PGAL Check-In Week of 2/15

This is still just copied from September, so let me know if we need to do different questions or additional ones.

This is a check in for those of us who are experiencing pregnancy after a loss (miscarriage, chemical pregnancy, stillbirth, child loss, to name a few). Hopefully we can all lend support to each other through the hormone filled craziness that is pregnancy!

Just a reminder: there is a general loss trigger warning on this entire thread.

1. How far along are you? Any milestones?

2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)?

3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)?

4. Any appointment updates? When is your next appointment?

5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here):

6. GTKY: What is your favorite children's' movie?

Re: PGAL Check-In Week of 2/15

  • 1. How far along are you? Any milestones? 5w5d, but we'll see in a little over a week at my u/s. That will be my milestone actually.

    2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)? I was getting really nervous because my nausea wasn't as bad.  Well it's come back tenfold, but I'm also not sure if that's from the tamiflu.

    3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)? Okish. Seems like my anxiety level changes by the minute

    4. Any appointment updates? When is your next appointment? Feb 27th

    5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): the flu has taken over my life and I thought that I had it. Nope, just had a weird cold with a mild ish fever. So now I'm doing everything in my power not to get sick, but I'm scared. MH also been on vacation the past 2 weeks so he was able to help, well tomorrow he goes back to work. With the morning sickness and if I get the flu I just don't know how I'll survive taking care of 2 kids by myself.

    6. GTKY: What is your favorite children's' movie? This is hard. Probably the little mermaid or Aladdin

    2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)? Not having a lot right now

    3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)? Super anxious! I have my ultrasound in one hour!

    4. Any appointment updates? When is your next appointment? Today is my ultrasound

  • 1. How far along are you? Any milestones? Somewhere between 5 and 6 weeks I think.

    2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)? I had pretty decent nausea all day yesterday. Today I just have some acid reflux with some small waves of nausea. I have this awful cold and I just don't know what is pregnancy-related and what is cold-related. And I haven't been sleeping well at all so I'm just exhausted all the time.

    3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)? Better. I had a second blood draw today so I will find out tomorrow if my levels are rising correctly. I'm pretty sure they are rising, I'm just worried that they aren't rising quickly enough. I was up pretty late last night because I couldn't calm down enough to sleep.

    4. Any appointment updates? When is your next appointment? Tomorrow! I still haven't made a decision on if I want to do an US tomorrow or not. The tech at my office doesn't work on Fridays so I would have to go somewhere else to get it done. I might just wait until Monday unless the OB really wants me to get it done sooner. Although it would be nice to not have to stress about it all weekend.

    5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): All the anxiety. Praise the Lord that February is halfway over. DH and I are just hoping we can survive this month. Our last miscarriage happened at 8 weeks, so if we can get past the 8 weeks this time I will be so relieved.

    6. GTKY: What is your favorite children's' movie? I actually think Trolls is pretty funny. DD loves that movie and I don't mind watching it. Moana is great too, but we have watched it way too many times now.

  • 1. How far along are you? Any milestones? 4w5d according to my RE, but I think I’m really 5w today.

    2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)? Still feeling pretty normal overall, just tired all the time. I also have been getting a little extra gassy, so that’s fun.

    3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)? A little better this week.  I was really anxious last week when I was waiting to have my betas drawn, but I’m actually feeling a little calmer this week. I still don’t want to let myself get too excited, but I’m trying to enjoy it a little more each day.  Also I POAS yesterday because I have a whole bunch left, and it was super dark really quickly, so I’m taking that as a good sign.

    4. Any appointment updates? When is your next appointment?  First ultrasound and appt on March 1!  These two weeks need to go by quickly!!

    5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here):  nothing too much new here, it’s been just a boring normal week.  Work is a little slow for me right now so it feels like the days are dragging on.  Can’t wait for the weekend.

    6. GTKY: What is your favorite children's' movie?  I was always a big fan of Cinderella and beauty and the beast.

@hellopartyof5 hope you don’t get the flu and start feeling better soon!

@keiragann GL at your ultrasound today! Keep us posted!!

@acciocoffee if your numbers are looking good from today and are rising appropriately, I’d probably wait for the ultrasound if it were me. Hopefully you get good results tomorrow!!

  • @pumpkinpancake That's what DH wants to do. I'll be about 6 weeks tomorrow so it would just be a blob at that point anyways. Plus with my stupid tilted uterus it will be hard for them to find anything at all.
  • 1. How far along are you? Any milestones?  6w6d, we saw a heart beat of 118!

    2. How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)? nausea on and off, indigestion and heartburn when I'm not nauseous, exhausted, moody, sore nipples, random boob aches and pains, bloated, have to pee every 10 mins

    3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)?  Today I've been full of worry.  I had a positive doctor's appointment and ultra sound but I'm worried cause they said babe was measuring about 5 days behind.  I know its still so early to tell but I'm paranoid.  Neither the tech or the doctor seem worried, the doctor even told me everything looked great and we're over the first hurdle.  I need to just relax.

    4. Any appointment updates? When is your next appointment? See above  :)

    5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): Nothing, but I'm having the worst time trying to focus at work

    6. GTKY: What is your favorite children's' movie?  ooooh, maybe the Little Mermaid from my childhood, More currently DD always wants to watch Boss Baby and I like that one a ton.  It makes me cry.

  • @keiragann Good luck!
@hellopartyof5 I hope you feel better!
@acciocoffee FX on your blood draw and that your numbers look good!
  • Ultrasound showed a gestational sac and a possibile yolk sac but no fetal pole or fetus. I had blood work drawn and will have another ulatrasoubd next week. By my LMP I’m 6 weeks 2 days, by the ultrasound in 5 weeks 4 days so I’m super nervous. Please send positive vibes my way!

