Random Questions I remember a few of you mentioning having an anterior placenta and I found out (while reading my US notes) that I have one this time around. Any complications come with this or is it pretty minor?
Rants/Raves We got 10+ inches of snow since Sunday night. Had a full snow day yesterday, got to work late today and half the city is still trying to shovel their way out. It's been sorta nice staying home but it was a heavy wet snow and I'm just ready for Spring!
If you could have lunch with anyone alive or dead who would it be? Jesus, hands down.
Hi ladies, I did several check ins early on but stepped away from the board for a bit. I am back and am hoping to stick around and be more involved now that I am feeling better and further along. How far along today? How big is baby? 20 weeks, banana!
New/Interesting/Festering Symptoms Biggest symptom is fatigue, I have been getting plenty of sleep but even then, I am dragging at work and ready to sleep when I get home. Other than that I have been feeling pretty good for now.
Appointments/US this week Nothing until the end of the month
Rants/Raves I'm just so excited to finally be at 20 weeks and be feeling her move so much, it has really picked up this week. My Rant is that so far when I tell someone that I am halfway today their response is along the lines of "the worst part is to come" or "yeah, you have the hot months left now". I am aware that it's not all downhill from here but just let me be happy today! I am celebrating the halfway mark by eating Ben & Jerry's half baked ice cream after work, any excuse for ice cream works for me!
If you could have lunch with anyone alive or dead who would it be? First person that came to mind would be my grandmother on my dads side that passed away when I was five, I don't remember her much and would love to be able to talk to her now.
How far along today? How big is baby? 23 weeks. size of a bunch of grapes or long as a barbie doll New/Interesting/Festering Symptoms increased heartburn and feeling more out of breath lately. Appointments/US this week I go in next week for my monthly Random Questions none this week Rants/Raves nothing here really either If you could have lunch with anyone alive or dead who would it be? I think I would love to eat with Jane Austen I love her books and that time period
How far along today? How big is baby? 19 weeks baby is the size of a mango
New/Interesting/Festering Symptoms: continued headaches, acne and just started having some lower back pain yesterday
Appointments/US this week: none this week. Anatomy scan and monthly checkup next week!
Random Questions
Rants/Raves: very disappointed at work. Just found out the position I had interviewed for is going to someone with less experience and is younger. Office politics and it’s frustrating.
If you could have lunch with anyone alive or dead who would it be? That would be my grandpa. He passed away when I was in the 8th grade and he was the sweetest man.
How far along today? How big is baby? I'm late, but I'll pretend it's yesterday still. 22 weeks! As big as a coconut now. New/Interesting/Festering Symptoms The heartburn is just getting progressively worse. Waiting to hear back from my doc on what I can try to take now and how long I have to wait to take it after the last round of Zantac. Appointments/US this week I think my next appt is 3/16. Random Questions Hmm, can't think of anything right now. Rants/Raves I used to keep a daily health journal. I looked today at when I was pregnant with DD and looks like I was feeling movement both high and low then, but I've really only felt movement with him low. Not sure if that means he's just positioned differently or what. I did finally notice on my last ultrasound pics that he's measuring ahead though (by 2-5 days). @zg49 - I don't have experience with an anterior placenta myself, but we discussed it during my birth class. As long as the placenta isn't blocking the cervix there's absolutely no concern. The only impact is that you have more difficulty feeling the baby because kicks to the sensitive stomach muscles are muted by the placenta. @kg_tx - welcome back! And congrats on hitting your half way point! You made me want ice cream though.
@MichelleAG05 Thanks for the info! I've had two other kiddos and this hasn't come up so it's new to me. I am seeing my OB again next week so I'll ask more info from her as well.
Late, late, late, as usual. Been MIA for a bit because of work, but I'm back! @zg49 My placenta is apparently "partially" anterior. The MFM didn't say anything about it being a problem and just said it meant I'd feel the baby move later than I would otherwise have and that I'd feel more movement on the side where the placenta wasn't up front. How far along today? How big is baby? 20 +2 (because I'm late posting)
New/Interesting/Festering Symptoms Night sweats, RLP, getting full easily.
Appointments/US this week Had one on Tuesday. Baby looked good, heartbeat sounded good, cervix looked good, so everything is...great!
Random Questions None!
Rants/Raves I'm short, and even though this is my first child, my baby bump is fairly large for 20 weeks. Everyone keeps making comments about it. Um ok. Yes I realize I'm fairly large for 20 weeks, no need for people to point it out. Andplusalso, all bodies are different so it doesn't matter.
If you could have lunch with anyone alive or dead who would it be? Serious answer: my aunt who passed away several years ago. Fun answer: Winston Churchill!
@lindsayleigh1989 Ooooh Jane Austen is a great choice! I'll have lunch with her the day after I lunch with Churchill.
