  • First post for the week!
I am feeling great! I have lots of energy. I have a never ending hunger though and I'm still super constipated.  Tmi but the struggle is so real.  I ordered my groceries (if you can do that in life either delivery or pick up at the store, it's a game changer). All the food I ordered was for digestion.  I threw $5 at the 17 year old who found all my groceries and got the hell out of there.  Cheers to prune juice.  Nasty.

How far along: 17 weeks and 2 days

Appointments this week: Yes! Finally!! Thursday at 3.  My ob always takes forever to see me.  I always have to take the whole afternoon off.  It's worth it.  I can't wait to hear the heartbeat.  No ultrasound though because I'm having the anatomy scan on the 14th at the radiologist.  He gave me the option for a high risk because of my advanced maternal age.  Score.

Hope everyone is feeling awesome. Does anyone know if I can upload a picture from my phone for HDBD? I don't love the idea of having a picture on my work computer.

  • 20w1d. I'm excited to be this far along but I still have so much anxiety. Talking to the psychiatrist on Thursday was really helpful, but at the moment I don't feel pregnant. Is that weird? I still wake up at least once in the middle of the night and my lower tummy feels hard but I haven't felt the baby move or kick. I know I just need to relax and take it easy, but that's easier said than done! Just another two weeks till next appointments where I can hear the baby's heartbeat and see the baby again! (Take 2, anatomy scan) I don't know if I can't feel the baby move because of my placenta or because I just have more padding (love handles and keeping the baby comfy and all!), or if it's something else but I'm trying to be okay with waiting another few weeks of feeling the baby move.

In more cheerful news, my mom surprised me with maternity clothes! I thought we were going to order them online together but when we showed up to dinner, my parents had maternity clothes on top of a rocking chair, all for me. And, my parents agreed to host a baby shower at their house for us, so we're tentative now for a co-ed family party in May. Yay! Then on top of that, my dad said he wanted to have a separate shower with his co-workers so they'll host another event for us. They always host dinners with his coworkers so it's nothing new but it did surprise me. Either way, I'm glad we'll have one big event planned out in early May, which will give me time to rest and prepare the rest of my third trimester.

@Irisheyes81 yes I'm using the app and it looks like you should able to upload pics from the app. Ah, prune juice and prunes! I have a supply of prunes but haven't made myself drink prune juice. Activia yogurt really works for me, and drink lots of water too! I still deal with constipation too so just keep up the small meals. Sometimes though I just want an enormous sub and bag of chips. LOL

@2HopefulMoms congrats on being able to stay up late! It's tough LOL
  • How're you feeling this week? Still good! Enjoying the calm before the storm so to speak. My only issue has been constipation :(
    How far along? 19 +1
Appts this coming week? Not until March!

I think I finally felt the baby moving today. I know once I start feeling her I will connect better, so I am pretty anxious for that!

I am starting to clean out the room for the new baby. She will be moving into oir home office, but both my husband and myself are super reluctant to give up our office since we both work at home. I have been debating on having the baby share her sister's room (DD will be 3 years old the month after the baby arrives), but I can just foresee soooo many sleep issues with them waking each other up. I must have been crazy when I decided on a 3 bedroom house with no office, but at the time we were pretty certain we wouldn't ever have kids
  • @2MomsHoping That renewed energy in 2nd trimester is so great! Hooray!
@Irisheyes81 Yes to digestion foods, but mine aren't working! I'm so backed up, despite the prune juice I'm drinking like it's my job :(
@jr102217 It's not weird at all, I totally understand. Yay for new maternity clothes :)

How're you feeling this week? Feeling ok, my heartburn is getting much worse though. I have to eat small meals throughout the day. All big meals come back up with throw-up-burps which are no fun at all. I also have to stop eating by 7p or I can't sleep from the heartburn.
How far along? 24 weeks tomorrow
Appts this coming week? My next prenatal appt is on Thurs! Excited to hear baby girl's heartbeat. I've been feeling her move daily now, but it's still nice to hear.
  • Glad to hear everyone is doing well this week hoping it continues!!

I'm feeling ok but hate that I always feel like I can't breathe so thats not pleasant and concerns me!  Sleep is still uncomfortable but I know it's only going to get worse so it is what it is.

