Rants/Raves/Questions (related to being a STM, stages your kids are going through, or anything else)? So I really just wanted to update about my last post re: terrible bedtime behavior. So we laid down the law about how we cannot help her with little things (animals, tissues, blankets, etc.) after the initial tuck-in and how we would take her to the bathroom once and after that she was on her own. The first few nights were terrible. But since her birthday party on Sunday, we told her that she's 3 now and she has to be a big girl, she's been pretty good! She's really taking her new age seriously. Here's hoping that this is the new normal and not a blip.
GTKY: Who are you rooting for at the Oscars on Sunday? Actually, I've never been less involved with the Oscars than I have been this year. I've just been so busy and out of it. But I think I'll go with 3 Billboards for best picture.

Rant- the house we put an offer in on over the weekend had another offer that they accepted. Back to square one. Rave- Had a great trip to see my friend in Arizona, and silver lining for the house, now we don't feel so rushed to finish getting ours on the market.
GTKY: Who are you rooting for at the Oscars on Sunday? I haven't seen many movies in the theaters this year, so I'm not even sure what all is in the running. I'm excited that I took Monday off for the girls' first dentist appointments, so I'll actually be able to stay awake late enough to watch them. In theory, anyway lol

@sandbar517 ahhh the wonderful process of home buying. I don't miss it. Though I'm sure we will be searching again some day when we feel we've outgrown our current house. Good luck to you and I'm glad you feel less pressure now

My picky eater is starting to try more foods! A small win but I'll take it.

I don't tend to watch awards shows. Just not my thing you know? But have fun, people who do!

Rants/Raves/Questions (related to being a STM, stages your kids are going through, or anything else)? Rant- DS likes to try to deflect or distract from what he is being asked to do when he needs to get ready in the morning and it makes me crazy. Rave- I didn't have to get up to pee the last two nights. I know it won't last, but I will take it while I can. Questions- Any ideas on how to get DS to stop swallowing toothpaste? I need to transition him to actual toothpaste, but the dentist recommended not doing it until he doesn't swallow it, which isn't happening.
GTKY: Who are you rooting for at the Oscars on Sunday? Seeing as how I have only seen Coco and The Greatest Showman, I guess whatever those two are up for?

@sandbar517, I put so much work into buying our house that I NEVER want to move again! It's so stressful! I'm sorry the house fell through. Hopefully you'll find the perfect house for you!
@onesmallcoconut, getting a kid to try new foods is HUGE!
@mileswithmyles, I need to do the same with DS. I have NO idea how to get him to spit out the toothpaste! I feel so behind on this.

DS is going through a whining phase. His teacher seems to think it's because of the baby coming. It makes me nervous about the behaviors that are going to arise when she is born. I bought a book this weekend about getting a baby sister that she will "give to him" when she's born. He LOVES books, so I figure that and maybe a couple Thomas the Train toys might be a fun "from your sister" present.

Rants/Raves/Questions (related to being a STM, stages your kids are going through, or anything else)? DS is sooooo busy and he is starting to talk so much it’s unbelievable! I’m definitely anxious to see how he is going to handle baby brother coming home from the hospital. I’m also back to feeling first trimester tired

@sandbar517 we sold, purchased and moved in the few months before before baby was born during my last pregnancy too. Hoping that things go well for you guys, the uncertainty while the details work themselves out it’s hardest part. Sending positive vibes your way! I’m sure the wait will be worth it in the end.
@onesmallcoconut , is it actual food or texture thing? My DD will NOT eat carrots. Even like with brownsugar thanksgiving style ones lol. She will eat them in homemade veggie tots, go figure.
@sandbar517 i was looking at selling and buying and then found out we got bfp really quick. With dd1 work and that, it was too much for me. Solidarity lady. Hang in there.
@clee2009 im constantly exhausted.
@JNCPro3130 my pediatrian gave me the heads up at DD1 30mo checkup to expect some regression and whining now and then when baby comes. She advised to make sure you carve time out specifically for your older child to help. And i am currently looking for big sistee gifts too.

Rants/Raves/Questions (related to being a STM, stages your kids are going through, or anything else)? She has been on nap strikes lately but will still do quiet time in her room. But i want to nap lol. And DH has been getting on my nerves bc he has no sense of urgency about the baby coming. I keep saying, "hello, 3rd trimester, this baby csn literally fall out of me tomorrow, get s***done please"
