Trying to Get Pregnant

WTO Thursday 3/1

This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. • Month/Cycle: 13/10

    CD: 8

    WAYDTGKU: OT

R/R: Rant: Dropped my car off at the mechanic this morning. Needs a new gas tank :s I have put so much money into this car, but it just isn't worth it anymore. We need a new one anyway so...Rave: I am going car shopping on Saturday. I am determined to see this as a good thing despite the expense. It will feel good to save on fuel at least and I have an in at the dealership.

    CS/Q: -

GTKY: What is your go-to make yourself feel better, bad day (or CD 1) pick me up? If it is AF showing up, I like to have a cup of full caff coffee in the morning and a beer in the evening. For a general pick me up, poutine all the way!

  • Month/Cycle: 5/5

    CD: 14

WAYDTGKU: Tonight begins the HIO marathon. Tomorrow I'll start using OPKs. Still have my fx for a longer LP.

R/R: Rant: My DH has to do a 2nd SA and he's only able to do it on Mondays due to his job and having to have the SA to the lab before noon, and wouldn't you know that this weekend is my FW! So we'll have to wait until week after next to do another SA. I don't want to waste our FW, I think that's the best thing to do? Rave: It's almost the weekend! Have plans to go hiking with friends Saturday so I'm looking forward to that!

    CS/Q: None at the moment!

GTKY: What is your go-to make yourself feel better, bad day (or CD 1) pick me up? Exercising always makes me feel better! I also like to splurge every now and again, so maybe an iced caramel macchiato :)
  • @meladams10 Fx for you!! I wouldn't want to waste the FW either just for my mental health. Do what is right for you guys! I've been doing some back, shoulder and arm exercises for the wedding (damn strapless dress) and I feel like I could rip a car in half :)
  • @meri-mac Good luck with car shopping! Sometimes it can be daunting, so I hope you have some luck (: Arm exercises are my favorite! It's great to feel strong and have toned arms, especially for a strapless dress! Spring/Summer is right around the corner!
  • @emmasemm Enjoy your break even if you do have to write your thesis. It's nice not to have to do both at the same time! I do love a good 80s belter as well. I usually combine it with dancing in my pjs.
  • @meri-mac I am jealous of poutine. It seems like something that I would find ridiculously delicious, but sadly I don't live anywhere near Canada. Occasionally a place around here will have it but I'm suspicious of its authentic deliciousness.

@meladams10 Sorry about H's sa getting in your way. I agree to a "hio marathon" as you say too. That's what I would do. And it does feel like a marathon sometimes doesn't it?? Exhausting. Lol

    Month/Cycle: 2/2

    CD: 1 (ugggghhhhh)

WAYDTGKU: Opk, hio, pre seed, must get pnv this week!

R/R: I was going to test this morning (due to lack of self control) but alas! Af had other ideas. I'm fine with it as it was only my first cycle and I was trying reallllly hard not to feel like a special snowflake who would get knocked up on the first try. But it was just bleh first thing in the morning. I feel better now that I've showered. :)

    CS/Q:

GTKY: What is your go-to make yourself feel better, bad day (or CD 1) pick me up?
Asked for selfish reasons obviously. Mine is generally wine or a beer and something stupid on tv. There's just something about a glass of wine and some Netflix and husband time that makes me feel better at the end of the day.

  • @rosebud332 Poutine should be no nonsense. Fries should have the thickness of steak-cut, but longer. Cheese should be squeaky curds, not string. Beef gravy should be thick. You should instantly regret eating it, but it is delicious :) I'm sorry AF showed, but glad you are feeling better. I can't speak for everyone, but I definitely felt like I was going to be special :p

R/R: Sprained my ankle bad this morning so I`m stuck on the couch for the day.

    CS/Q:nope

GTKY: What is your go-to make yourself feel better, bad day (or CD 1) pick me up? Normally I go for a walk but not today.
  • @maureenmce Sorry for AF. I am thinking a Toyota Corolla maybe. My fiance always buys Toyotas and even if he does no maintenance, they last forever. I'm currently calorie tracking and if I'm feeling like a latte, I just get it skinny with no whip. Yum. Now I want one...
  • @maureenmce Sorry about af and wasting a test! I was going to add earlier that the only thing good about this morning was I didn't have a chance to waste that test.  :s I haven't watched queer eye but I've been thinking about it. I never watched the original so I'm not sure what I'm getting myself into. But I'll pretty much watch anything haha. And chai tea latte sounds delish!

  • @rosebud332 It's been so long since I watched the original show, so I'm not sure how different it is, but the new one is basically a makeover show for guys, where 5 gay guys who have expertise in different areas (cooking, home design, fashion, grooming, etc.) help straight guys who are struggling with those things to makeover their lives. They also help with confidence and dating and stuff like that. It's just incredibly sweet. You forget sometimes that single guys, especially older guys, aren't told very often (or ever) that they're handsome, or how to use moisturizer or cook or be confident in who they are. It's just a cool thing!
  • Im kinda glad to see its mostly folks i dont know on here (since it means many of my old gals have moved on!) Im an old timer here who took about a year off the dailies (but active in Infertility,TTCAL, and some other places)
i look forward to chatting with you ladies this cycle
meri-mac omg...so jelly. I havent had a full caff coffee in almost 2 years!

meladams10 I think your plan to hold off on the SA is smart... and also jealous of your macchiato :)

emmasemm hey girl! In a way its good you can just get that thesis out of the way! Hows it going sourcing the monitoring clinics

rosebud332 I second the wine! It pairs with my chocolate perfectly....Best TTC comfort food/drink :)

Stargazer1lily Nooo! Sorry about your ankle!

maureenmce Ugh, I hate the old: "Test On AF" day thing...