    How far along? 25 + 4

Appts this coming week? I have my glucose test and follow up appt wed with my OB, today I've got 99 days to go woohoo down to double digits I'm so freaking excited!!!

NEIGHBOR question.  So my upstairs neighbor just moved in and used some chemical something where I wore a mask for the rest of the night...it was awful coming into the apt and too late to say WTF!!!  I dont take tylenol to try not to take anything I certainly dont want to breathe bad crap in.  I dont use all the products u shouldn't etc and then I have to breathe in someone elses garbage.  Any thoughts on how to approach them?  Thank goodness i'm not in my first trimester but still!

@Irisheyes81 @cseley321 Glad you're feeling great constipation is no joke!!  Have you tried stool softeners or mirilax?  I was super scared to take anything extra...and then TMI it was soooo bad I was just stuck and I had to give in.  I take stool softeners 3x a day and mirilax when needed AND I still have issues almost regardless of what I'm eating.  I feel fortunate that my OB that the US and doppler are all in one and I get to see and hear my baby at the same time.  And yes you can upload pics from mobile that's how I do it.

@TravelingCouple Indigestion is the worst and I've had it from day one!  Are you taking anything for it.  I was just taking tums and after the first trimester I was just suffering so much so I asked if I could take anything else.  Pepcid AC, still didn't make much of a difference.  Now I'm taking a prescription that is helping but still need to take tums after I eat almost every time. I feel your pain as I go through the same BUT it is less with the meds.

@jr102217 what fun surprised for you that's great - enjoy all the good things coming your way.  I'm almost 26 weeks and I"m still full of anxiety all the time.  Feeling the baby move does help and I'm always rubbing and scratching my belly trying to get movement when I think its been too long since I felt something.  I wake a few times a night between the hip pain and needing to pee...and I'll wait to feel something at times.  Some days are better then others with how I feel.  Hope you'll feel more confident soon.

  • @Hopeful_mom I have been taking colace and fiber since the week I got the positive betas. It has gotten better since I started chugging prune juice daily, but it's still there
  • @Irisheyes81 @cseley321 I swear a poop can make or break your day. Hope you guys find relief soon. @jr102217 glad the talking helped :) and yay for new clothes, how sweet of your mom. @Hopeful_mom  Sounds scary. Is it more than just being out of breath? I'm sure you've talked to your dr about it.
    Let's see:
im 20+2 this week - did get a little cramps today. Not sure if it's dehydration or gastrointestinal.

feeling tired as sleep is uncomfortable (hello
again insomnia) but overall feeling better.

food no longer sucks. I'm craving healthy fresh veggies now, yay.

FINALLY felt the baby move last night, it was a series of flutters then the little jerk kicked me in the cervix. So that's a milestone I will write down,  BABY's first kick: Mommy's vagina.

I have anatomy scan part 2 on Thursday! My mom is going with me, it will be her first ultrasound ever! They didn't exist when I was born. I'm more excited for her than for the scan.
  • sorry for the constipation @Irisheyes81 :( I haven't had to deal with that (FX!!) and yay for a check up!  I always feel like mine are so far apart now.

@jr102217 glad talking to the psychiatrist was helpful!  I have seen one many times over the years for various reasons and I always feel better after.  Do you know where your placenta is?  Sorry if that's already been addressed.

@cseley321 I honestly didn't feel like this baby was real or connected to him/her until I felt movement.  Even having a doppler and hearing the heartbeat all the time and seeing ultrasounds didn't make it seem real.  I think knowing what you're having helps you connect too, which we don't know.  But now that I feel the baby move, I find myself more compelled to talk to him/her too.

@TravelingCouple do you take Zantac for your heartburn?  I take it first thing in the morning with a glass of water and it really helps.  My heartburn and reflux was so bad that I was throwing up again.  You can take it twice in 24 hours so before bed too if it's bad at night.

yay for kicks @coco305!  They are the best :) I can see them now when I am laying down and it's the coolest thing ever.  And how fun your mom gets to experience that with you!!

    AFM:

Feeling tired but I think it's just from traveling.  I was in San Diego from Thursday to Sunday so it was a long busy few days for my sisters bachelorette party, but I am so glad I went.  I had some anxiety leading up to flying alone pregnant but it was totally fine.  I think the time change and being so busy has caught up to me so I've been a load today and needed pizza for dinner.

