How far along are you? 21 + 4

How are you feeling? So. tired.

Any recent/upcoming appointments? None, just had a regular check-up on Tuesday, everything is looking good. Will go back in 4 weeks and will have the glucose test then. Oh also, I have a massage appointment tonight LOL... my new favourite thing is to have a butt/hip massage...omg it is heaven, ladies I highly recommend getting one (from somebody who is trained in prenatal massage of course).

Rants/Raves? Just when I thought Spring had sprung...we have a winter storm rolling in today. It has started and it sucks. I'm so tired of the snow!!!

Questions? Has anybody had any experience with hypnobirthing (speaking to STM+s)? Did you find it helpful?

How far along are you? 21 + 5

How are you feeling? Stupid Cold. So congested. Got the ok to have Sudafed for a few days because I have no high blood pressure issues, but it still sucks. Also, starting to go to the point where my stomach is getting squished so I can't eat much without feeling full already. Then 5 minutes later I'm starving!

Any recent/upcoming appointments? Checkup on the 21st

Rants/Raves? yay for some normal hours as my show is over. But we are starting a Disney themed singout show in a few weeks so will start again soon. However, I'm kinda excited because baby's ears will be fully formed and will hear all the disney music for weeks!

GTKY: What is your favourite mocktail (selfishly asked, as I am going to a mocktail party and need some tips)? I've been having Ginger Beer on on occasion. I had a ginger beer with some grenadine and it was tasty. Like a less sweet shirley temple.

How far along are you? 20+6

How are you feeling? Physically I'm feeling pretty good. Feeling like my belly is huge which makes me self-conscious. I have always gotten shocked responses when people ask how far along I am and I have months left to go. Hasn't happened yet this pregnancy but I know they are coming. Emotionally, I'm a nervous wreck about my ultrasound today. Praying they see what they need to see with baby's stomach and everything looks healthy and normal.

UPDATE: Everything looked great! Baby's stomach was filled with fluid and looked perfectly normal! I was also happy to hear that my fluid level looked great because at 24 weeks with my last baby it was high (due to GD not being diagnosed yet). I was put on insulin shortly after that. So I'm hopeful that things are still going well and I will maybe pass my glucose test at 28 weeks.

Any recent/upcoming appointments? Ultrasound today at 3:00. Regular appt on 4/2. Fetal echo on 4/13.

Rants/Raves? My rant would be the stress of this ultrasound. But in better news, I leave for a fun work trip to New Orleans next Thursday and then we are headed to Disney World for our kids' spring break. I can't wait for the warm weather!

GTKY: What is your favourite mocktail (selfishly asked, as I am going to a mocktail party and need some tips)?
I'm not a big drinker to begin with and when I do I usually drink a beer. But if I had to choose a mocktail it would probably be something like a virgin strawberry daiquiri (is that spelled correctly?). Not sure if that counts lol.

@canucklehead123 I don't have experience with it but had heard a little bit about it on a few birth hour podcasts and I'm intrigued. I recently bought the book "Mindful Birthing" and plan to read that since it's a similar idea. But it's not the official hypnobirthing book. I've heard there is hypnobabies and hypnobirthing and they are slightly different in their approach. I need to look into both of them.

@nimmle a Disney show sounds so fun!

How far along are you? 23 + 1

How are you feeling? Mostly like crap.. not pregnancy related I just have a really crappy cold that doesn't want to go away... I found out my work neighbor had walking pneumonia last week so I'm a little paranoid. I did call my nurse and she said so far it still just sounds like a cold and no need to come in unless I'm worried. No fever or anything though so not dangerous or anything just annoying.

Any recent/upcoming appointments? One week from today for my 24 week!

Rants/Raves? My aunt died last week. Its sad, but shes been in bad health for awhile.. it is really driving home the point of taking care of myself though because my dad is only 10 years younger and no where near she was health wise (she has been in and out of nursing homes recently). Between being sick this week and having my whole family in town for a funeral today I have not accomplished much at work... oops..

Questions? Probably, but the brain isn't working right.

So I never make my own mocktails, but if I'm out i will ask if they have any specialities and get it if it sounds good. So that's helpful right?

How are you feeling? Pretty good. I’m at the point of pooped and have that full fast/hungry quicker phase

Any recent/upcoming appointments? Anatomy scan was Wednesday and everything came back good! They did a 3D of her face and omg, I’m more in love! She’s so flipping precious! She played with her hands and finger at entire time. Next regular appt is at end of month.