    CD: 1 (I think/guess)

WAYDTGKU: Au Naturel this cycle, FET in April... all the pills, sparkly new ute, might throw in spells and chanting....

R/R: Just hoping these mega cramps go soon (withdrawal bleed/first period post uterine septum removal surgery)

    CS/Q: nope

GTKY: What is your go-to make yourself feel better, bad day (or CD 1) pick me up? Chocolate

  • Hello WTO ladies! All the talk of delicious poutine has lured me in from lurking and man am I feeling a need for some now. Unfortunately like @rosebud332 I'm so far away from Canada, I'm suspicious of the poutine I can get (although it might not stop me from doing a swing by a place anyway).

    Month/Cycle: 5/5

    CD:10

WAYDTGKU: There was bit of a meltdown last month with the charting so DH and I agreed that this month we're keeping it low tech and trying the old fashioned approach.

R/R: Rant: This week has been really frustrating and awful and sucked. They're doing a 'staffing adjustment review' at work and no body is outside the scope of the review (except very senior staff) so it all feels a bit awful and I hate being there with it hanging over our heads. Also DH got another rejection on the great job hunt which makes moving and having a fresh start in an affordable city feel pretty far away. Rave: I just ordered some beautiful new wool for a project I'm working on with my MIL. We're doing a knit a long and I'm making my first ever shawl on circular needles. This required buying yet more wool (my stash is now hiding in 3 places around the house) but I'm quite excited. I have never tried this sort of pattern before and I'm already lost but it's nice to be doing it with her for help.

GTKY: What is your go-to make yourself feel better, bad day (or CD 1) pick me up? Lately it's been knitting. I'm not that great so I've started challenging myself a bit more. Knitting and chocolate.
  • @dragonette505 Hi! I have a uterine septum as well. I hope your recovery is going well and you're feeling 100% soon! I'm hoping to not have to have it as it seems the risks outweigh the benefits for me currently. Crossing my fingers it stays that way. Glad for you that you are off the bench post surgery!

Yeah... this is my first cycle after surgery so hoping to get a gold star after my next check. So glad you didnt need a surgery! My septum was pretty small (as visualized via ultrasound) but turns out the base covered about half the lining of my uterus and that could only be seen on mri :/
  • @meri-mac good luck with the car shopping. Hopefully you'l get an amazing deal

@meladams10 I think what you are doing is right. No point wasting the FW this cycle

    @emmasemm I love 80's rock music!! :D

    @rosebud332 sorry about AF

    Month/Cycle: 8/8

    CD: 17

    WAYDTGKU: opp, BBT, PNV

R/R: I don't know what's going on with my body. Every cycle is like a new thing. Last cycle had late O which ended in a 41 day cycle and now this cycle I've had 3 days of strongly positive OPK so far. BBT is still low though. DH will be coming tomorrow for the weekend so I'm really hoping O day is tomorrow and hasn't happened yet but I don't know if that's possible if I've already had 3 days worth of positive OPK. If I O'd today that would mean timing is -3 for this cycle :( and I don't like the odds of that. I wish we'd get a break and somehow the timing would work out!! this long distance TTC is so hard!!!

    CS/Q:--

GTKY: What is your go-to make yourself feel better, bad day (or CD 1) pick me up? eating a cheat meal (burger and fries), ice cream
  • @dragonette505 Oh no! Supposedly mine is small too, but I didn't know that it was possible for the base to be that large. The whole thing sucks and it stresses me out but I'm hoping it doesn't cause an issue for me going forward. Good luck to you!

I think for most ppl its fine... after (TW!)  4 miscarriages (end TW) my RE was not comfortable transferring just based on other people’s work. Since you know it’s there, if you have any more issues, it’s easy to have an mri to rule it out. But since they don’t think it’s an issue for you it’s probably fine. Ps... I also never heard anything like that about the base till my mri.... but it makes sense as to why (tw) babies couldn’t stick.... they couldn’t get access to the actual uterine lining :/
  • @emmasemm My DH and I HIO on Thursday and he did his sample that Monday. That's a pretty good idea you gave me though! So I think this time we will HIO closer to his SA. Thank you!
@rosebud332 Sorry about CD1 :( A good drink is always a good pick me up! I'm looking forward to having one or two tonight. I hope you do too!
@Stargazer1lily I hope your ankle is feeling better!
@maureenmce I swear the universe does that to us! The second you POAS here comes AFs ugly self! Sorry for CD1 :(
@dragonette505 I hope you start feeling better soon!
@mrsduddles All of the charting can really be stressful. I'm glad you're taking a break. It becomes an obsession fast.
@nasah15 I cannot imagine being long distance and TTC. I'm thinking of you!

  • @dragonette505 I'm so very sorry for your losses.
