EIF on Anatomy Scan

so I just had the follow up appointment with my doc and she told me that baby has an EIF on his left ventricle. But no other anomalies were found and there was nothing to worry about. She didn’t schedule me for any follow ups and said it happens in a lot of normal pregnancies. Which ok but still freaking out because it could be an indicator of aneuploidy. She reassured me everything else was normal and gave me the report.
Mom the report is says No evidence of a congenital anomaly. And then goes on to say Maternal body habitus precludes optimal detection of cogenital anomalies. So they say they can’t see anything else but my fat body make it difficult? Are they contradicting themselves?
Anyone else have this EIF show up?
I feel panicky.

Re: EIF on Anatomy Scan

  • Sorry you are going through this. To be honesf I am not sure what an EIF is have you contacted your OB to interpret the report? sometimes they can help clarify

  • Did you also get any blood work in the first trimester? Also, I would talk to your OB more about what it means. I'm sure if it's something that requires surgery on baby sometime after birth they'd want you to start preparing right?

  • Hmm I’m not familiar with EIF, but from what I read online it’s considered benign unless there are other risk factors and it usually disappears by the 3rd trimester. Maybe they could schedule another u/s in a couple months to alleviate your worries? Either way, I’d definitely ask your doctor for some clarification.
