I had my 12w ultrasound this morning. It looks like nuchal translucency thickness was somewhere around 1mm to 1.6 mm so I *think* (HOPE!) that is wonderful news. We're still waiting for the Harmony test results, which we should have by middle of next week.
The tech couldn't get a good profile shot, but she said she saw the nasal bone, which is another good sign. We tried for a long time and I even got up to walk around, but no dice. I have to go back to see if she can get a better shot of it on Wednesday.

Meeting tomorrow with MFM and geneticist and getting another ultrasound. Not sure what this ultrasound is for. The gal that called to set it up said viability scan but I thought we did that 2 weeks ago. I'm normally not enthusiastic about extra scans or testing but I didn't get to see baby at this point last time so I'm actually fairly excited to see this little guy. I'm less excited about meeting with the MFM and geneticist. The MFM I don't mind quite as much cause I am old and did have that preeclampsia last time, but I think it's dumb to meet with the geneticist "just because." There's no problem that we know of at this point or any reason to suspect one, so I really don't see the need for the meeting.
@starla. Yay! My tech said rhey want to see it under 3mm, and sounds like they got a couple good measurements well below that. Hope that helps you feel better about how things are going! ❤
@BusinessWife all the extra stuff is cause I'm an old lady. I'm 39- gasp!!! I mean that's pretty much one foot in the grave dontcha know? There's nothing that runs in the family on either side to be checking on, nothing about my first child to show concern over. It's all about me being "old."
Gah @stothi I told DH about my official "elderly multigravidum" dx and we both got a good laugh. And by laugh I mean... <img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/5020794/uploads/editor/k0/cfk0crs401wt.gif" alt="">
@stothi I kind of have a similar thing going on with an extra cautious OB. I have PCOS and am insulin resistant, so I take Metformin. This time around my OB wants me to meet with a diabetes educator, get a blood glucose meter and test my levels periodically toward the end of my pregnancy. I did NOT have gestational diabetes in my last pregnancy and am not even technically diabetic, so this just feels like extra work/worry for nothing. The clinic she referred me to in the hospital doesn't contact insurance to check coverage, so I have to do that myself. I called today and we still don't know if the class will be covered because the hospital is in-network, but the educators are not. It all depends on how they bill. Arrggh.

@fwtx5815 can you contact the diabetes program to ask how it's billed? I deal with this routinely and check insurance for 99% of the patients seen at my office. My coworker and I both bill under the facility, not as individual providers and this often makes a difference.
Met with MFM and had my NT scan today. Good news all around. MFM wants to do growth scans every 4 weeks starting at Week 24 but otherwise no extra intervention!
Thanks for the insight @nlc8424 and @klj0228! I'm going to have to call them tomorrow to verify they'll bill under the clinic/hospital and not as individuals. I'm glad to hear that it seems like most places bill under the facility. I was actually supposed to see them last week but I never got around to verifying insurance coverage until today, and my glucose meter was out of stock at my pharmacy, which they'd requested I bring to the session. It's finally back in stock so I'll grab it on my way home tonight and try to get this thing knocked out soon.

Oh, and I forgot to mention also, with my OB being extra cautious, she's going to have me do a 24-hr urine catch in second trimester since I had high BP toward the end of my last pregnancy. She wants to use it as a baseline in case I develop pre-e symptoms later on. For the uninitiated, that's where you have to pour all your pee for 24 hours into a jug and REFRIGERATE it. good times. I had to do this last time with no notice (which is usually the case when they're watching for pre eclampsia, things can progress quickly), which meant I had to take a day off work. This time I can at least plan to do it over a weekend.

My 12 week appointment is Friday, of course the day after all my coworkers will find out I'm pregnant. I'm very excited to hear the heartbeat on the Doppler though!!!!!!
I am 12 weeks tomorrow and a FTM. After our first ultrasound at 6 weeks, we saw a heartbeat flicker. The doc said the heartbeat was low, but not to worry (yeah right). We went in today and heard a strong heartbeat at 163 BPM. I can not tell you how happy I was. Little one is growing just as he should. I'm guessing it's a boy and we find out April 9th for sure.
My first appointment is tomorrow!! I am 10 weeks! I am so nervous/excited!! I got my BFP 4 weeks ago so it feels like I have been waiting forever!! I need to see this baby and hear a heartbeat to truly believe this is real!!
Alison & Britten-Married April 16, 2011 in Miami Beach
Farrah Ann arrived May 4, 2012- 6 weeks early! 5 lbs 6 oz. and 19 1/4 inches
@BusinessWife if they test it will be clear. After that 4 day migraine that caused the whole mess, they've actually decreased in severity to minor headaches that go away mostly on their own.
Little buddy waved during the ultrasound today!!! Eep!!! Making this Mama's heart melt! Baby is measuring correctly and heartbeat is right where it should be. Did I mention that little buddy waved? Had my blood drawn for Panorama, left a urine sample to set up baseline protein and whatnot because of my history of preeclampsia and set up appt for NT scan. MFM and geneticist told me I'm real old and showed me charts on the chances of my baby being f-d up. They said they were going to do more monitoring this pregnancy cause I was just AMA-lite last time and now I'm AMA for realz.
Turns out I don't need to go back tomorrow to get a profile shot. I wasn't wondering why she was doing those measurements when I told her we did the Harmony test. Oh well. At least we got some additional reassurance.

