August 2018 Moms

Fit Mom Friday 3/2

I’m up at 4am with a raging sore throat so I figured I’d post lol

How are we doing with working out??

Re: Fit Mom Friday 3/2

  • Working out has been a challenge for me and my mental state, given how active I was pre pregnancy especially with instructing so I am happy that I did two workouts this week!

There are certain things I can’t do with my pubic issues right now so I modify but I did my own basement BodyPump the other day and then last night went to my first prenatal yoga class. Which BTW were any of you secretly in?? LOL. I had a 14 and 15 weeker  in my class which would put someone at end of August.

  • I did about 10 minutes on the WiiFit yesterday and was super winded just from that. I thing sinus issues are making breathing more difficult than it already is!

  • I've been getting to the gym 2-3 times a week and getting some time on the elliptical in. I was supposed to have my first session with my trainer today after getting pregnant, but then work closed so I won't see him (my work has a gym in the building with trainers so I get to go a couple times a week during the work day.)
  • @melbel0824 what a nice perk! I used to have a workplace gym at a previous job and it was great. My work now has yoga, which I go to but need more than that.
  • I went to Yoga on Tuesday and did a 40 minute prenatal workout at home yesterday. I’m averaging 2/3 times a week working out plus walking DS to the park. I wish I were doing better but I’m just so freaking tired.
  • I worked out with my other pregnant friend on Wednesday but I have to skip prenatal yoga on Saturday because I need to get my hair done, hopefully next week I will go more often.

I’ve been doing well, so I’m proud. We went on vacation to Key Largo last week and I even did three workouts there.

I stacked it on the stairs this morning, and I’m already pretty sore, so I’ll probably be skipping tonight’s workout. But, I got one in last night, so I’m OK with that.

  • I actually got out to walk my dog 3x this week (we like to "power walk" so I consider it a workout). Plan to go to yoga again tomorrow. Feel like my energy is back for exercise, but I still struggled to find the time. Off of call at work as of today for a whole month though, so hopefully that will improve!
  • I made it to BodyPump on Tuesday night (instructor did release #103). It felt good and surprisingly I wasn't as sore afterwards as I was in previous weeks. I had planned to do some cardio last night but after a crazy day at work I was wiped. Hoping to make it to the gym tomorrow AM instead.
  • @suzystar829 we just got release 105 to learn and it looks sooo tough lol. I’m not actively teaching right now until after baby but I said I’d sub here and there depending how I feel so I guess I have to learn it haha
  •  I'd like to try prenatal yoga, but the one place I've found here is really expensive. I'll keep trying to find a place I can afford. I've been skating 2-4 times a week for 2 hours at a time, but I'm getting to where I need to take a break halfway through. I get tired so quickly! Even refereeing for scrimmages is wearing me out.

@derbysquirrel majorly impressed with you. I can’t skate at all, but can’t imagine skating that often for two hours while pregnant.

  • Woo, I actually ran 3 days this week! Slower than a turtle, but 11 miles for the week is better than zero. Gonna try to keep it up next week.
  • @F47
Well I crapped out today after an hour and 45 mins after crushing my fetus doing the limbo. I also took two 5 minute breaks. I have no endurance right now.

  • @scottishlass1213 I am never really sure what release we are on! The instructor just made a point to mention it was 103 on Tuesday haha. The week prior she did a mash up of a few older releases (90s).
  • I like to do mash ups too after a few weeks of teaching the newest release. I get bored haha
  • You guys are doing great! I was consistently doing 4 days per week at about 30 minutes each. After my lovely brain bleed and hospital stay, I haven't been able to do anything for almost 2 weeks now. I haven't gone that long without exercising since I had DD. I need those endorphins! Doc said light workouts are fine but no weights, however I'm still so unbalanced, I'm not sure I could walk around the block right now  :|

    Hello from Detroit!

  • I've been walking 2 miles a day most days of the week. Haven't been lifting much - I just feel weak. But I got muscles before, I can do it again. Later. Lol.
  • @Firemanswife11
that's what I am trying to say to myself too - that this is temporary and I got super fit once, I can do it again.  I hope hahaha