I'll be 24 weeks on Thursday, YAY FOR VIABILITY!  I also have my fetal echocardiogram tomorrow, so it's a huge milestone week for us.  I think if everything looks good tomorrow, I will feel good about registering and prepping a room, and buying a crib, car seat, etc.  I haven't been able to bring myself to get those things and so many friends that are due after me already have all that stuff.  Infertility + Loss just give you a different mind set.

  • Happy Tuesday!

@2momshoping isn't it wonderful when we get excited about staying up until 10pm?!

@irisheyes81 I hope the prune juice works to get things moving! Thankfully (knock on wood) I haven't really had to deal with that pregnancy symptom! Enjoy seeing your little one on Thursday!!!

@jr102217 I'm glad talking to the psychiatrist helped. I didn't feel pregnant until the last week or so (around 21 weeks) as my belly started really making an appearance. Hopefully in the next few weeks you will start to feel more pregnant and that will help with the anxiety too. That is awesome about the maternity clothes and your parents throwing a shower!

@cseley321 we have also started (slowly) cleaning out our second bedroom/office. I work from home on Mondays and DH is currently in grad school, so we are seriously downsizing our current desk and hopefully putting it in our living room. It sucks that we won't really have a place for guests to stay anymore once we officially turn it into the babies room so that will be interesting when my family comes to stay. Guess we will be investing in a pull-out couch! We talked about putting the crib in our bedroom for the first few months and leaving the bed in the baby room so when my parents come to visit for a few weeks after the baby's born they still have a semi-comfy place to sleep.

@coco305 those first flutters and kicks are the best! How exciting your mom gets to go with you to your anatomy scan! I bet she will be in awe how much she is able to see!

@aera11 glad the trip went well and the flying alone wasn't too bad! Congrats on reaching viability this week! That's a HUGE milestone and I'm counting down till I get there

AFM - went back to MN this past weekend to surprise my dad for his 70th bday. My parents were SHOCKED and I'm so glad we went. We also told my family we're having a little girl and my parents, especially my mom, are over the moon. My sister gave us a LOT of her baby stuff so we brought a huge suitcase of stuff home with us, my mom took me maternity clothes shopping, and her and my sister helped me start the registry. Talk about overwhelming! She was just pointing stuff out and I started scanning LOL. I don't even remember half the stuff I scanned, I'll have to go back and look. My parents also told us that they would buy the nursery furniture for us!! We also got the shower date nailed down, April 28. DH and two of my friends are planning it and it'll be co-ed so hopefully nice and casual. Planning one last girls trip the weekend before the shower too - going to NYC with two good friends for a long weekend and getting excited about that. These next few months are going to fly!

22 weeks tomorrow! Feeling little girl wiggle and kick a lot more, although I think her head is still in the same position. My next appointment will be next week with the MFM to check on her growth, the amniotic band and make sure no more issues popped up. I went swimming again last night and it felt SO good, especially after a hectic weekend and flying. Definitely going to try and make it a regular part of my week. I'll be telling my bosses this week as there is no hiding this bump anymore and I really want to start wearing cute shirts that show it off. I don't know why but I'm really nervous!

  • @2momshoping I swear we posted at exactly the same time yesterday.  J Congrats staying up later! Have you noticed the exhaustion come and go since getting in to the second trimester? Sometimes I feel ‘normal’ and other times I feel like I’m right back at week 8.

@jr102217 I don’t think it’s weird at all to not feel pregnant.  Honestly, anxiety has been my #1 pregnancy symptom.  I feel exactly the way you do all the time.  It is always a huge relief when the doctor finds that little heartbeat.  I think other people expect to hear it.  I keep reminding myself there are people that get to labor and don’t know they are even pregnant.  Also, the odds at this point are so much in both our favor.  It doesn’t make a difference though.  Infertility is such a traumatizing event.  I felt my body was such a failure for so long; it’s hard to make that switch.  Congrats on some maternity clothes and showers!!  Thanks for the constipation advice. I’m so miserable.  I have Activia and prune juice and I’m trying to snack.