  • @keiragann I don't know how closely you were tracking your cycle, but based off my LMP I should be due Oct 7, but because of late ovulation I think I will be due Oct 13 or possibly even later. So it's very possible to just be off on dates. Sending all the positive vibes your way!
  • @keiragann Sending you all the positive vibes and hoping it’s just that the dates were off!
  • I was pretty on top of it because of my clotting disorder. They wanted to put me on pregnancy safe meds. My HGC came back in the 6000 Range so it’s not Low, so maybe I’m just off. Crossing all the fingers @acciocoffee

  • @keiragann fx that your dates are just off! Like @acciocoffee by my LMP I would be about 6.5 weeks by now but I know from tracking ovulation that I ovulated late and am actually only 5 weeks (or 4w5d by my RE guess). With hcg of 6000 that sounds good, so hopefully you’ll see more next week! That’s why early ultrasounds always end up just giving me more stress!

Sending positive vibes! As anxious as I am to get an ultrasound, my husband and I are waiting until 8 weeks to get it. I totally empathize. I've been there x4. Keeping FX! Hopefully it's just too early. Keep us updated.
  • keiragann sending you all the positive vibes and fingers crossed for a great ultrasound next week.

  • How far along are you? Any milestones?

    5 weeks today <3

How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)? Tired all the time but that's probably got more to do with the fact that I've been working my butt off and staying up late to do it than my little lavender bud.

I don't remember having morning sickness this early with DD but boy do I have it now. When I first wake up in the morning, I can't get out of bed because it's so bad and it comes and goes all day. I've also been burping sooo much. Attractive lol. And my boobs are killing me.

How are you feeling (anxiety wise)? I'm actually so busy that I don't have time to think much about my pregnancy, that includes worrying.

What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here): Just working, working, working. Trying to make a certain amount of money in a short amount of time to pay for DD's Spanish Immersion summer camp.

GTKY: What is your favorite children's' movie? Arthur Christmas, hands down.

  • @keiragann it’s so tough and I’m so sorry. Your numbers do look good and I have everything crossed for you! There’s so much waiting and anxiety—it really, really sucks.
  • How far along are you? Any milestones?

    7 weeks tomorrow

How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)?

Exhausted and I wake up in the middle of the night and can’t go back to sleep which isn’t helping. I’m nauseous on and off most of the day (I’ve never thrown up with any pregnancy) but I only got nauseous after 11am with DD. My boobs are filling back in and are more tender and the bloat is insane at night!

How are you feeling (anxiety wise)?

I’ve been super busy at work and with the toddler (and husband out of town) so this week has gone by fast and I’ve mostly been ok

What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here.)

I feel like a terrible mom a lot of the time. DD just wants to run around on the driveway and stomp snow after work/school and I just want to go inside and sit. I’ve been forcing her inside after 10 minutes and it makes her genuinely sad.

GTKY: What is your favorite children's' movie?

Up. So much ugly crying at the beginning though.

    1. How far along are you? Any milestones?

    5w +2

2.How are you feeling (pregnancy symptoms)?

The nausea is real. So is the fatigue. Some days I feel normal and others not so much. I have less cramping and more pulling/stretching feelings though.

    3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)?

Better today. I had a CP at 5w +1 and had a little bit of bleeding yesterday that I think was due to some skin irritation. It stopped quickly and I’ve been fine last night and today. But it did freak me out at first. Now that I’m over the CP “milestone” I’m feeling better.

    4. Any appointment updates? When is your next appointment?

I’m waiting for blood work results from my confirmation appt this week. Dating ultrasound on March 1 at 7 weeks!

    5. What's been happening in your life this week? Rants/raves/whatever (Dear diary posts and venting are welcome and encouraged here):

The rest of my life is pretty average! I’m doing a ton of sewing and stuff to distract myself from how slowly the time seems to be passing! We aren’t planning to share our news until Easter (11 weeks) and it feels so far away!

    6. GTKY: What is your favorite children's' movie?!

I’m a huge Disney/Pixar fan! My childhood fave was Beauty and the Beast!

Edited because the app ate half my post

  • So I had asked the nurse at my doctor’s office this morning if I could get another beta hcg draw today because when they drew the first two last week, they were still pretty low (even though they doubled). Two weeks till my ultrasound just seemed like a long time to wait doing nothing, and PGAL brain had me worried even though there was no real reason to.   Anyway... I just got the call from her with the results, and my beta went up to 5684!! Obviously anything could still happen, but that makes me so relieved to see that it went up so much (it was 165 last week on the second draw)!
  • @acciocoffee that’s great!!! Hopefully things keep looking good for all of us!
  • 1. 4 weeks 3 days

    2. Good ol’ bloated and tired. My joints already feel different, looser.

    3. Generally hopeful, can’t wait for first appt. Anxious thoughts creep in randomly - will this babe stick? when is something going to go wrong? - and Im trying to breathe through it.

    4. At 8 weeks - first week of March, will have first prenatal and sonogram.

    5. DH applied to another job that would mean a move for us - and he got an interview! Hard to imagine moving while pregnant, but don’t have to really plan on that yet... otherwise DS (2.5) has been wonderful lately, working on new words and pronunciation.

    6. Moana or Curious George - but he’s only watched each of them once so who really knows. He mostly loves Thomas the train, Stinky and Dirty, and Kipper the dog.
