I know that in about three years, I’ll be one of the Moms using them- but I find the giant grocery carts with the plastic cab on front to be obnoxious. Those barely edge out the child sized ones with a flag that says “customer in training.”
@knottieamusements I avoid them completely by doing grocery pickup or Instacart. I’m inching my way to never having to enter a store with a child unnecessarily ever again.
My UO...I hate helicopter parents. I can understand being close by when your child is young. But when your child is 12, and old enough to babysit, you are not welcome in my house to chaperone our daughters’ “play date”.
I also want to thank the anti-vaccer (same mom) that my daughter is due for her two year old shots.
@knottieamusements those grocery carts are so hard to control, it sucks. Giant has them and whenever we go to Target DS cries because Giant is right next door and he wants that cart. It sucks. Some stores have plastic cars that are high up where the basket goes, those are much better.
@mesamyt I hate helicopter parents and anti vaxers, but I am not trying to start a debate right now.
My UO I hate that people assume since I have a boy, that I must want a girl this time. Really what I want is a healthy baby, but a boy would be way easier because we already have everything. Also, teenage girls are terrifying to me because I was AWFUL.
What's worse than helicopter parents... helicopter grandparents....my step son's Nana is all up in the business of everything. I swear she's more of the mother figure to my step son. Which wouldn't be that bad... If she wasn't a b***h.
@cdepperschmidt that annoys me too! I also hate when people who are not parents yet say things like “I could never have a girl”. You are a girl, what do you mean you can’t handle girls???I hate the notion that boys are easier and so having a girl is soooo hard. My DD is just as hard and just as easy as a boy just maybe in different ways. On that note I would love to have a boy so I could experience raising one of each bit I would also love for my DD to have a little sister too. I’m good either way.

I could go either way on the gender reveal stuff. I mean it is fun to celebrate with friends and family and do something creative to share the gender. However, some people use them to get gifts, which is dumb. That being said, we didn’t have one last time and won’t this time.
SUPER UO but I hate gender reveal parties. Please don't shun me!
Same. I find it weird to throw a party about a baby’s genitals. And don’t appreciate people expecting me to bring presents to that AND a shower. I do however LOVE a creative gender reveal. Babies should definitely be celebrated, but come on people.
@cdepperschmidt totally agree about the “you must be praying for a girl,” crap.
All I want is a healthy baby, and if I’m being honest, I LOVE being a “boy mom.” Having one of each would be amazing, but I’m also terrified to bring a girl into this crappy world, so I’m rooting for a boy. Also, like you said, handmedowns!
@knottieamusements I do hate the carts with the car. Like I just don’t see how they are practical or enjoyable. And how often do you think they are cleaned? I’m thinking never.
My daughter does like those little carts, but I can see it being a huge problem when she starts adding items herself and I’ll have to deal with a banshee while I take the stuff out of her cart at checkout...
The carts with the car are a fucking lifesaver. If there aren’t any available when I pull into the parking lot, we’re not going in. They make grocery shopping with two kids fun all of the sudden instead of a nightmare.
I’m Team Green, so I’m totally not on board with gender reveal parties. (“So, what are you having?” “I’m having a baby.” “No- a girl or a boy?” “Umm, not sure, I guess we’ll figure that out in a few years.”)
I think my Mom is sort of hoping for a girl so she can buy all the frilly lacy stuff (I was never into the frilly lacy stuff). I’m just afraid that, whatever the gender, they are going to want to play football. Then I’d have to figure out what a first down is and what being off-sides means. (I only watch the super bowl for the halftime show, and honestly, I don’t even watch that most years.)
I hate when people repost random pictures on Facebook without fact checking first. No it didn’t snow in Egypt and cover the pyramids and that photoshopped picture has been circulating for years.
I also hate those memes that say things like “we drank outta the hose, rode in pickup trucks and didn’t wear seatbelts and we’re okay.” Good for you!!!! Lots of people didn’t and that’s why we wear seatbelts and have laws against stupid stuff. STFU.
I don't really get big gender reveal parties either. We do want to do something fun to share the sex, but it will probably just be with our parents and siblings. We will actually find out just before Easter, so we are looking to have family together and find a fun way to tell them. I feel uncomfortable about baby and wedding showers anyway, like I'm really just asking you to bring me a gift... So I would not want to expect gifts at a gender reveal party.