@cseley321 how exciting to feel the baby move! My sister had her little girls (18 months apart) always share a room.  I don’t think you can really give up your office if you both work from home!  I hear (FTM here) that the baby will be in your room for a while at first because they are up so much.  Maybe the baby will be sleeping longer stretches by the time they share a room.

@TravelingCouple  Isn’t prune juice so gross?!  I’m so tired of constipation.  It’s amazing how the most basic tasks become such an issue while pregnant.  Heartburn is such a bummer!  Congrats on 24 weeks!!! that’s a big week I hear. We have appointments the same day.  How fun you can feel her moving around.

@hopeful_mom  99 days!!!! That is so close.  Good luck tomorrow with the glucose follow up.  I haven’t tried stool softeners because I hadn’t asked the doctor and wasn’t sure what was allowed.  It’s good to know mirilax is allowed.  I think I’m at the ‘stuck’ point…. TMI.  I wonder what your neighbor was doing.  Does it seem like it was paint or something that won’t happen again or something he/she plans to do often?  Do you live in an area where it is warm enough right now to open some windows? I’m a confrontational human so I would likely take a fruit basket down there and be like, hey buddy, welcome to the building but lay off the shellac!

@coco305 How awesome you got your appetite and want veggies.  Baby kicked mommy in the vagina. How adorable!!! That is for sure for the baby book.  That’s so fun your mom gets to come with you Thursday!!

@aera11 Congrats on viability and glad you had such a nice trip to San Diego. I bet the weather was awesome.  Nursery prep will be a lot of fun.

@mtpbadger What a fun weekend in Minnesota! How fun you got to tell your family in person about the little girl. That’s so funny about registering.  I’m sure if she has kids, you picked all the right stuff.  My husband and I want to go to NYC for a weekend in April too! A girls trip will be the best.  I bet you’re nervous to tell the boss about the baby.  I’m sure they already know something is up.  I have been wearing huge sweaters to work and even wore my coat all day one day trying to hide it. J

  • @irisheyes81 I have had terrible constipation throughout my pregnancy so far.  My doctor told me to take one Colace (stool softener) a day and was okay with me drinking a cup of black tea in the morning – that helps me go for some reason.

@cseley321 that’s so exciting that you are feeling her move.  I can’t wait to feel something.  I’m so anxious all the time that something is wrong and we don’t know it yet.

    15+1 today

Feeling good.  My next appointment is a week from today and I always get really anxious leading up to the appointments.  I can't wait to hear his heart beating again and be reassured that he's doing well.

  • I told my bosses I was pregnant about a month ago (mostly because I was spending all my time in the bathroom) but they are the only ones that know tomorrow I am telling my coworkers at the managers meeting and my direct reports at my staff meeting they both fall on the same day so it seemed like a good opportunity.  I have planned out who they will be reporting into and how their performance reviews will be handled (since I will be on leave when this happens) but I don’t really know how to tell them.  There seem to be a million articles about how to tell boss/coworkers but like nothing on how to tell your employees.  I can’t be the only pregnant lady boss out there.  Anyone else have experience in this?  I've never been on the receiving end of this type of conversation so I have no clue how it should go.

@irisheyes81 I prefer dried prunes to prune juice although in my experience neither seem to get things moving.  Let me know if you have any success.  My symptoms do come and go.  Monday was all nausea all day and I was back in bed by 8pm.  Today I woke up refreshed and normal, I keep thinking about how I wanna see if I can skip out of work early to take my dog for a long walk and spend some time at the park since the weather is decent today.  I’m just so thrilled to have some good days.  I think I was just getting desperate in the 1st trimester I felt like I had always been sick and would always be sick like it would never end.  Now I have hope!

@jr102217 glad your psychiartrist appointment went well! I think its so hard to not feel them and have to wait so long for appointments.  It’s driving me crazy too.  Hope you will be feeling your little one soon.

@cseley321 that’s a tough spot.  I couldn’t imagine not having an office if I worked at home.  Could the baby stay in your room for the first few months when the waking is really bad and then move them into your toddler’s room?  Either way sounds pretty rough.  L  Maybe house shopping :P

@hopeful_mom my advice bring baked goods, a spoon full of sugar helps the medicine goes down.  I would bring something and say welcome to the building and then say the vents in this building circulate everywhere.  I know you didn’t know but the cleaner you used was very strong smelling, I hate to impose but I’m expecting and was wondering if you would mind switching to something less toxic (it would be nice to bring a bottle of whatever) at least until the weather is better and I can open my windows to air it out.  I had a similar issue with a pot smoker in my building and he was pretty cool about it smoked on his balcony or in the bathroom I would guess in winter, but at least the smell wasn’t everywhere.  Though I also did something similar with a loud party neighbor…that did not improve.