Had an appointment and was surprised to also get a bedside ultrasound which was nice. Talked about potential birthing options and my doctor is comfortable birthing baby B breech as long as they are similar size or smaller than baby A. So far I’m happy with all the medical professionals I’ve been working with. Looking forward to the next appointment in 3 weeks. Doctor said we should find out the sex then. Eager to see if I’ll be a boy mom of 3 or have DS and 2 daughters. Time will tell.

Doc warned me they may not be able to find heartbeat because I'm only 11+2 and 12 is the usual time. She tried and thought she had it a couple of times but mine is overpowering so she couldn't be certain. US tomorrow at 11 to check in for my peace of mind. **TW** my boss had a 12wk loss in July and her experience was similar (unable to find heatbeat) **End TW** so I'm a tad paranoid. She said everything feels right on track so she's not worried.
@prpl11butterfly fingers crossed for you. It can be hard to hear on a Doppler this early sometimes, especially if placenta is up front.

@prpl11butterfly Hoping for a good scan for you tomorrow. I remember last time with DS, I had to have an ultrasound at my 11 week appointment because she couldn't pick up the HB with the doppler. It really is still fairly early to pick up from the outside. FX.

@prpl11butterfly, hope that all goes well with your appointment tomorrow. I've also had to get a couple of ultrasounds with 2/3 of my sons around 11 weeks for the same reason. Sometimes it's just hard to get a good read with Doppler at that stage.
As for me, I have my MFM appointment on Thursday for the NIPT, US, and some other additional blood work, and then I have my 12 week appointment with my regular OB on Friday.
Thanks ladies! I appreciate the ressurance. I feel good knowing that she thinks she had it but just couldn't get it over mine. She really didn't seem worried so I'm optimistic. Although it did really tick me off when DH said "Well do you really 100% need me there?" because has a couple appointments himself and has lots to do at work. He's still alive....for now....
@prpl11butterfly oooo...I just shot your hubby a nasty side eye via the internet! Yes! He needs to be there! For what it's worth, I feel very optimistic that everything is fine because everything lines up with how far along you are, you know? But I totally get how even a moment's flicker of doubt feels like a damn life time when we are talking about our babies. Today at my ultrasound she kept talking and skipping all over looking at uterine measurements and I had to wait like an entire 1 minute before she stayed on the baby long enough for me to see the heartbeat and I almost screamed at her to stop moving the wand around and let me look at my child damn it!!! And I'm a fairly calm person in general. So yeah, your doc thinks everything is fine, you think everything is fine, everything probably is fine- but your husband still needs to be there cause it can be scary as shit for a few minutes there and it's not fun to do alone.
@prpl11butterfly - I'm glad they're getting you in for an u/s for peace of mind. It can be hard to find and hold the HB on a doppler when baby is so small. DS would always try to move away from the doppler too so sometimes as soon as we thought we caught the HB he would move away and we'd lose it again.

@prpl11butterfly With my first they were unable to find the hb around 11w with the doppler, but all was well on the u/s.
I just had my 12 week appointment. All went well, got to see the little one on the ultrasound and he/she was so active! Not super impressed with my dr so far, so I may reschedule with another within the practice for my next visit.
Had my 12 week appointment today and my uterus is apparently measuring about 11 weeks but my Dr. didn't seem worried at all and is sending off the paper work for my "big"/only ultrasound at 18-20 weeks.

Had my pregnancy confirmation appointment on Monday. It was great! I'm measuring exactly where I had estimated based on my period, September 26 due date. Blood work and urine was all normal. Baby was moving around during ultrasound, and I was surprised how much he/she looks like a baby. Was a huge relief since we had a CP over the summer.
I had my 12 week scan today and met with the genetic counselor and did all the blood work (NIPT plus all the 1st trimester stuff because I had not had any blood work since week 4). Everything went great!!! All of the NT stuff that they were looking for was in the normal range - the NT measurement was less than 1 mm and the nasal bone was there. The baby was super active! Jumping around and doing somersaults. The only weird thing is that the baby is measuring a week ahead (I’m 11w6d and the baby is measuring 13w). They don’t want to change my due date. They said the baby is just big. And it’s nothing to worry about. But, I find that a little odd.
NT scan this morning and everything looked great! HB was 165, neck measurement was 1.6, and baby was measuring a week ahead of LMP date (which puts me closer to my suspected O date and when I turned a HPT).
@Patience7150 Yay!!! I’m glad everything looked good. Such a good feeling! Did they change your due date? I am also measuring a week ahead. They didn’t change the date though.
@Patience7150 Great news! I'm confused though: did you O on CD7?!
