I think this is officially set as a Tuesday topic, but since it hasn't happened, I decided to start it! Hope you all are okay with that.
How far along are you? How big is baby?
How are you feeling?
What part of being a mom are you most excited about? Most nervous about?
Rants/Raves?
Questions?
GTKY: If you could live in any sitcom/tv show, which would you choose and why?
Re: FTM check in 2/14
14+4. Baby supposedly can fit into a coffee mug today. The "fit into" size comparisons are strange to me because of course they can fit, they always could when they were smaller too? But I understand the sentiment.
How are you feeling?
Good! My nausea is really non-existent at this point, but I am still too scared to stop the diclegis. I tried last Friday and it did not go well.
What part of being a mom are you most excited about? Most nervous about?
Most excited about watching someone grow up and sharing this experience with my husband.
Most nervous about my ability to make everything work with both of our work schedules without messing up or our lives falling into complete disarray. We are already a bit of a mess, so who knows how bad it can get.
Rants/Raves?
Work was bad today. Between getting very little sleep last night because I was stressed about what I was walking into today and people being the opposite of helpful in trying to get things done on time... it did not go well. Trying to just shrug it off and move on to a new day tomorrow. I'm on call tonight though so just hanging at my desk until things pick up again this evening. More of a ramble than a rant, but oh well.
Questions?
Anyone else wondering if they will ever actually look pregnant or just fat? I'm feeling that way recently! Hoping the belly rounds out at some point.
GTKY: If you could live in any sitcom/tv show, which would you choose and why?
Probably Gilmore Girls, although that's also just what I've been watching most recently. That small town always had a lot of appeal to me. I'm sure most small towns are not that idyllic, but one can dream!
I would also say Parks and Rec but feel like that is cheating since it is set in small town Indiana, which is where I grew up. Probably a little bit of a satire of the location, but not too far from the truth!
15+2 weighs the same as a deck of playing cards, about 4 inches long.
How are you feeling?
Much better than first tri, but still not quite myself. The fatigue is the worst part. I just can't seem to get anything done, and having the Olympics on 24/7 certainly isn't helping.
What part of being a mom are you most excited about? Most nervous about?
I'm really excited to have a tabula rasa that I can help mold. I think I can be good at this, and same for DH. I'm excited to have someone who knows and understands me better than anyone else. I'm very close to my mom, and really hope to eventually have that kind of relationship with my future child. With my mom and I it took about 24 years, but I definitely feel that it was worth it. I'm just excited to see what kind of person they will be, and what things we share or don't.
I've mentioned this elsewhere before, but I'm most nervous about having a toddler. I kind of hate toddlers. I had to do a child development class in college, and a practicum in the preschool and I HATED it. I love kids when they get to be about 5, but those first few years after the infant stage are going to be really tough for me. Everyone says it's different when it's your own, and I'm really banking on that being true.
Rants/Raves?
Pregnancy is considerably worse than I was expecting. My mom had a really easy pregnancy, and I was hoping to be similar to her. While I haven't had the worst experience, everything has been difficult, and the symptoms have been much stronger than I had anticipated. I underestimated how shitty being pregnant would be.
Questions?
My questions all have to do with what to do with a baby when it gets here. I've never been around babies, and know nothing about how to care for one. I'll be bumbling through trying to keep it alive. Luckily we have Google now, and I can find answers to all of my basic questions like "how often does a baby need to eat" and "what toys do you give an infant."
GTKY: If you could live in any sitcom/tv show, which would you choose and why?
Probably Gilmore Girls. Stars Hallow would be a fun place to live, and they have a great sense of community that would be nice for raising a kid. I'm a sucker for a festival.

Ha! I always answer the questions before I read other responses so I won't be influenced, but it looks like I nailed a few of your answers anyway! Gilmore Girls is clearly the best choice
I also agree with you on the "fits into" comparisons. Sometimes they give you three different comparisons, but those things are all different sizes. I never know what to make of that. It's why I also give inches. Those are less subjective.