@coco305 add that vagina kick to the baby book!  I lol’d for real!

@aera11 glad your trip was tiring but fun J Glad you are reaching your milestones so you can be more comfortable doing the fun stuff to get ready for your baby.

@mtbadger so much exciting news.  I’m so happy your family was thrilled I know seeing my family happy about the baby made me more excited.  That registry stuff is overwhelming!  We were starting to look at some things and then I ended up down a black hole for 2hours watching bottle reviews on youtube.  If I can’t decide on a small purchase like a bottle I think I may have quite the uphill battle in building a registry.  Though I have fallen in love with a ridiculously overpriced stroller I must have so I guess that's one thing I'm decided on :)

  • @2momshoping thankfully my sister gave us all of her bottles so that was an easy decision! We just have to buy new nipples. We also got a monitor (barely used), she's' shipping us her baby swing, lots of little infant toys, blankets, an angel care system (if the baby doesn't move for so many seconds an alarm sounds when sleeping), and a ton of other stuff. She also said if we get a car seat that works with their old stroller, she'd give us that so we would have two - one for each car. I have to say it was REALLY fun looking at all the little girls clothes and I may have gone crazy on headbands and bows. I and even put a tutu (or three) on there. We haven't started looking at strollers yet but I am sure I will be overwhelmed!

Anyone else constantly get hiccups? I feel like it's an everyday occurrence for me in the past two weeks and it's really annoying! Although I will I'll take the hiccups over constipation.
  • Hi ladies- lots going on the past couple days. im sitting at the lab getting my hour test done. Just got done drinking my sugar lime drink.
@2MomsHoping I also have a lot of staff. About 20-30 throughout the state but mostly manage our management staff. I told my close management staff during a lunch meeting about being pregnant. It was well received which was good. I let them know they could share the news with their direct staffers. I guess there was no true formal announcement to everyone just who it mattered to. I’m a little freaked out about taking maternity leave and having issues come up with staff but oh well I suppose.
I was plus one for constipation during about weeks 18-21 but it has since gotten better thankfully. I did milk of magnesia which tastes horrible but it worked most of the time.
We had my shower over the weekend which was nice but insomnia hit the night before so I was running off 2 hours of sleep and still feel like I haven’t caught back up. It was early to have the shower but was the only time my mom would be in town. We got some nice things and hubby was excited to go through it all afterwards.

  • @Aera11 I have been using Tums which is helping immensely! I'm trying to use it sparingly, but if the heartburn wakes me up in the middle of the night..all bets are off!

@Irisheyes81 Yes it is so gross! But I'm going on weeks of not really going properly over here so I'll do anything! Nothing is working :( I think it's just all the intestines shifting around and there's nothing I can do about that lol. Making room for baby! And thanks, I'm not sure what 24 weeks signifies really. I think viability week is 27 weeks? But it's weird, in my baby book I've been filling out for this LO, it says 24 weeks is the end of 2nd trimester...but that seems way early! My apps all say 27 weeks is the last week of 2nd tri so that's a big difference. I'm sticking around here for a few more weeks.

  • Sounds like a fun/busy weekend @mtpbadger! Hopefully your boss is excited for you :)

@laurad75 I always don't sleep well the night before appointments, well sleeping in general is rough now.  But it'll be here before you know it!

How'd your test go @Holls214? What was your favorite gift from your shower?

I use the tums smoothies between meals @TravelingCouple!  They definitely help.

everything looked perfect at our echo today!!  So relieved it's over.  The tech said the baby was 'too cute not to see' so he snapped a few 3D pics for us, it was so nice & really cool. My 3D with our ob is at 30 weeks so I'm really looking forward to that now.

