I was supposed to travel Wednesday and Thursday this week for work, but it looks like the northeast is going to get another snow storm. I had considered cancelling because of the MS and flying in the evenings when it’s the worst. I decided I would try to go since I will only be there one more time this year, but I will not go with a big snow storm so...YAY!
@EErin86 Oh my gosh that sounds like so much fun! Share a pic of the dogs if you have one The art piece is beautiful. Love the colors!
AFM: excited for this week! I'm 13 weeks today and I'm telling my team at work about baby #2 during our meeting tomorrow (not a day too soon because my flowy tops aren't even hiding the bump at this point). Having dinner with some girlfriends Wednesday evening, sharing our news on social media with extended family and friends, then heading out of town for a wedding this weekend. While we're there we are going to a pro sports game I got DH tickets to for Christmas. We are all excited for a fun weekend away!

My husband is about to make a massive career change in the next month or two. It’s something we’ve been working on for a long time but never thought it would actually happen. Now the time is almost here and reality is slowly sinking in. We’re very excited but there’s so much unknown at this point. I know he will do well but it is going to take awhile for him to get a good base at his new job and give up the safety net of his current one. It’s going to be a very nerve racking next few months/year/forever but I’m praying it works out well for him/us. I’m proud of him for making such a drastic change and giving up a career he wasn’t happy with! Just a little scary timing with a baby on the way and all.
@klj0228 yay not having to travel and it not be a pregnancy related cancel!
@southernlady07 yay for telling work! It's such a relief for people to just know
Lol pic is a screen shot of a video, sorry, all my other pics were hard to see the dogs! There was an 80 mile 6 dog race and a 150 mile 10 dog race going on. Everything started Friday night and the downtown is crazy fun, they haul in snow and the start goes the length of town. I love all the crazy looking dogs, they are bred for performance so you get all sorts of colors/patterns
@born2run911 good luck to you and your H! That sounds very exciting and scary for sure. I think it's worthwhile to be happy with your job since so you spend much time there and work so many years of your life. Feel free to vent to is though if times are tough and you're needing some moral support!
@born2run911 I am going through the SAME thing with MH right now He will be making less money, but no longer working 60+ hour weeks. It is a great step for our family but the transitional period can also be scary.
@EErin86 They are so beautiful!! I want to go on a dog sled now...

Some creeper over in A18: "I’m a regular. And I’m not pregnant. You'd never know, the way I blend in with the rest of you. It’s amazingly easy." I mean, I am not surprised there is a lurker, but have you nothing better to do? Also, I was not lurking over there. Ha. I have a friend in that group who told me.
@mrsman2018 I totally lurk one up and one down. My due date is so close to the end of the month that half the time I feel like I'd fit in better with Oct, and then I like to lurk August for those rays of hope of what it's like to be out of first trimester.
stothi Is O18 any good? My due date is Sept 29 and I was sad cause I was in an October group last time. We are in a FB group now and I talk to them every day. Could not have navigated being a FTM without them. Curious to see what this group is like in Sept.
I thought about lurking in Oct bc I’m curious to see if my BIL’s wife will join, but I would literally just be stalking and that seems creepy lol.
My parents just left after a week + visit. I’m sad to admit that it was hard to have them here. I really need to learn to manage my expectations better, and accept the changes that come with aging parents. Anyway, back to normal now and looking forward to some relaxing evenings at home on the couch with DH. Hoping to start cleaning out the guest room / junk storage room this weekend to start making room for a nursery!

Wait can we revisit this? Who said this? Whaaaaaat?
I have to say that I have lurked on August 2018 before... mostly before Sept board was up in running but still do on occasion when I am extremely bored. I commented on a few of their posts for product recommendations but never formally introduced myself. With a Sept 2 due date, I guess I just felt also that I was more likely to have an August delivery date than Sept.
Yeah you guys got me curious so I headed over there last night to check it out. The post was made in the FFFC thread. No one is surprised and they assume the creepy person has a catfish account and now the confession account to tell them about the creepy activity.
Ugh, why are people the worst? Creepy creepers. Ugh.
I’m currently looking forward to April. DH and I are going to Pittsburgh (conference for me, he’ll work out of his company’s local office while we’re there) and DD with stay with my MIL. So we’ll have 4 days of being professional married people. I’ve already made a reservation for dinner the Saturday night......we WILL have a fancy meal. At a normal time. And the food will be hot. I can’t wait!
I think lurking other boards is totally fine, but super weird if you're not pregnant. And posting in the ones close to your due date is cool, and if you find something totally important in other boards, let people know you're lurking, but if you can help, then post. I love to go through and read all the birth stories.
Random not-pregnant lady making a point of lurking and making shit up just to blend in is super weird.

Am I the only one who read that and immediately thought, "uh, duh it's easy? This is the internet. And why does it sound like the person is totally proud of their intelligence level for accomplishing this?" Baffles me and yet part of me totally wants to know what drives a person to do that on a psychological level... deeper then the need for attention answer.
Re lurking: I was previously very active on another forum for a different topic, and we had a daily chat thread. Many of us knew each other irl, on fb, etc and people would share fairly personal things (the daily chat would be deleted at the end of each day). Well some crazy lady decided she had a problem with some of the regulars and to make a point, sought them out in real life and caused actual real life problems for them (sending things to their work, contacting partners, etc). It was terrifying and bizarre that someone would have that much free time.
Thats not to say we shouldn’t share here, but it’s a sad and random cautionary tale against internet crazies.
I shared about baby #2 during my work team meeting this morning and they were all super excited and supportive. Better yet, I found out after that my friend-turned-coworker is also expecting and is due at the end of September! So excited to have a friend IRL who is pregnant at the same time.