How far along are you? How big is baby? I'm 14+3 today, baby is either a peach or a lemon depending on the source. And also a baby chick today apparently!
How are you feeling? Soooo much better, no more nausea and a lot more energy. And any anxiety I had during first tri (although I admittedly didn't have it that bad) is totally gone now that we got NIPT and NT results back.
What part of being a mom are you most excited about? Most nervous about? Oh gosh, that is tough. I think just experiencing that same unconditional love I have with my own mom but in reverse. I've been having dreams about the baby and even in the dreams I love her SO much, I can't imagine how I will feel when she is actually here. And I can't wait to see DH as a dad. I am nervous that I'll accidentally raise a brat or that she will struggle with depression or body issues like I did as a kid. I know it was sooo hard for my mom to watch me struggle.
Rants/Raves? Time is still going so slowly! Also my mom is kind of stressing me out about a baby shower, she is irked because she has been to so many for daughters of her friend group and they haven't offered to throw me one (note: I barely know these women, whereas their kids grew up together), and she wants me to invite them to the one my friend offered to throw, but I'd really rather not have them there.
Questions? None atm! @doctormom33 I for sure just look fat in my work clothes, so I just keep awkwardly telling/reminding people I am pregnant. Especially today when I ordered Wendy's - "baby really likes Wendy's haha" #awkward
GTKY: If you could live in any sitcom/tv show, which would you choose and why? Friends, I love them so much and just want to be friends with all of them and hang out at Central Perk all the time.

How far along are you? How big is baby?
13w4. Baby is a lemon
How are you feeling?
my body doesn't like being pregnant. Nauseous, exhausted, and most recently, achy. All the women in my family had easy pregnancies, and often have difficulty relating. I knew this would be difficult with having many autoimmune conditions though, and the reward is so worth it.
What part of being a mom are you most excited about? Most nervous about?
I'm most nervous about passing on Crohns disease to my child, overall. There is just as likely of a chance, if not more so, for the baby not to have it though. I'm excited to watch baby grow up, and give baby all my love.
Rants/Raves?
haven't brought myself to go maternity clothes shopping, though at this point, I only have one pair of my pants that fit. I didn't except to need them so soon
Questions?
not at this time, for once.
GTKY: If you could live in any sitcom/tv show, which would you choose and why
not a sitcom, but I would love to be on bizarre foods on the travel network, and just live my life traveling and eating new foods. It sounds so perfect.
12w3d and as big as a fig (I've never seen a real fig not already in a Fig Newton, so no idea)
How are you feeling?
Pretty well thus far. I'm not as narcoleptic tired as I was a few weeks ago. The infrequent nausea is pretty much gone. My appetite seems to be returning. But I still have zero motivation to do more than the bare minimum. I thought pregnant women were supposed to nest? My nest definitely resembles a Harpy who gives no fucks.
What part of being a mom are you most excited about? Most nervous about?
I guess I'm excited about it all? I honestly have no idea about any particular thing. I'm even excited to no longer be "that girl who has no kids but instead has a dog". Talk about a way to make a girl feel like shit. =/
I'm nervous about the birth. I'm a control freak when it comes to my body. I don't like taking cold medicine, I don't like being drunk, I don't like taking things that alter my mental function. But I'm afraid I'll need pain meds, and be so incoherent I'll miss the specialness of the birth itself. Maybe I'm worrying about nothing.
Rants/Raves?
They're having me closely monitor my blood sugar levels every day (morning fasting and 2hr after every meal). So far, they're all ridiculously normal according to my glucose monitor. So that's good, but I feel like I'm being extra strict with my diet, which is no fun.
Yay, it only took a week of hunting around off and on, but finally found the heartbeat for the Lil Bean and took an audio recording on my phone. I let my husband listen last night in bed and he kind of choked up asking if that's what he thought it was.
Questions?
What the hell do you pack in your "Go Bag" when you're leaving for the hospital? What's very useful that you didn't know about? What's not worth wasting space over?
GTKY: If you could live in any sitcom/tv show, which would you choose and why?
I don't really watch tv? But I watch old re-runs of Star Trek probably more than anything else. I guess it'd be a pretty nice lifestyle there. No money, no greed, humanist type of society, enough technology to keep things flowing smoothly, and good healthcare generally.
How are you feeling? Not pregnant, that's for sure. Besides a very thick middle, and a desire to eat everything, not much is different right now. I do occasionally get terrible gas and heartburn, but those pass quickly and it's back to normal. I should feel pretty lucky, but I can't wait til people can tell I'm pregnant instead of just speculating how much weight I gained lately.
What part of being a mom are you most excited about? Most nervous about? I guess I'm most excited about 'Mom-ing' in general. My mom and I had a tough relationship and she passed away when I was 15 so I'd really like a chance to have a bond with my kid. I'm excited about watching them grow up and discovering their personalities.. I'm most nervous about the birth itself, I think. I'm in Team 'All Drugs' so I don't really have a birth plan or anything - I think it's just the unknown that worries me a lot. I'm also nervous about how I will handle post-partum life. I have depressive episodes occasionally and I'm worried about PPD and struggling mentally afterwards.
Rants/Raves? Nothing to really rant or rave about - I"m super excited to almost be out of first trimester, though so that's a great feeling. And my cerclage is healing great (I think?) - no more cramping or spotting so I'm excited to get back at working out soon.
Questions? This may sound dumb, but i'm kind of confused about maternity clothing. I'm on a limited budget so I'm not sure what's the best stuff to get? I did get a bella band - I hope that proves to be worth it.
GTKY: If you could live in any sitcom/tv show, which would you choose and why? Maybe Downton Abbey - but only if I was a member of the super rich family (not the servants). Their clothes/fashions are AMAZING and it seems like they don't do a whole heck of a lot all day - which I could totally get behind.
15 weeks today, baby is the size of a navel orange
How are you feeling?
Eh ok. I’m still so tired and really struggling to gain weight. I’m wondering if that is causing some of the exhaustion. But I do think it is improving week by week, so I just keep telling myself it’ll be better soon!
What part of being a mom are you most excited about? Most nervous about?
Most excited about just being a mom, it is all I’ve ever wanted to be. I’m just so happy that DH and I are getting the opportunity to be parents.
Most nervous about passing along my genetic condition, each child I have has a 50/50 shot of getting it. It was a risk DH and I were willing to take, but I still really hope they are negative.
Rants/Raves?
Nothing really. Finally got our next appointment scheduled after switching to full time high risk OB practice and it’s going to be the anatomy scan, so I guess that’s my current rave. I really want to know what baby is so I stop saying it (I guess that’s my rant- lame).
Questions?
I wonder when other people started to feel baby move. I sometimes wonder if that’s what I’m feeling, but do not feel it consistently enough to figure it out.
GTKY: If you could live in any sitcom/tv show, which would you choose and why?
I was obsessed with One Tree Hill as a teenager. I was born in North Carolina and in my mind it is the perfect place, and that’s where the show took place. I always wanted to be a part of it.
My husband also has a significant genetic condition, but we opted to use a sperm donor because of it. Fx for you to not pass it on! That must be scary.
My doctor was asking if I was feeling movement yet at my appointment Monday. I was 15 weeks. It's early, but not uncommon at 14-15 weeks. I haven't felt anything yet, but they keep asking about it now, so I must be getting close.