@2MomsHoping I worked in a small office before my first and had about 30 staff and 50 contractors that reported to me. TBH I didn't make a big deal. I told the owners very early on so that they could be aware and start making arrangements. Later on I made the decision to quit and be a SAHM, and once again notified the owners of my plans, I basically gave them 3 months notice. As for the employees under me, I started training the ones who would take over my duties when I put in my 3 month notice.  I told them one on one why I was leaving. Everyone else just figured it out as I started showing.

With that being said, I don't know what the environment is like in your office, but I would only tell those it directly impacts on a day to day level, everyone else will figure it out
  • @Aera11 The test went well. I should get results in the coming days. The drink wasn't too bad. At least it was only the 1 hour one. Fingers crossed for a good outcome. My favorite gift was a diaper bag from my Step-Mom. It was the one I picked out. It is super cute. Also, some of the outfits were adorable as well. You got 3D pics? How exciting! So glad everything went well with your US. :)
I am plus one for tums lately. Around or after dinner time they have been a must the past week or so. Heartburn stinks. Did someone say you can take Zantac?

@holls214 I can't imagine doing a 3 hour one  :D my ob gives you a choice of a drink or twenty jelly beans.  Fun! That's so exciting getting little outfits. Which diaper bag did you register for?  I'm finally starting to research things!
Yes, it was such a fun surprise getting the 3D ones today.
I take Zantac...you can take it twice in 24 hours.  I usually take it in the am before breakfast with a glass of water and just let tums tide me over.  If it's bad I'll take the second
  • @Aera11 yeah 3 hours would be a lot... hopefully the results are good and that won’t happen! The lime drink actually wasn’t that bad or maybe I had mentally prepared for something disgusting lol.
I think the diaper bag was from Target. It’s black and cream colors. Looks like an oversized purse. Can’t wait for 3D. How fun and I’m sure a different perspective.
Oh yay on Zantac. I’ll probablh switch to that. I didn’t know if it was safe or not. Always worked pretty well before pregnancy.

  • Hopefully my bump pic uploads (and isn’t too big!). 22 weeks today!!
  • I'm 25w 5d today, and can't believe that the third trimester is only 10 days away  :D
How am I  feeling this week... Mostly just trying to get back into work after a week of vacation - 5 days in Florida with in-laws, and then 4 days home relaxing. My legs and hands started to swell a lot 2 weeks ago, but it doesn't get as bad anymore after I upped my daily protein. Lots of just general discomfort in the hips and legs, and back pain if I stand for too long. Luckily, I never got any issues with constipation, but I do eat lots of fruit and veggies, and very little bread/pasta (gluten sensitivity). Unfortunately, I do get the heartburn, and often wake up at night with my throat burning and having to elevate my head. Nose is seriously congested, and DH ordered hard-core earplugs trying to block my night-time snoring  :#
The bump is finally starting to show in the last 2-ish weeks, but still nothing major, totally easy to hide. I also haven't really gained any weight so far. My dr isn't worried, since the baby seems to be progressing just fine. She says that I have enough space in my torso, so my baby is more of a football, sitting vertically inside my torso, vs a beach-ball, that would be hanging out.  :D The baby is also pretty active, so it's nice to get this constant re-assurance that he's ok.
I had a regular check-up meeting this week (my dr keeps telling me how easy of a patient I am :D ), and I failed my 1-hour glucose test (I blame eating big amounts of Tiramisu for 3 days straight prior to test  :# ). So now I have to schedule the 3-hour test.. grrr.. I don't do well with blood draws, but I'll do what I have to do for this baby. Still hoping that the 3-hour tests comes back negative - I don't have any of the risk factors.

  • Hi everyone - I'm moving over from the first trimester thread as of today. I'm 14 weeks with a baby girl and excited to see what this trimester has in store. Looking forward to perusing (...stalking?) the previous few check-in weeks.  :)
  • @sarcasticowl welcome! Congratulations on the girl... how exciting!
  • Welcome @sarcasticowl!

have any of you felt any vaginal pressure on the outside of your vag? Or swelling? I noticed that today and it's not pressure or uncomfortable but it's like outer swelling
  • @mtbadger that is an awesome haul of baby stuff!  Also a little girl can never have to many headbands, bows, or tutus.

