  • I'm super annoyed at the nurse that called me back from my pediatrician's office. I called them to ask for advice re my potty training and lack of poop situation. We started potty training last Monday and the only day we've had poops was Friday because I gave him a liquid glycerin suppository. One day of pooping in a week for a child that pooped 1-2x a day in diapers? I was worried that after he holds it for 3-4 days then he's too constipated to get it out. She kind of laughed and blew me off and said he'll be fine. "He's not constipated he's just holding it in." Well yes that's how it starts but this obviously leads to constipation and then he cries and says his tummy and butt hurt. It seems like that is when it becomes a problem in my eyes. I tried to give him the suppository again, but he wouldn't let me so I gave him some apple juice with miralax hoping that will do something. I've even offered to let him poop in a diaper, but he won't do it. If this keeps up I'm going to call and make an appointment with his actual pediatrican and see what he says.

  • DH annoyed the heck out of me all weekend! During my first pregnancy, I lived alone. It was amazing. I only saw DH on weekends! He is freaking out a little bit since he will be along for the whole pregnancy this time. He kept saying how "it's to early" for me to "pull the pregnancy card", when I've been nauseous and told him I'd do whatever chore it was later. He kept telling me that he will get too burned out if I stop helping out around the house now.... I really wanted to punch him in the face.

He's going to get burned out helping you with the things you do every day because you're pregnant with his child? Yeah, just no.

  • @middleschoolmommy UGH! I hear you girl... over the weekend MH made me breakfast and the scrambled eggs he made were really oily and soft, like mush level soft.  It made me nauseous so I didn't finish eating... he informed me that it's all in my head because "now that I'm pregnant I'm being too over cautious and need to chill out cause it's too early for anything to bother me".  Just like the rubbery, mushy chicken he made me the week before, totally in my head and just need to get over it, not the fact that eating it made me want to yak.

  • The phrase "in your head" is automatically worth one concussion. W. T. F.
  • @lifesabeach85 we aren't telling family for awhile for that exact reason.  We told our parents at 5 weeks last time and my MIL texted me every day with now Google search results (like I wasn't capable of googling) for morning sickness and constantly wanting to talk about how she never had morning sickness but she had heard about x,y and z.  And then the "when are you telling *insert family member we almost never talk to*".

@pink_polkadots we have an epic Mt Clothesmore here too, I legit loled at that description.

@middleschoolmommy yeah, pregnancy card gets to be pulled at any time you are pregnant.  He's fighting a losing battle.

@mockingjay1 your pediatrician is pissing me off.

@lurvleybunchococonuts nope.  Just nope nope nope to him.

It's supposed to snow here tomorrow night.  Like, 5+ inches of wet snow.  It is March dammit, it's time to be getting warm and spring-y, not colder and freaking snowing.
  • So over sickness. My two girls and I have been sick on and off the past three weeks!  My husband has also had his fair share.  I want my eldest to be able to go to school and to get back into routine. Of course spring break is next week so who knows maybe she’ll just get two weeks off. Currently fighting a croupy sounding cough....
  • @josie12367 I'm soooo guilty of that.  I usually set mine for 5 and try to get up at 5:45 though.  I don't set it two hours in advance lol

  • @mempartyof3 I hear you!!  I don't think I've worked a full week of work since the beginning of December between my daughters being sick, me being sick, and various appointments.  I thought this would be the first full week of work but I have to go do an intake with a speech therapist tomorrow for my younger daughter.

  • @pink_polkadots Thank you so much for that laugh today. I needed it :)
@middleschoolmommy HA. Because you do those things all the time, I assume with minimal help, and now that the has to help all of a sudden he's a saint? GTFOH lmao MEN!
@josie12367 YES! My DH does that too. We get up at the same time, but he sets this alarm ridiculously before it needs to be set. And like you, I lay there the next hour wanting to kill him while he snores.

I know it's not Monday, but my Monday BF happened and I had to go to bed before my anxiety completely debilitated me. We are selling our house and buying a new one. We cannot buy the new one until we close on the one we have. We had it set up for close on this one 4/16 and close on the new one 4/17. It was all good to go. Then something happened with the buyers and they backed out. Now here we are, less than 30 days from that closing date, and we have no buyer for our house which means it's a good chance we will lose the other house. The lady already started moving so she's not really wanting to push closing back. So needless to say, I'm completely losing it because that house was perfect. My literal dream house. Perfect for two kids to grow up in. Immaculate neighborhood. There is NOTHING that compares as a backup house in that area. To top it off, I can't take my anxiety meds for breakthrough because pregnant, and I had to cut my anxiety meds back to half of what they were because pregnant and I am barely functioning as it is. I just need to get to my appointment on 3/27 so I can figure out my life.

