Why my pregnant self is crying... 3.16

Hormones must be raging this morning! I saw a news story about the bridge collapse in Florida. They were interviewing the mother of a young man who was involved  (he's fine) and they asked her what it was like to receive the phone call that a bridge collapsed on him. She started crying and I started bawling!

I decided to check back on my old BMB (July '14 - we actually had a catfish that was found out towards the end. Major drama.) and I saw the post about DS going back to the hospital, again, after spending 54 days in the NICU. Cue the bawling again! Thinking about spending the day watching lifetime movies or something to get the crying out of my system!

I called to schedule an appointment with a midwife today and I was so excited because I haven't been able to see a midwife during my previous pregnancies because they weren't permitted to practice in my state.  So I called my husband to tell him that I had a first appointment scheduled and I knew he was working, I knew that he was probably busy, but the fact that it came across in his voice and that he sounded unexcited and bothered really sent me over the edge.  Usually it doesn't bother me when I know he's busy and he comes across short (I have the same problem sometimes) but I cried the rest of my drive to work.

@kecoff01 I've had similar experiences! DH is really reserved and has told me he is hesitant to get excited/happy yet. It's still really annoying when I try to share something about this pregnancy or something we need to think/about do in the future and he has little reaction to it. :(

I watched the finale of This is Us last night and pretty much melted into a pile of tears. I cry at every episode, but last night I just let the tears flow freely.

I also cried last night because I had to go out and buy milk, and had to go to two stores because the first didn't have any. I'm just a mess all around.

@babybrain2018 It was really really creepy. She was a VERY active member and everyone LOVED her! She claimed to be a wedding planner in PA, with 3 kids (4th on the way) together with her Wife. Turns out, she was using screen captures from a Swedish woman's pregnancy vlog for her bump pics! She even took the time to paint a picture to "decorate her nursery" with her "son's" name on it. It was finally revealed by another bumpie who had become good friends (or so she thought) with her. She turned about to be a single, unemployed, woman. A lot of us stopped participating so much after that!

@tessiesmom26 I had to give up watching This Is Us. While I love the heartfelt beauty of it all, I cannot let it take over my emotions the way it does. I think it is a beautiful show, but decided it was too much for me. I thought Parenthood was a tear jerker, but This Is Us takes it to another level!

@middleschoolmommy That is just so sad. You wonder what makes a person do that kind of thing! The thought crossed my mind the other day that there is no sure way to know that everyone is legit on here. But it's still a great place for support getting through these 9 months together! I'm sorry to hear it disturbed the other members in that group and things sort of fell apart. It only takes one person to ruin morale!

As for me, my son has been sick recently. I suspect roseola because after the fever broke there was a bumpy rash all over, though we avoided the Dr because his symptoms were manageable and there's really not much they can do for that and a rash is a sign that it's ending. I was just emotional this whole past week dealing with him. It hurts me to see him not feel well. Thank goodness today he seems to have bounced back, but he had an allergic reaction to his diaper this morning and I started panicking all over again. He's my first, and he's never had much more than a cold before, so I still freak out at the smallest things!!

Other than crying about the discomfort of my son, any and every TV commercial has been making me tear up. Doesn't even have to be about an emotional topic. But if it involves someone looking happy in slow motion with a cup of coffee and/or with an animal by their side (think pill/treatment commercials) I am an extra hot mess.

@FreeTheElf My younger daughter had an unexplained high fever (102-104) for five days in December and her doctor thought it might be roseola but she never got a rash.  She had absolutely no other symptoms.  She had the same thing happen earlier this month and when we went for her 18 month well check our pediatrician said she could have a periodic fever syndrome, but they won't send us to a specialist until we track/trend them for at least 6-12 months.  So frustrating and scary!  We took her to the ER both times to rule out UTI (because they both inconveniently got really high on Saturday nights).  I hope your son starts feeling better really soon!  It's so hard when they're miserable and you've done all you can for them.

@freetheelf It is so hard to know, but in the end I just try to give the benefit of the doubt. I am so close with my facebook group of Aug '16 moms. I truly hope that is what this turns into, but I have to admit I was a little hesitant to join again. I feel like I lucked out with that group! Hoping this group will be just as supportive and will have a great connection after the 9 months.

ETA: We were on the bump until after babies were born and then moved to FB. We felt it help us weed out the crazies.

@wannaflickone That's a great idea. I have some eucalyptus oil that I usually put in the shower when I have a cold to help clear out my stuffiness. I have some Vick's vaporub too and the Internet says it's safe to use during pregnancy. I admit I've been super lazy and grouchy so I've just been lying around sleeping all day. Off to take a long steam shower. Thanks for the reminder to get off my lazy butt and take care of myself!

@kecoff01 That is so strange and difficult to figure out! I can't imagine the frustration there. Fortunately my son did get diagnosed as having Roseola on Friday...we went in because he had a sudden allergic reaction with hives and everything, and he still had his roseola spots so they confirmed it. Not sure what he had an allergic reaction to, though! It's so hard trying to figure things out when even the Doctors don't have answers! My son is doing loads better today. I hope the mystery around your daughter's fevers reveals itself, or disappears completely! So strange.

I teared up putting DS to bed on Saturday night. I worked Friday night and DH took off the front rail of the crib and converted it to a toddler bed (about time, DS turned 3 in November  :#). I realized I unknowingly put him in his crib for the last time on Thursday night. The "lasts" just kill me when I'm not pregnant let alone now.

I am currently sobbing at my desk because a parent from our school district just dropped off three trays of homemade baked goods! One is for my office to keep, and the other two are for the DPW. (There is a big snow storm coming tonight so I am sure they are going to really appreciate it!) It's part of National Down Syndrome day and spreading random acts of kindness. Not only was this act SO KIND, the chocolate chip cookie and cinnamon muffin I just devoured were both so good!
