I have my 12 week appointment which includes the 1st Trimester Screen tomorrow. The screen includes ultrasound and blood test for Trisomy 21/18, fetal cardiac defects.
12 week appointment this morning. Pray for me because I’m bringing my 21 mo old with me because I can’t avoid nosy ass questions from my mom if I ask if she can watch her. Probably won’t be anything spectacular, just hearing heartbeat with Doppler and questions if anything is going on.
I have the Harmony draw Wednesday morning but it’s just a lab only appointment for the blood letting. Last time we got the results in five days (three business days) even though they say ten days. Hoping the turn around is as fast this time!
@spottedginger I'm doing the Harmony test tomorrow. Also hoping for quick turnaround.

I have the harmony test on Wednesday.... at my 9.5 week appointment the US tech made a comment about the baby's neck, but my Dr said she shouldn't have been looking bc it was too soon... but the fact that she said something is hard to forget. Needless to say my stomach is in knots.... as if it weren't anyway!
I go in for a follow up ultrasound this afternoon. At my first appt, the heart was just starting up and not strong enough to measure yet. So, I'm a little nervous about today but most likely all is good.
DH is also getting blood drawn to check his CF carrier status. So, we should also get the results back for that this week.
Appointment today to check in on my bp, it was a little high at my first appointment. Also the perfect time to check with my OB about the excessive nausea and vomiting that has come on in the last 4 days.
I have an appt. with the OB this week. I already had my NT scan last week so this appt. will likely be getting the results of the NIPT test (although mine won’t show the sex) and an u/s with the Doppler. I haven’t actually heard the heartbeat yet (just saw it) so I am excited for that.
I have my 12 week appt this Friday. I had the NIPT blood tests two weeks ago so I will be getting those results, and also finding out the sex (if I decide to!). I’m honestly a little nervous about all the tests results but I know there’s no sense in worrying right now.
@smsaulino Harmony is one of the branded cell-free DNA tests, also known as non-invasive prenatal tests (NIPT). It tests the baby’s dna within the mother’s blood for common trisomies and sex chromosome issues. The harmony tests three common trisomies but other tests have may test for more or fewer.
Just an appointment for a blood draw on Wednesday for the 1st tri screening. I also have a phone appt. later that day to go over medical history with a nurse. NT scan 2 weeks from Wednesday and I'm SO excited for that one.

Surprise ultrasound ❤️ #3 is growing like a weed. Get to finish out my progesterone pills for 2 weeks and my next 16 week appt I get to start taking weekly progesterone shots.
I have my NT scan on Thursday morning and my regular 12 week appointment that afternoon. Excited to see the little monkey again but a tiny bit anxious because, ya know, it's a scan to check for potential problems. I think MH will be a lot more comfortable after seeing that LO is still doing OK in there, though - he's a "realist" (aka pessimist) and combining that with a multiple loss history and known genetic issues means that he has a tough time accepting that any pregnancy is going to continue. If all goes well, we'll probably announce on social media next week during a family trip or once we get back.

Dr just called to give me my test results, and said “Do you want to know the sex?” And I said “No!! Not yet!” but now I’m going crazy and so is DH. Dr office is two minutes down the road so I’m going to go in and get the envelope after lunch.
@ashh2018 I am team open it!! With DH beside you of course! You could also still take it somewhere and have a cupcake or something made so you can both dig in and find out that way.
Well my appointment went fine today, didn’t do an us or doppler. Just went through initial blood results and she said everything looks great. She said it was still too early for the doppler (8+2) but we would do it next time. She gave me Zofran to help with the vomiting.
I love my ob and she she has been with me for the more than year that it took us to conceive, but I don’t love her staff or a lot of the other patients. She also only delivers at one hospital and since becoming pregnant I have found a much better hospital the same distance from us that she doesn’t deliver at. Seriously considering changing providers.
@klj0228. I say it's a perfectly good reason to switch and no time like the present! I needed a new Ob in the area anyway, and I actually picked the hospital first, and then made sure she had privledges ;)
*seriously, aurocorrect. Why must I retype literally everything, even though I spelled it correctly in the first place??? You think I might know what I wanted today better than you??? Ughhh
@BusinessWife DH was the one who convinced me to open it! Haha. Now he’s telling me “we have to start looking on Pinterest for ways to announce it!” Uh, babe, I’ve been doing that for months lol
@klj0228 I totally agree with BusinessWife. This is probably the best time to switch. I may end up switching myself depending on my next few appointments go, but you deserve to be comfortable with the staff as well as the doctor. Also, fingers crossed the zofran helps and this increased nausea is short lived!