Thanks for all the kind words ladies! @southernlady07 good luck to you and your hubby also. It’s definitely worth it to be happier with your job even making less if it means you’re home more ❤️
Why would someone lurk around non pregnant that’s wild! Unless they were TTGP I could see it, but if not that’s just bizarre.
I'm so behind on my work I don't even know where to start. And my contract job is keeping me really busy which is ok, but takes time away from work related projects.
Aaaand my H was called to travel again today and tomorrow last minute by his boss. I'm so over this, makes me feel like me/my work schedule just doesn't matter. And it makes me kind of angry that H tells his boss that it's because of ME that he needs to know ahead of time if he's going to be traveling. Um, no, pretty sure you're just as much of a parent as I am so you're also responsible for taking care of our child. I just need to let it go, but man it's hard when you get that kind of news in the middle of the day.
*sorry ladies, I know you're sick of me complaining about this, thanks for putting up with me.
@nlc8424 *hugs* I'm sorry you're dealing with that and that is super short notice from his boss! I don't do well with short notice on those types of things because I'm a planner and like to have plenty of advance notice. I hope today and tomorrow go smoothly for you and your DS is super well behaved and goes to bed early tonight for you

Hey guys! Talking about lurkers and active boards makes me feel guilty because I want S18 to be awesome (and I'm sure it will be) but I feel bad that I'm never around. We randomly decided to change from being Team Green and we did the cake thing at home with my family. We're now Team Blue! It's fun because I've been Team Pink (babies 1&2), Team Green (baby 3), and now Team Blue for baby #4. Anyway, I swear I'll try to check more. I'm just so much better with Facebook!

@crispy11 it’s understandable for things to get a little hectic and not be around all the time. People are more upset to think about a non preggo lurking and participating. Unfortunately, this is the internet so it is something that can happen anywhere you participate. I believe the vast majority of people on here are pregnant and use this as a resource to interact and commiserate with people going through similar things.
And it is okay to change your mind about being team green!
@nlc8424 ugh I’m sorry. That’s a pain point for us too (well, for me really). I almost always end up having to be the one to take sick days to stay home with DS when the need arises. DH inevitably always has some “really important” back-to-back conference calls with higher-ups, and basically implies that whatever he has is more important than my own work projects and deadlines. I’m not bitter at all

Thank you for the empathy @southernlady07 and @fwtx5815, I appreciate it. It's so much easier to just know from the beginning of the day (or the day before...) that you're on your own for the night. My area is also predicted to get more snow tomorrow, and we just got 2 feet on Friday, so I'm less than thrilled with the idea of having to snow blow.
On a positive note, I was able to get some productive stuff done at work before I left this afternoon for two big projects which is good. I also told more people at work about being pregnant and I'm getting a lot of love so that makes me feel good!
I'm a full time sahm so it actually is my "job" to take care of buddy while hubby is working. One of the times he was working from home and was on baby duty before work, he neglected to inform me that he had an early meeting, so I didn't get up. He had to do his uber professional conference call while corralling a squirrely toddler. I didn't even feel bad. Usually I'll go out of my way to accommodate his work schedule since, you know, he keeps us clothed and fed and housed and all that, but there's been once or twice that he scheduled stuff without consulting me first and I made him act like an adult and find a sitter cause I already had plans and that was his mess to clean up. No fs given.
@stothi one of the things I'm really nervous about with 2 kids (both in daycare and exposed to lots of germs) is handling working full time and having commitments at work while my first priority is my kids. I'm contracted at multiple places, one of which I'm there 2 days a week (usually Tuesday and Friday), the rest of the time I'm at another facility seeing patients one on one in an outpatient setting. My overall job relies on me being present and scheduling appointments and actually seeing patients at my outpatient office to generate revenue; but there's also only one other dietitian available as back up to cover at the hospital I work at 2 days a week. Also, the two facilities are 30 minutes apart. So things get hairy if I need to unexpectedly stay home or leave early. I'm also expected to accommodate my schedule based on when patients can come in, so early mornings or late afternoon/evening is desirable, but I can't do that with my H traveling. So basically I need to have a sit down conversation with my manager to try and figure out how to handle this.
When our LO is born DH is going to become a stay at home dad. I travel a decent little bit for work, so I will keep in mind the things you have all said about your H not giving much notice when they can’t help.
Next Spring (2019) H is going to be starting his own business, which is a little scary, but his current schedule is not conducive to being a helpful or participating daddy. This will give him about 6 months home with bean before he starts his business. Then he will have some flexibility on his schedule too for when I am traveling and can’t be as much help.
@nlc8424 hugs to you - that sounds super frustrating I’m sure I speak for others as well when I say that no one is sick of your “complaining”, and anyway it’s not complaining, it’s venting! Let it out girl!
Not a legitimate problem but I still need moral support: i have a wax appt after work and I’m like, dreading it. I want to cry. I need to be an adult lol. My skin is super sensitive and gets insanely itchy when I shave so I started waxing my legs/bikini line, but it takes so long and I am soooo self conscious and uncomfortable with the whole process. Plus, hormones make everything more painful, and it hurts my back and legs to lay in that awkward position for so long, and OMG what if I have to pee?
@klj0228 I’m the opposite of a lurker. I always comment when I stop by! And I could probably save it for UO but I didn’t think team green was soooo much better than finding out. Both are fun!

I did start getting a bad sinus thing on Friday, I will say Flonase sensimist has been helpful. I'm totally dead today though and need all the naps.