@holls214,@csely312 thanks for the advice on the spilling the beans to direct reports.  I don’t know why I was so wound up about it.  I guess I know they don’t like my boss who would be taking over in the interim especially since I would be gone during review time but they were all over the moon for me I keep getting giddy smiles and have been informed that the big conference room has already been booked for the shower.  Normally I really do hate such attention but I’m just so touched that they are so excited and supportive of me.  I really do have a phenomenal team.

@aera11 so glad everything looked great on your echo.  I don’t think I’ll have the opportunity to do a 3D scan but I think it’s just so cool to be able to see that level of detail.  You can really tell what the baby looks like!

@sarcasticowl good to see you again welcome to the 2nd trimester :)

  • @sarcasticowl welcome to the 2nd tri!!

@2momshoping glad telling your direct reports went well! I ended up not having to go into our main office this week but might next Thursday so will wait to tell my supervisors then if I have to go in. Otherwise it looks like I'll be trying to schedule a telephone conference, which is so difficult with my supervisors. I'm debating if I need to tell all of them or just my direct supervisor (we have a direct supervisor for outbase staff; a supervisor for inhouse staff and then an officer over the entire office).
  • Welcome @sarcasticowl :) Congrats on the little girl.
@2MomsHoping so glad telling everyone went well. And hooray for a baby shower. That is exciting. One of my staff is also pregnant and is due 4 weeks after me. I want to throw her a little shower, but don't want people to think that I need anything. She doesn't have much support or money, so I thought it might be nice. I bought her a doppler early on since she didn't have health insurance and the wait between appointments was a lot.
@Aera11 I have definitely felt pressure a couple times and even called my doctor about it once, but then it went away. They said if it stuck around to come in and get checked out if needed. Hopefully it will just subside.

  • Welcome @sarcasticowl !!!!
@Aera11 no pressure on the outside, but I do feel pressure from my cervix, almost like something is coming out, which of course freaks me out. But my cervix is not prolapsed and it's nice and long. Just a weird sensation.

@2MomsHoping  so glad it went well! It's crazy how people are just genuinely excited for you, I never expected it either. Let them shower you with love!
@Holls214 I love that you are doing that for your co-worker. That's super sweet.
@fuzzydust ugh sorry you failed the 1 hour. Hopefully the 3-hour flies by. Blood draws suck, but you can do it!

I had my 2nd anatomy scan today. Bebe has grown so much, and is measuring a full
week ahead and is estimated to be 1lb 3oz! But of course today, it was fast asleep and not in the mood to put on a show, so I have to go back in two weeks to finish measurements- I can't get annoyed by that!
  • Welcome @sarcasticowl! yay 2nd tri woohoo!!  And a princess so happy for you!!

@holls214 - you're the best thats so very nice of you, i'm sure she must use the doppler all the time.  Funny I thought the drink was gonna be gross too so i was pleasantly surprised that it really went down pretty easy - like orange soda really!  I did drink a few sips of water afterward not knowing that I wasn't suppose to...but they still think I should be ok.  They said my results would be in today in the am..but still waiting.

@2MomsHoping so glad everything went well telling work and now a shower too - thats awesome!!

@irisheyes81 @2momshoping Thanks so much for the advice - I will say I have a bigger mouth as I have gotten older and for this lil one I'm happy to speak my mind!  I'm more in a private house with apt why I think everything travels so easy.  Apparently the horrendous odor was from diesel fuel which didn't excite me any at all and glad I took precaution and wore the mask all night.  They put the clothing that was covered in it in the hallway...not the brightest idea to say the least.  They are very nice and are only here temporary with their own unfortunate circumstances so I wasn't too angry BUT did let them know I am expecting and how sensitive I am to everything.  So hopefully that will take care of it.  They smoke and now move farther away from the house so I'm hoping all will be ok now!!  (And the guy works in sanitation and can't smell so didn't even realize how flammable smelling he was.  SERIOUSLY the hallway after fabreezing the hell out of it first is starting to smell normal.  I'm in NY and did freeze myself out as wel@MTPeterson

@irisheyes81 I know CONSTIPATION is a big conversation over here AND  I took some mirilax the other day and I have to say that actually helped give a lil movement.  I'm still taking colace but adding in the mirilax too.

