Aw, thanks, guys. I really appreciate how concerned you all were and wish I could say all my fears going into the birth were not warranted, but turns out they were, plus a few more. I will explain what happened maybe later today or tomorrow, but a bit hesitant because I don't want to freak anyone else out heading into labor. We just had bad luck with a combination of labor and pregnancy complications, but all the things that happened combined are probably NOT common all in the same pregnancy so I hope when I do share here that I don't give any of you guys a heart attack in your final weeks. And the pediatricians assured me there will be no longterm clinical significance so although it was traumatic we feel very lucky that the worst did not happen.
How many days in advance does it take to schedule an induction? I told my doc yesterday I’d call Monday if there’s no action over the weekend to schedule, but would that put us near like Thur/Friday or earlier?
@slr229 I imagine it depends on the hospital and how busy they are. My OB made the call on Thursday to induce me for Saturday morning. I'm not sure how the magic happens behind the scenes because my OB's office called me saying she put in for 6-7am Saturday, but the hospital will call me with the final time and it could be anywhere from 5:45am-9:30am. We're supposed to have a snow storm this weekend, so I'm hoping they'll be slower. I know that sounds silly, but I guess if people have a choice of Saturday vs. Monday when the storm is gone, they'd go with Monday.
I had a NST this morning, went shopping for three hours, bought some clary sage oil to try, and got a massage. Hopefully all of this will help labor to start. I am so ready- I was measuring at 42 weeks on Wednesday at my appointment when I was 38+5.
We lost power and I'm hoping all my groceries don't get ruined! We lost it at 4 and hopefully will have it back by 830. I'm cramping and a little stressed I could go into labor tonight. We are suppose to get snow so I'm just worried it will be hard for family to get here to watch D'S if I do go into labor....eeeekkk
I thought this was cute, but my second son (three years old) was the one I thought would be the least interested in his baby sister is the absolute most involved and loving sibling she has. He said she was his princess and tonight went over to read to her. Just being an AW, but he's so damn cute with her.
@DDRRT1982 That is so precious!! I love when older siblings read to younger ones! I did that with my little brother and it’s a very fond memory of when he was an infant
my DS is totally smitten with his little sister! He gives her kisses, tries to hold her hand, and comes to smile at her when she’s crying this is the only pic I’ve gotten of them together so far lol but I love it so much!!
I used Amazon Fresh for the first time today and it was awesome. I basically meal planned and ordered the groceries online and it was delivered this morning. If it's in your area it might be helpful PP. Anything to keep from going to the store with everyone.
@DDRRT1982 good call. I live a block from Kroger and can order online and just pull in and pick it up. I will have to pick Dd And DS up from school so i figure that will be easy to do. I don’t even want to grocery shop right now with baby coming any day. It may be a day by day thing this week instead of meal planning. Plus DD has been sick for almost a week and I don’t want to take her grocery shopping.
ugh I also put off grocery shopping this weekend and now I really have to do it. We need regular items and I'd like to make another freezer meal or two...but we'll see if that happens.
