Sorry for the long detailed post, but im strugglinf with sating my pregnancy. Im either 7 wks 6 days or 9 weeks 2 days!
My periods used to be irregular. Once I starting the pill, they evened out to every 21 days (starting early in the morning on the 22nd day) and they lasted 3 or 4 days. However, Dec 10th my period started and lasted 15 days! Then on Jan 1st (right on schedule) I got a period, but it was very light and lasted 3 days. I ran out of BC on the 5th and wasnt able to get a new pack. Then on Jan 11th (not on schedule!) I bled again again for 3 days, but it was very slighttttyy heavier. For my LMP, do you think I should count the light period that came on schedule (Jan 1st) or the tiny bit heavier period that was soon after I discontinued birth control?

If you don't get a dating ultrasound very soon (within the next couple weeks), it's not going to be accurate. They are the most accurate the earlier they occur.
If you can't get one, just talk to them about it. Women have been having babies for thousands of years without due dates, and it's not the end of the world.
Dating ultrasounds aren't necessary. They are often recommended, however, to pinpoint an accurate due date, especially if you have irregular cycles. It's important to have an accurate due date because that affects things like inductions. If you and your doctor think you're 41 weeks and you're actually 39, they'll probably be pushing for an induction soon when you don't need one yet based on the baby's actual age.
Or if you choose to give birth outside of the hospital, those are usually pretty closely regulated. Typically, you can't have a baby outside the hospital before 37 weeks and after 42 weeks. So if everyone thinks you're 42 weeks plus one day, you'll have to go to a hospital when it could actually be that you're 40 weeks and you still have two more weeks of outside-the-hospital window.
All that to say, you'll probably be fine and it won't be a huge deal. The above is just things to keep in mind, and advice for anyone else looking for info on the subject. I was two weeks "late," and when my mom had me, the midwife said, "that is NOT a late baby!" My mom's cycles had been irregular, and they think I was more like a week or so early!