My second appointment is Thursday (12w1d.) At my first appointment they gave me an outline of all the appointments and the tests and procedures involved in each. I was confused when I didn't see the NT scan mentioned anywhere so I called and they said they don't do them anymore since they offer the branded NIPTs. I told them I wasn't sure in my insurance would cover these tests (about $300 each) but I know the NT screen is covered. The nurse was all, "You have BCBS? I'm pretty sure they cover all but $90." I just said I would like to call my insurance first and check. Sure enough - those tests are considered investigative and not covered at all; NT scan is covered as long as it's done along with bloodwork to look for maternal serum markers. I think that's crap that they don't even mention that NT is an option anymore. If I was a FTM I would've had no clue. So I called back and they acted all put out. "Well there's only one ultrasound tech who does the NT scan and she's at the other location so we'll have to change your appointment and you'll have to go all the way over there." Umm ok, will it cost me more that $300 in gas?? Oy vey. Whatever, getting it all done Thursday which means another US which I'm really happy about because I have some anxiety and am not really letting myself bond too much with baby yet. We will also be opting for an elective US at 14 weeks to find out the gender! Is it odd that they didn't draw blood or even collect a urine sample from me at all yet? Thought that was a little weird.
@Car0liiine it's so weird to me how different doctors do things differently. I'm AMA so the NIPT is totally covered, and I did just that and no NT scan last time. At this practice they keep bringing up the NT scan and I keep asking if I really need it if I'm doing the Panorama test. *Shrugs* My insurance covers all the things, especially because of my age, so I don't really care, but I do find it strange that there doesn't seem to be one set standard practice.
Eta: for me, yes it seems weird they haven't done blood work or urine tests yet. I'm 8 weeks and have already given blood 3 or 4 times and urine every time I've been in. I think only one of the blood draws was considered standard though and the rest was cause I had specific issues that needed addressing.
@stothi IMHO, there's no need to do the NT if you're doing the Panorama. I'm pretty sure the results are more reliable than the NT. We just decided that we wouldn't do any extra out of pocket, investigative testing unless there was cause for concern after the NT. Also, I really, really want that extra ultrasound this time!
@Car0liiine tomorrow at my 12 week appointment is my first blood draw. I/the staff forgot to give/remind them/me the urine sample at my 8 weeker. I called the office a few days after the appointment and left a message for them if they'd prefer me to come in at anytime for the urine sample and they didn't contacted me back. I may be looking into a new OB but not for sure yet. I've been seeing this doc as my GYN for three years and the staff was amazing to me during that time. Now, the med assistant doesn't call back when I leave messages and the receptionist is super rude when I call with appointment questions. I plan on letting the OB know tomorrow how I've been treated and if the med assistant isn't supposed to return calls to expecting moms, I'll be hightailing it out of there so quick. I'm still in the early stages and the calls have been minimal but I'm sure I'll need to call them about more serious stuff as I go on. My NIPT is 250 out of pocket and DH was only wanting it to find sex early, which I don't want to know. I have other tests coming up that are supposed to catch the defects and are completely covered.
@smsaulino Definitely let your doctor know about your dissatisfying experiences with the staff, he probably has no clue and would gladly make some changes or at least reprimand them to avoid losing patients.
My 12 week appointment is today! We have a US which I am SO excited about! This is the second part of the ultrascreen process (blood was at 10 weeks) and we did an NIPT (MaterniT21+). We should be getting the results of that test today, which means we will know the sex! With DS, DH wanted to find out and I didn’t, but I gave in because Mother’s Day was right after our appointment and my mom, sister, grandma, and ILs were all having brunch with us. We all opened it together at 20 weeks. I had to hide the envelope from DH for the 3 days between the US and the brunch!
This time we both want to know and every time my phone makes a noise I’m hoping it’s the results (obviously we also want the trisomy results which are just as/more important). Hopefully they have them at the appointment today!
I have my 11+2 appointment today, and I forgot to collect FMU! All I had were my fiber gummies, and then I managed to get a sample, maybe 20 min later then the first sample would have been, so hopefully it's okay! :# we had company, so I had to put all that type of stuff away, and it completely slipped my mind... whoops! *typo