@mtpbadger happy birthday dad - glad you had such a great visit home!!  Your bump is super cute so I can see why a swimsuit is no biggie for you!  Glad you can get some swimming in...I'm happy I can get around the block a few times!  Glad you're having fun with all the girl clothing, girls can never have enough head bands!!  And I have hiccups but i feel like its from the indigestion.

@coco305 yay for kicks!!  Glad i'm not the only one, the kick to the vag feel so strange!!  I keep saying you dont belong down there right now
:D  Certainly a fun memory to share down the road!

@aera11 happy 24 yay viability week woohoo!!!  Enjoy the pizza I had pizza last night too :)  How did you get 3D US pics, i'm so jealous and excited of coarse for you :)  My place has the machine but only does it if theres  problem...I need to see how much it really costs for it!  Are you taking your glucose at the next appt?  Jelly beans, thats a new one for me.  AND yes to the vag swelling - mines been swollen for a while.  OB let me know everything in ur body can swell fantastic ;)

@travelingcouple in the beginning I was using tums and tried to use it sparingly but it is calcium and has been ok to take since day one.  I now carry them with me.  I just always need them for any relief!  I also sleep a bit elevated...other my nausea creeps back in on top of the indigestion.
I was also confused about viability week as I thought it was 27 as well...however its week 24!  And third trimester is week 27/28 depending on your app ;)  Even on the boards here they do week 28.  I said the samething when I hit week 24 I almost thought to good to be true to be at this point :)

@fuzzydust hey lady welcome back glad you had a fun vacay!  Amazing how this text works and its really on your body not anything else.

AFM! Officially 26 weeks woohoo!!!  So I took the glucose test and i was really pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to get the drink down, I was prepared for it tasting so gross.  The best part was it really woke the baby up so I wonder how much sugar is really in this thing.  My office is good and they give it to you prior so you take it on the way in and dont have to sit there for the hour...BUT I did take some water after which I wasn't suppose to do....that wouldve been good for them to remind me when confirming my appt.  Luckly since they said it was only a few sips it should be fine.  I've been catching up for a while and just got the call, I passed woohoo!!  I'm normal and dont need the 3hr test.  Can I tell you how relieved I am!  I was pretty stressed just cause i'm heavier I assume the worse is coming...bring on the donuts...just kidding ;)

  • @Hopeful_mom I passed as well. :) 86 was the number I guess, I googled to see if that was good. Mine said water was okay. The babes really did start moving around like crazy after drinking it. Must be a lot of sugar. I told my husband after passing that I was surprised because I have legit been a cookie monster and eat something sweet every day haha. Now we send cookie monster memes to each other. YAY for 26 weeks! We are so close to the 3rd. :)
@coco305 so happy you got to see the baby today. Measuring ahead is awesome. At least you get to go back and see baby again before too much longer. It is crazy how much they have grown.

  • @Holls214 I did cave and call my OB; I felt pressure a few days ago but it went away, but today it was stronger and I could feel the puffiness with my fingers.  Luckily she said it's probably extra blood in the area and varicose veins could even show up (grrrrreat).  I am just going to take it easy and drink lots of water.  I have a check up next Thursday anyways so I figure if it's still going on then they can check it out.  And yay for passing your test!  I am nervous for mine.

@coco305 yeah my pressure is definitely on the outside but it sounds like it isn't anything to worry about fortunately.  So glad you got to see baby today!  It's always the best feeling :)

@Hopeful_mom woohoo, so glad you passed!  I have no idea when mine is...I have a check up next Thursday so I am guessing it'll be at the next one, so around 28-29 weeks?  I actually haven't been able to eat much pizza this pregnancy because the tomato sauce is too acidic for me but it sounded so good.  Is your vag pressure on the outside too?  The 3D was amazing!  We got to see baby yawn, move his/her hands by their face.  We didn't get full body pics but we could clearly see the face and they printed some.  It was during my echo and the tech was super nice and offered to switch it on (after saying we'd only be seeing the heart), so it was a really sweet gesture we appreciated.  My OB offers 3D at 30 weeks for a small fee, I can't remember how much but we'll definitely do it.

Thanks for the input everyone!  Sounds like pressure is normal and that is the only symptom so I'll just take it easy and hydrate.  It's crazy how I can see baby move now when I am laying down!
  • @Aera11 Omg I have a Gucci soho disco too! But in nubuck and taupe.
