have a great relationship with them, but my mom always says the wrong thing in stressful emotional situations so I never told them when it happened. After that when I was ready to talk about it, it just seemed like bad news to tell them when it wasn't relevant. So I don't know. I have a few weeks to decide.
@brookepdavis Oh I completely understand about your mom. My mom is similar. She’s a great mom and we’re very close, but she always makes things about her somehow. It makes it difficult to tell her things.
*TW*
She had 3 early second tri losses then they adopted me, so I know if something does happen with this baby it’ll be “well, when I had my losses...” I love her, but it’s super frustrating.
Maybe just play it by ear. If you have a good opportunity to tell them, go for it. If not, then wait.
Hi!!! I'm late, been a very difficult week symptoms wise. Just Blech. Will delve into details further down.
How far along are you? How big is baby? 7 weeks and according to TB, we have a blueberry!
Appointments this week? Next week will be my first.
Symptoms? The nausea. OMG. It hit me so hard Sunday night, I could barely stand. And lasted through last night. I was dry heaving a whole bunch. I never throw up or dry heave, so it was bad. I think I threw up 3 times total my last pregnancy despite the horrendous nausea. Also got the fatigue, crazy dreams (I apparently really wanted a Starbucks yesterday because that was the bulk of my dreams), and RLP when sneezing pretty bad. I am counting down to week 14.
Rant/Rave/Questions? I've been craving carbs like crazy due to the nausea. I'm on a gluten free diet because it makes me super fatigued, unable to think straight, and feel like I'm going to pass out, but the GF stuff made me feel sicker. I gave in today and had a Philly cheesesteak on a real, gluten full hoagie. It's been almost a year since I've had anything gluten. I really hope it doesn't mess with me too bad, but it did help settle my stomach.
GTKY: (Stolen from Monday) What is your career/job? I work at the county courthouse with judges and their assistants, trial clerks, and the public. I don't really want to go into too much detail. Especially since I will be moving into my new and wonderful role of a SAHM by May. I can't wait. My job has been a blessing, but it's really just keeping me away from my family 12 hours a day now and I just can't keep doing this.

How far along are you? How big is baby? 4 weeks + change- I'm due 11/27. Baby is a speck.
Appts this week? Nope sadly I'm still 3 weeks out! Symptoms? I'm really hungry allllll the time. Other than that just sensitive boobs and crazy dreams.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Any other running mamas on here? I've been running regularly for 9 months and am wondering if I need to take my pace and/or distance down? So far o feel ok, just more easily tired.Raves I'm ecstatic to be pregnant. This baby took longer than all my other kids to conceive and I'm so grateful to be done ttc. Anyone have a prenatal they love?
GTKY:what is your career/job? I'm a SAHM to my 3 kiddos. My oldest is in kinder this year so it's been nice to go down to 2 kids during the day. In my pre kid life, I got my bachelor's in psychology and worked in banking. After this baby, I'd like to get certified to teach bodypump.
@cm716 I was an avid runner before getting injured right before I conceived DD. The injury caused me to stop running for most of my pregnancy, but otherwise I would have continued. I just started running again a few months ago and I plan to continue my "jogging" for the rest of this pregnancy. What my doctor told me was to listen to my body. I might get tired more easily or not feel great on certain days. It's not the time to train for your longest race or try to make drastic improvements on your pace, but continuing what you've been doing up to now should be totally fine.
Finally got results from the OBs office. 1st hcg was 220, one week later it's 3,982. So.. I'm "on track" according to the nurse. Dating ultrasound is 3/29... so far away!
Re: Tuesday Ticker Change (3/20)
