How far along are you? 18 weeks tomorrow Why are you high-risk? AMA and blood pressure. Also my platelet count has been low, but not yet clear how much of a problem that will be. Any additional monitoring or testing this week? My first hematology appointment will be on Monday. Hopefully, I’ll get some clarity about the low platelets.
Any questions/concerns/news? Just wondering what to expect from my hematology appointment. It doesn’t help that the department is called hematology and oncology. Just trying to keep calm and take it one day at a time. It is quite possible that this is just pregnancy related low platelets, which is no big deal and fairly common.
What positives are you seeing with your pregnancy today? Starting to feel really excited about the anatomy scan on May 1st!
GTKY: What's the dummest way you've injured yourself? I am lucky enough to never have had a serious injury, no broken bones or anything! About a year ago I was playing around and pretending to kick my husband in the butt, like very dramatically with a big wind up and everything, and somehow I managed to kick the arm of the couch. I don’t know if I ended up spraining my toe or what, but my two middle toes throbbed dully for months after. So dumb!
How far along are you? 17wks 3 days Why are you high-risk? AMA and they found a hematoma. Any additional monitoring or testing this week? I had an amnio within the week. I felt like I was the worst patient ever. I didn't react well at all then had unrelated bleeding two days later due to a polyp on my cervix. All is fine, just very scary timing to bleed. Now we just wait for the results but I feel confident all is ok.
Any questions/concerns/news? not really.
What positives are you seeing with your pregnancy today? I am finding myself enjoying pregnancy more often than I find myself worrying about it now I think. Ugh. I can't unbold this.
GTKY: What's the dummest way you've injured yourself? I fell belly first on a snowbank trying to save time walking. No real injury other than soreness but worried I hurt my poor baby.
How far along are you? 19w3d Why are you high-risk? SCH, previous preterm labor, Mo-Di twins Any additional monitoring or testing this week? None -- MFM appointment on Monday! Can't wait.
Any questions/concerns/news?
What positives are you seeing with your pregnancy today? I am over halfway there! Just keep taking it one day at a time. I am feeling the positives from being able to feel both babies distinctly and knowing they are getting stronger every day.
GTKY: What's the dummest way you've injured yourself? I'm lucky enough to never have broken any bones. Which is amazing considering how clumsy I am!
How far along are you? 18 + 4 Why are you high-risk? Mo/Di twins Any additional monitoring or testing this week? I had my MFM appt on Wednesday. Both twins were measuring well for everything and my risk of TTTS is low at this point. I have to have an ultrasound every two weeks from now on. Any questions/concerns/news? I thought that if everything went well at this appointment then I was out of the woods, but doc said once I make to 28 weeks with no complications, then I’m likely out of the woods. He moved my delivery week up. It was originally going to be between 38 and 39 weeks and now it’s between 36 and 37. Part of me is super relieved that both babies are right on track, but I’m concerned that something could change. What positives are you seeing with your pregnancy today? Even though I have an anterior placenta, I’m starting to feel some movements! GTKY: What's the dummest way you've injured yourself? When I was in high school my sister and I were messing around and I pushed her and ran, but it was icy. I landed right on my tailbone and ended up with an injury that required chiropractic care for about two months. It never fully healed and I still have tailbone problems to this day.
@emzie54 Good luck on Monday! Hopefully it brings good news @babybakie Glad to hear the amnio ended up okay but I'm sure those few days of bleeding were scary
@powellgirl Early delivery is a scary thought at this stage but when pregnant with my DD, I was begging for them to induce earlier than planned! I was sooooo swollen and painful by 36 weeks that I just wanted her out. I ended up on the edge of developing Pre-E so they induced at just over 37 weeks and she was perfectly healthy How far along are you? 20+4 Why are you high-risk? Type 1 Diabetes
Any additional monitoring or testing this week? Saw the MFM yesterday for another US and need to do a 24 urine collection for baseline protein numbers. Endo appt next Monday.
Any questions/concerns/news? Even at 20+ weeks, we got to see an amazing amount of detail of little man's heart and it looks fantastic! Official echo is in 4 weeks but so happy to see everything appears to be forming well at this point
What positives are you seeing with your pregnancy today? Great looking ultrasound and lots of solid kicks. DH and I both felt kicks on the outside just this week and it seems like the little dude hasn't stopped kicking since (even as I type this!!)
GTKY: What's the dummest way you've injured yourself? In kindergarten, I was walking up the slide in the playground at school. Another kid was sliding down and he ended up landing on my hand and beyond my middle finger. I was afraid I'd get in trouble, and he was the "naughty" kid in my grade, so I blamed it on him and told the teachers he was climbing up the slide. I don't know if he got in trouble but I'll always remember it and feel a little guilty.