Rants/Raves? I got a yeast infection so that’s been pleasant. Not.

Questions? Do we get another scan before babe arrives?

GTKY: What is your favourite mocktail (selfishly asked, as I am going to a mocktail party and need some tips)? Oh gosh! I just got a good frozen tropical one and they just made it sans alcohol. I’ve also been asking bars to do tonic, lime and splash of cran.

@canucklehead123 that massage sounds great! I recently went to my nail salon and they did a 20 min leg massage with my pedi. Said they would do that more if i ask.

@nimmle so glad I’m not the only one in the tiny stomach club! And I’m secretly obsessed with some good Disney songs! That will be a fun show!

@Sarafuss so glad your ultrasound went well! I do always get nervous before as well. Disney will be so much fun and you’ll have nice warm weather! I just went to Magic Kingdom last week and had the best time! Take advantage of the Fast Pass + program!!!

@Sarafuss so glad everything is looking good with babe!!! Is the title of the podcast Birth Hour? I want to look into it - I'm becoming slightly obsessed with other peoples' birth stories...I am a researcher by nature.
@MrsMiller8588 so sorry about your aunt and your illness. Hope you're able to take it easy for the next few days.

@And846 did you have to pay extra/special request for the 3D? I have been wondering, as it was never an option at either of my scans...wondering if my radiology place just doesn't have the technology or if I could have special requested it... too late now, I don't get to see my little babe again until his birthday.

@And846 ooh that sounds good - a recently pregnant friend of mine also highly suggested getting your knees massaged. It sounded weird at the time, but now that I'm pregnant I can see the value for sure!! I actually had to cancel my massage appointment yesterday because of the snow and the terrible road conditions. Probably the 15th time snow has ruined my plans this winter...womp womp.

@And846 I only got another scan when I went over and they checked fluid levels, at around 41 weeks, just to see if I could keep going. Other than that nothing! I think unless your kid is breech (do they need ultrasounds to check that?) then you wouldn't get another one unless there is a concern. Gotta rely on baby kicks now to get reassurance!

@canucklehead123 with you on the sick of snow thing. We had a few days of 50 degree weather and now like, 2.5 weeks of snow and 25-35 degrees. Its supposed to be 19 degrees tomorrow. WTF. Also a butt and hip massage sounds amazing.

How are you feeling? Pretty ok, minus pooping hurting like crazy.

Any recent/upcoming appointments? Nothing til early April.

Rants/Raves? My butt hurts. Also I scheduled hair appts out past my due date and a foot reflexology massage on my due date. Pretty excited about a FIFTY MINUTE FOOT MASSAGE. Especially 40 weeks preggo in the middle of summer.

GTKY: What is your favourite mocktail (selfishly asked, as I am going to a mocktail party and need some tips)? I don't drink cocktails a lot, but I have a family member whose fam does a cocktail every year for xmas and when I was preggo with DS she did something with an infused simple syrup (can't remember the herb), sugared cranberries, and sparkling cider. For normal drinkers it included vodka and champagne(sparkling wine) i think. So good.

@canucklehead123 the 3D of her face after the scan was part of my doctors routine orders. The lady that did my scan said he does it because he wants assurance that everything is a-ok.

@SmashJam omigosh! That’s so crazy to just rely on kicks - in such a control freak and like to know all is well. Right now i only feel her kick at night a few times but i know that will ramp up more in the next few weeks!

@And846 think of this craziness....if you opted for just the anatomy scan, in some practices without genetic testing you would only see your babe that ONE TIME before you gave birth. I am ok with not having any til birth now that I feel kicks (and this time I have at least two more to check growth and heart), but before the anatomy scan its insane to me that people can wait 20 weeks. That's a lot of faith.

@MrsMiller8588 I hope you feel better soon! Being sick while pregnant is the worst!

@And846 I think it depends on your practice. My MFM practice follows patients more closely (twice weekly NSTs starting at 32 weeks for example) so I have ultrasounds scheduled for 32 and 36 weeks. But I think it might be standard with some OBs to have one around 36 weeks to check growth, fluid levels and position of the baby. I’m jealous that you got a 3D picture of her face! I asked the tech if she could do that last week and she they only do it for diagnostic purposes. She wasn’t the friendliest. In a prior pregnancy I had a tech switch to 3D for us though!

@canucklehead123 it’s called “The Birth Hour”. I’m obsessed with it and have listened to all of the old episodes (I listened to a lot of them in my last pregnancy). New episodes are Tuesdays and Thursdays.
