Trying to Get Pregnant

TWW Weekend 2/24-2/25

**This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. So tired.  Went to bed at 10 and woke up at 7:40 (to my alarm) and I felt like I could have slept a few more hours.  If I hadn't just had my thyroid checked I might think there was something wrong with me.  On a good note, last day of weekend work for a few months!

    CS/Q:
    nope

GTKY: What job would you be terrible at?
Any kind of management.  I'm not very assertive and I don't like to be in charge, especially when shit goes wrong.

    Cycle Day/DPO: 25/9 or 10

    Timing: Good

    Typical LP length: Don’t know

    Testing: Monday

R/R: DH and I have our date night tonight! We’re going to go see Black Panther and go out for a fancy dinner. I’m so excited!

CS/Q: No spotting this morning. *knock on all the wood* - Temps are still up. I’m very busy symptom spotting now.

GTKY: What job would you be terrible at? Oh gosh, a lot of things, lol. Anything dealing with customer complaints.
  • Ugh, spoke too soon about the spotting.
  • @wrensnest I hope the spotting goes away and that your temps stay nice and high. Fx!

    Month/Cycle: 3rd IUI

    Cycle Day/DPO: 28/12

    Timing: Good

Typical LP length: 14, 16 for last two IUIs

Testing: wfaf or blood beta which I think is Tuesday; whichever comes first

R/R: Still putting progesterone up my vagina. God it's uncomfortable. I feel so bad because MH seems to want to HIO but I don't feel like it while doing this. I do not feel sexy at all. Still no usual pre af symptoms. It's weird. I used to have what seemed like every symptom in the book previous tries over the years. There were even cycles where I got some new symptom I never had before and was sure I was KU. I'm trying so hard not to obsess on the not having any symptoms at all.

    CS/Q: No

GTKY: What job would you be terrible at? I'd be a terrible pharmaceutical rep. No explanation needed.

@catlady2015  I thought I was the only person who bathed my cat
  • @wrensnest How was Black Panther? I've heard only good things about it so far!
@suzycupcake My goodness. I don't understand all that you are going through with ttc, but that progesterone up your vagina definitely doesn't sound fun. I can understand the unsexy part about that. How icky!
@catlady2015 I've never bathed either of my cats, and it scares me to ever want to try haha. It would NOT end well for any of us. Haha!
@jrm_14 My 30th was the 22nd, so it was a birthday gift. I reeeaally like it too. Haha!

@Whitmore1027 I'm glad you're having a nice time with your family.  FX for a BFP tomorrow!

@wrensnest sorry about the spotting :(  I hope you enjoyed your date night.

@suzycupcake I don't blame you for not wanting to HIO with progesterone suppositories.  I hope you get good news on Tuesday!

@catlady2015 sorry about the crappy timing :(

@sassyduck0415 I never make it past 9 DPO without POAS so waiting until day 12 is pretty good if you ask me!

  • @jrm_14 @Whitmore1027 - We usually use a waterless bath you rub in and then brush out. helps get extra fur/dander out. We save the dunkings for when someone gets into something (like when my calico decided to go swimming in the toilet - we close the lid now :p ).

  • @catlady2015 OMG cat in the toilet?? That's funny! I can see why that would be a good idea to bathe. I've never done the waterless either. That's a good idea to help the shedding and dander down! I use a furminator, which works wonders! My aunt shave her 3 cats, which I'm not a fan of, but apparently it really helps with shedding!

We always had cats that were like dogs when it came to the water. They didn’t mind it but maybe because we started them when they were young. I did have this one cat though that I rescued who was feral. He didn’t like the water but I discovered that if I put him in the shower with me, he did fine because he could move away from the water when he wanted to.

My current dog is the same. She likes water but cannot sit still in the bathtub. I put her in the shower with me one time and noticed she liked to sit by my leg and let the warm water run on her. We make it a habit now lol who else showers with their fur baby?

  • @Whitmore1027 I hate getting expensive stuff too. I would never buy it for myself so it feels weird to get it as a gift. Mh has a tendency to think expensive=good, so he spends too much on gifts sometimes. Good luck in your interview tomorrow!

@wrensnest Sorry about continued spotting :/

@suzycupcake Progesterone up the vag sounds....uncomfortable. I can only imagine it might be like putting those yeast infection suppositories up your vag, and I cannot blame you for not wanting to hio during that.

@rosebud332 That's exactly what it's like only it's a pill. I think it might be bigger than the biggest vitamin. It feels gross putting anything up there because nothing should be going in there, aside from MH :D , to disrupt the delicate balance, imo.

    It's this big

Also, sorry you got a bfn. And your reasoning for being terrible at being a sales rep is exactly why I wouldn't make a good pharmaceutical rep. I'd start by telling them pills up the vagina is ridiculous as well as I'd explain to the men who make decisions about womens' reproductive health, that fertility should be a right, not a privilege. That last bit wasn't related, but these damn pills cost me $270. Even though Kaiser covers half of fertility, they didn't even cover these things at all. I got an entire 30 day supply even though I don't need it. This is so I will have them on hand for next cycle when we go to another clinic because I've resigned from my current position.

  • @suzycupcake All I can say to the size of that pull is holy wow. Like you said...H only please!! Haha. And you're right about the cost of all this stuff. I wish more insurance covered it and thought of it as a necessity. And if more women were in charge, it might be a different story. My sil is going through ivf and I'm just astounded at how much it is costing them for one round, just to try to have a baby.

  • Hey guys--sorry I was absent all weekend. DH got a new job offer on Friday afternoon, so we went exploring the area this weekend and I don't have data (LOL!) like I'm 15. So, I am catching up this morning...

@Whitmore1027 take the MK girl....always take the MK :) HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
@suzycupcake yeah...I would imagine I would not want to HIO with that up there either. I had to do the syringe of stuff for a yeast infection once and that was the most disgusting feeling in the world so I can only imagine. You're a boss!
@wrensnest hopefully the spotting is nothing. Positive vibes your way! Hopefully your testing went well.

  • @wrensnest - I haven't been seen for it. I wasn't paying super close attention before my last gyn appt, so I didn't know it was a thing to mention. It started after I went off BC, but I've been off for over a year at this point and i consistently have 2-3 days of spotting before AF. We moved to a new town in October and I haven't picked a doc yet. :( I suspect low progesterone levels but I need testing to be sure.
