DD check-in fourth week of May! 5/20-5/26 (2/09)

How far along are you? When is your due date? What's the size of your LO?

What's going on this week? How are you feeling, any rants or raves?

Any upcoming appointments? Any updates on recent appointments?

Are you having a baby shower? When? What's the plan?

How far along are you? When is your due date? What's the size of your LO? 25 weeks today! Baby is as big as a cantaloupe/ head of cauliflower!

What's going on this week? How are you feeling, any rants or raves?

Bump has really grown this week, I just can't hide it anymore! Also, I'm finalizing the registry and guest list for my baby shower. Also trying to book a birthing class at the hospital!

Question: do you still have quiet and active days with baby's movement? Some days he moves so much, and then others not so much.

Any upcoming appointments? Any updates on recent appointments?

Next scan is next week Thursday! Can't wait.

Are you having a baby shower? When? What's the plan?

Friend is planning one for the first Sunday of April! It'll be co-ed and not a traditional shower. I'm not keen on opening gifts in front of people- do I have to?

@babydream88 I think this has been discussed a few times on the Baby Showers threads, and I feel like the general consensus is that yes, you should open your gifts during the shower.  However, depending on how nontraditional yours will be, you may be able to get by without doing it.  But, if people know they are coming to a shower, no matter how nontraditional, some people will still expect that you will open their gifts before they leave.

@sandbar517 THANKS!! It's been a while so I forgot that it had been discussed on that thread! With us being weeks apart in due dates sometimes an issue only seems significant when you're going through it yourself! I appreciate the feedback ❤️

    Thanks for starting this!

How far along are you? When is your due date? What's the size of your LO?

24+6   I feel like time has gone so slow ever since I turned 20 weeks!

What's going on this week? How are you feeling, any rants or raves?

I’m feeling ok but definitely really tired and achey by the end of the day.

Any upcoming appointments? Any updates on recent appointments?

Regular check up with my midwife next Friday. I don’t have a U/S scheduled until 3/5 and it feels weird to have had so many the first few weeks and now there’s such a long wait until the next one

Are you having a baby shower? When? What's the plan?

Nope nothing this time especially since it’s another girl so we have everything we need.

@babydreams88 re movement - it definitely varies day to day for me.  She’s most active around 9pm so that’s when I really try to take note of how much she’s moving compared to their days.  I just read that we’re at the point now where the baby is probably rocked to sleep while we’re moving around so I think it makes sense of movement patterns change around now.  And for showers, I hate opening gifts in front of people but I did it and it wasn’tas bad as I thought it would be because people were only paying really attention when it was their gift.  But it’s your party so I say do what you’re most comfortable with.  As a guest, I wouldn’t mind if the mom to be didn’t open gifts.

@fraufarbissina that's so nice that you're pretty much ready for baby then! How old is your DD? How's she feeling about her little sister?

I know what you mean about adjusting to less appointments now, but the kicks sure help to reassure as we wait! It's reassuring to know you get lulls in movement too. It still feels like so long to go until our LO's are here!

I wouldn't mind if the host didn't open presents either. I guess I'll see what my friend says, hope it's not that bad. I know dh wouldn't want to open presents in front of people either! Lol.

@babydreams88 she’s 13 months and has no idea what’s going on lol if I ask her where the baby/her sister is, she’ll point to my belly and kiss it which is the sweetest thing ever but she still doesn’t really get it.

@babydreams88 I'm with you.  I don't like when everyone is staring at me while I awkwardly open gifts.  I'm not exactly a wallflower, but I feel like there is a certain expectation of excitement for each gift!  And while the Nose Freida is helpful, let's be honest -- it's not going to get the same reaction as an adorable outfit!  But....I agree with @sandbar517 I think some of the more traditional gift givers want to see you open gifts.

How far along are you? When is your due date? What's the size of your LO?

26 weeks today!  Two little kales!

What's going on this week? How are you feeling, any rants or raves?

We finally found a glider that my husband likes for the nursery!  He is 6'4 and built like a lumberjack so it's not been easy.

Any upcoming appointments? Any updates on recent appointments?

We have an appointment on Friday but the next ultrasound isn't until 3/2.  Can't wait to see the little ones!

Are you having a baby shower? When? What's the plan?

March 10.  We have a very large family so a lot of people are coming (65 or so).  I'm grateful that aside from providing addresses for the invitations and giving the green light on invitation design, I've been pretty much left out of planning.  Our theme is owls for our boy/girl twins.  We aren't doing games, just a nice opportunity for people to hang out and enjoy some yummy food and cake.  I don't like asking people for things or for me to be the center of attention so I'd much rather just give people time to spend time with each other.

25 weeks 6 days! 5/24/18 - size of a cauliflower. Whatever the heck that means :p

What's going on this week? How are you feeling, any rants or raves?

Not much going on this week. My Asthma has been pretty bad this pregnancy so  I went and saw my PCP and they started me on pulmicort. I’m O2 Sats were at 95% on room air. Definitely explains why I’ve been feeling winded!

Any upcoming appointments? Any updates on recent appointments?

Next midwife appointment/glucose check is in two weeks. I’ve been measuring two weeks ahead so she said if I still was at this next appointment she was going to have me schedule another ultrasound so we can see how big she is. I’m not mad at that!

Are you having a baby shower? When? What's the plan?

No shower! Third baby - my Mil and my sister both wanted to throw me one and while I appreciate the sentiment  I *hate* being the center of attention for stuff like that.

And for showers, I hate opening gifts in front of people

So. Much. This. And I agree with the previous poster who mentioned there’s an expectation that you have to get excited over each and every gift. Opening the gifts is like performance art. Haaate it.

    So cuuuute!!!!

Thanks ladies it helps to know I'm not the only one loathe to be the center of attention and act excited that people bought me gifts!!

@nhardler so glad you found an awesome glider! And the owl theme is adorable :) I also don't want to do games.

@pandakov I'm also hating the vegetable descriptions every week