AND Babies R Us is closing. What the actual F. Right when we get pregnant and need that place, it closes. There are no Buy Buy Baby's near us or anything like that, so that's the only place you can go see items in person. Seriously?!

    End Rant. Thanks guys.

  • @oaklandava oh that is so tough and disheartening. I hope, somehow, it ends up working in your favor. And I am so upset about the babies r us closing too! Target and Walmart just don’t cut it with the inventory like babies r us does. So frustrating!  :(:(:(

  • @kecoff01 good luck at appointment. My daughter is on IEP for preschool and gets speech weekly through that and does private therapy in addition.  It’s been a great resource for us. She doesn’t “say words” but communicates in other ways which helps her be understood and overall better quality of life.
  • @oaklandava I hope everything works out with the house. I am SO sorry that happened. Did you have anyone else who was considering making an offer on yours? Maybe your realtor can reach out to their realtor if so. I think there may also be a mortgage product called a "bridge loan." It basically lets you borrow against your current home that is on the market to make the down payment on your home. Once your house sells, you pay off that loan and would have just your new mortgage. I imagine it is a pricey product, but in a pinch it may be something to consider.

  • @oaklandava Ugh, that sucks about the buyers. I feel like buying and selling at the same time would be so stressful! I hope something works out in your favor so you don't lose the dream house!

  • @wannaflickone THANKS! It's horrible. The mortgage bridge loan won't work because we have other rental properties. The bank won't ok it as an option because of those. Thanks for the suggestion--I definitely would have done it!
@tessiesmom26 Thank you :) Yes, it is super stressful and was not part of what I planned. I just need my anxiety meds back up lol

  • @oaklandava That is a nightmare - I'm so so sorry. Did the buyer's agent give any indication of what spooked them or if there is something you can do to get them back on board?

  • @lifesabeach85 They didn't--it was something bank related I think :(

  • @oaklandava ugh, I'm sorry! One more suggestion (but I'm guessing you've already thought of it). Any way you could borrow against your rental equity with a HELOC and pay it back as soon as your home sells? Hope I'm not adding any more stress, just trying to come up with scenarios to help since it is your dream home. We currently have a rental, the home we live in and the home we are doing a complete remodel and addition on. We were presented all different types of financing scenarios to find what worked best for us, so just running through some of what we saw.

I have to bitch somewhere. I've been sitting in this OB's office since 350. Appointment for A BLOOD DRAW was at 4. It's 440. I'm just here for a blood draw. Wtf. I'm tired and I want to go home.

*edit* I got called back at 505...they forgot to let the lab tech know I was waiting. I don't know if I'll be sticking with this doctors office...

  • @wannaflickone  Thank you! That could definitely be an option! Right now, I'm having my agent beg the seller to push back closing to May 1 to give us more time to sell this one. Prayers that it is going to happen!

  • @oaklandava So sorry that you have that stress on top, hope another buyer can be found for you guys!

@middleschoolmommy  I hate that!  Plus teacher exhaustion is REAL. I don’t know how I’m going to survive the upcoming school year!

Called the hospital I had DS at and come to find out they only offer prenatal exams in the morning, WTF. How is a teacher supposed to arrange that (and we have a tooon of appointments here)?!  That means I’m gonna have to go to the local clinic that called me fat the whole time  :|
  • literally me. I did IVF and went for my first beta on monday. Instead of sending it with a number they just sent it with a positive result. Finally today my RE was able to get ahold of someone to re-run the test but I still won't know the number until tomorrow morning  :|

ALSO I've been waiting on more progesterone in oil for my injections. Walgreens literally never called even though it was supposed to be in today. When I got off work I called to check and they said it wouldn't be in until APRIL 2! I went off on the lady, I feel a little bad for her lol. I was like, and when were you planning on telling me this? Because I need it literally tonight and now its 5:30 and no one else is going to have it. Man I was so mad lol.

@oaklandava Oh man, that sounds so incredibly stressful. I'm so sorry. :( I'll be praying hard that you can find another buyer soon!
@josie12367 I never wake up to my alarm. :( Don't hate me! I wish I could wake up to it, but it's so hard and MH is so warm in bed that I never want to get out. MH is usually a pretty light sleeper but he learned to sleep through my alarm. Oops!

  • I'll chime in on the DH rants...

I hate hate hate when people set their alarms for a ridiculously early time and then don't get up when it goes off. My DH wakes up at 0400 every morning but doesn't leave till 0645 for work. If you really just want to get up at 0500 then set your alarm for that! I've had such a hard time sleeping and once his alarm goes off I'm up and can't go back to sleep. Then I just sit there in bed seething mad while he goes back to sleep for an hour... snoring peacefully.
@josie12367 OMG my DH does the SAME THING and it makes me FURIOUS. You never get up when it goes off, and your snooze going off every seven minutes for the next hour (at least) means I get no sleep!!