15 weeks, 5 days. Baby is the size of an avocado.
How are you feeling?
I’ve been feeling good most of the pregnancy, feel lucky for that. But last week my anxiety came back. It’s a very overwhelming time at work so maybe that’s why. Hoping to manage it better than I have in the past. Also been struggling with insomnia.
What part of being a mom are you most excited about? Most nervous about?
I’m excited to meet my baby and watch them grow. Excited to see my husband become a dad. And growing our little family. I’m very nervous about the first month after birth, getting home from the hospital.
Rants/Raves?
I hate anxiety and insomnia.
Questions?
Are any of you doing exercising that is simple/easy to add to a daily routine (this might help with my insomnia/anxiety)
GTKY: If you could live in any sitcom/tv show, which would you choose and why? omg this question is too hard. All my favorite sitcoms would be dismal to live in (Seinfeld, Arrested Development- tho I kinda did grow up in AD since I’m from Orange County originally.) I think I’d have to say Bob’s Burgers. I love the Belcher family and always wonder what seaside town the show is mimicking.

How are you feeling?
Soooo much better! Fatigue has eased up and I have been able to enjoy eating again.
What part of being a mom are you most excited about? Most nervous about?
I'm beyond excited to hold my baby for the first time and all the other milestones. I get teary eyed just thinking about it.
I'm nervous about getting accustomed to parenthood. It seems like my family thinks that it will be extremely difficult for my fiance and I. I think they're knuckleheads but it did put some seeds of doubt in my mind.
Rants/Raves?
I've been trying to exercise more since I've been feeling better but it's just not going well. I tried to go for a long walk but ended up calling a cab because my body was aching so badly. Ughh!
Questions?
I'm blanking.
GTKY: If you could live in any sitcom/tv show, which would you choose and why?
Ooooh. Ummmm, A Different World. They were a group of friends trying to become better people and change the way the world perceived them. The thing is that they had so much fun doing it. I loved it!
@marafoxI've wanted to be a TV or movie extra since I found out my great aunt was an extra in Ghost...... And if Bob's Burgers wasn't animated, I would def try to be in the background at one of those booths lolol.
Edit- autocorrect did a bad spelling job
