November 2018 Moms

TTGP Grad Check-in w/o 3/15

Edited for clarification: Please note: This check-in is for those Nov moms who have participated recently on the TTGP board, i.e. leading up to this pregnancy.  If you did not participate on TTGP, members may ask you who you are and/or wonder if you're lost.  Please don't take offense.  There will literally be a million check-ins once the board gets going - no one is expected to participate in them all. ❤

Hey there TTGPers! How are things going? Let's do a casual check in, but if questions/structure help you, then here are the usual to use as guidelines:

How far along are you?

How are you feeling?

Any recent/upcoming appointments?

How are you feeling? So queasy all the time... and starving all the time, but overall good. So relieved to have the first ultrasound over with and to see that little heart pumping away.

    Any recent/upcoming appointments?

Next appointment is going to be the 28th. It's a group briefing to go over clinic practices, how their ward operates, genetic testing, etc. Then I have a one on one with a provider to go over blood work that was drawn today.

So we told our parents tonight and our siblings. We had our seven year old break the news to them. When we told her (Our DD), she freaked out and started sobbing. She was NOT happy! She's coming around to the idea but doesn't like the idea of change. She reacted similarly last time, and adores her little sister now... so... it was an interesting day, but a happy one overall.

  • @lurvleybunchococonuts Good luck tomorrow at your appointment! The fatigue is hard to deal with at times for me too. Especially since I ditched caffeine  :s I do remember getting some energy back in the second trimester though last time.

@KristoKekerooni I felt like time just slowed to a crawl waiting for my appointment today...Do you have something fun planned over the weekend to distract yourself a little?

  • @josie12367 awww I hope YD gets excited soon lol... Not the reaction one wants to such good news.

@KristoKekerooni I can't wait to hear how your baby bee is doing!!! :) Ya know, I have NO CLUE what exactly is going on tomorrow. My dumbass didn't think to ask for specifics when the nurse called to schedule it. She just asked how the spotting was or if I had any pain, and that they got my lab results, and the doc wants to see me tomorrow so they're squeezing me in at 11. Honestly... I really hope they do an u/s although there wouldn't be much to see yet so maybe it'd be good if they don't do one... Lol. I'm just praying everything is good <3

  • @marfi236 This thread is for those of us who were active on TTGP (Trying to get Pregnant) on the Bump. We're not trying to be rude or exclusive, but since some of us have spent the last several months/years getting to know each other, it's nice for us to have another place to come to to continue our friendships. I see that you were active on the IF board though, so if you wanted to start the Pregnant after IF thread, I think that would be great! Seems like lots of ladies here went through IF, so it would probably be a really helpful thread to get started.

  • @josie12367 , not really. I am painting an old chair I have to get it ready to sell. so that's at least something! I can't decide if I want to do it a neutral gray or a fun pink! I think gray might make it easier to get rid of... We also are just doing a lot of cleaning. Hopefully time flies by. How was your appointment?

@lurvleybunchococonuts , Ahh. I really hope you get an US, at least to maybe see a sac? I sorta feel the same. My US is on Monday, at only 5+3. Too early to see a heartbeat, so I am almost wanting to cancel and wait. I won't but. Ugh. It'll be hard to see something and not know for sure it's okay.
I have all my fingers and toes crossed that everything still looks good for you! Update us when you can!

  • @marfi236 No worries at all!
@lurvleybunchococonuts The exhaustion is so intense! It's hard sitting at my desk at work all day. I definitely find myself dozing off periodically.  :# I'm sure it's especially hard after coming back from vacation.
@josie12367 Aww, your poor DD! That's so funny. I'm glad it went well telling everyone else.
@KristoKekerooni So excited to hear how the US goes on Monday!

How far along are you? 7w2d

How are you feeling? Ugh, I have the worst cold ever. This is my 3rd day calling in sick to work and I feel really bad, but I'm still feeling super germy and gross so I'm sure my coworkers wouldn't want me there anyways. On top of that, I've been feeling queasy and it's hard finding stuff to eat that sounds good. Yesterday I basically just ate soup all day.

Any recent/upcoming appointments? I had my first OB appointment yesterday. It was just the pregnancy confirmation, so I peed in a cup and they went through some of the pregnancy basics. They gave me lab slips for a bunch of blood work too. My next appointment is in 4 weeks. They'll be doing an internal exam and all that "fun" stuff.

  • Sorry for the late-ish responses....I can barely keep my eyes open when I sit down to Bump!

@KristoKekerooni Oh I would definitely go for grey as well if you're wanting to get rid of it. Grey seems to be the "it" colour for furniture right now. My appointment was good. Thanks for asking! It was just super quick. All they did was the ultrasound, but only long enough to take a couple of measurements, and print the pictures for my record. Maybe five minutes in the room tops?

@lurvleybunchococonuts So glad your  appointment went well! It's reassuring that they're going to follow the progression of these early days. Hopefully it helps with any anxiety you're feeling. Is your next scan on Friday?

@offtoneverland So sorry you're feeling so awful! How are you today? Any better? Hope you're able to get some rest and stay hydrated.  Feel better friend!

  • @josie12367 Thank you for the well wishes! I'm feeling so much better today. I'm still very congested, but I finally have some energy back and my head stopped throbbing. MH made me a wonderful veggie and chicken stew yesterday to help me feel better. He's been taking such good care of me, but it makes me feel a little bad too for having been sick with pregnancy symptoms and my cold the past couple weeks. I told him I'd make it up to him by letting him play lots of video games this weekend. :)
