Not a whole lot to see yet, but I had my first scan (complicated history, they wanted to make sure it implanted well). Measured just shy of 6 weeks with a HR of 110! Very excited to have seen a heartbeat so early because I had been mentally preparing not to. Go back next week for one more early scan and then if all goes well I graduate to the normal schedule! Can’t wait to start seeing more blobs!
these are the first early u/s pics i've seen... can you tell us what we're looking at? is the open black space the uterine cavity? and the little bubble to yolk sac?

You are right. The black space is uterine cavity. Bubble is yolk sac/ baby depending on angle of ultrasound. Top of he picture is your belly bottom of pic towards your spine.
I was disappointed to find out mine doesn't do them in the office. My 8 week appt is on the 28th and it sounds like I will *maybe* get to try for a heartbeat, but most likely it'll just be my yearly exam.
I’m disappointed too. I just called and they said I wouldn’t have an ultrasound at my 10 week appointment, just listening for a heartbeat with the stethoscope, and the ultrasound usually isn’t until 18 weeks. Doesn’t this seem really late for a first ultrasound?? This is my first pregnancy, so I don’t really know, but I was expecting it by 10 weeks so I can see and make sure everything is growing in the right place and doing well. :-/
@rabtaido1214 That's pretty standard for a normal pregnancy. The women who have earlier ultrasounds usually have had some sort of complication or are unsure about how far along they are. With DD my first ultrasound was around 20 weeks.
I had an ultrasound last week at 5 weeks 4 days due to pain. They saw a little gestational sac and that was all. Today at 6 weeks 3 days they just saw a bigger gestational sac with some thickening in one area of the sac. I have to go back next week. I’m dreadfully afraid that I have been super miserable and I’m not even going to get a baby out of this.
@lrlybbert I'm in a similar boat. I had an ultrasound yesterday at 6w6d during my first prenatal appt. I wasn't expecting to have one done, the CNM said it would be an "unofficial" one. She saw a gestational sac but nothing else, and set me up for another appt on Friday to look again. She assured me that the gestational sac is a good sign and it is normal not to see much else at this point. She also said it could be because she was using the portable ultrasound machine which isn't as powerful. She really tried to reassure me that things are okay and normal. I'm trying to be hopeful but of course right now, I'm still worried and anxious for Friday. FX for good results for both of us, and anyone else dealing with something similar

Thanks- I was wondering the same thing. My first ultrasound is scheduled for 20w, but at my 12w appointment they are going to use a doppler to listen for the heartbeat. (I’m trying really hard not to be impatient- I really don’t believe I’m pregnant yet- which is dumb.)
@knottieamusements - I think I can relate. I took tests for a week after the first positive because it didn't seem real. Then I took a digital because it at least said "PREGNANT" instead of me just looking at a line and I only felt slightly better. I'm so disappointed that my first appointment isn't until March 21st!! Like I need a doctor to tell me I'm pregnant with some sort of proof before I can fully believe it.
@kimberbeep - Exactly! One of my friends came over last week and found a pregnancy test sitting on the counter. She was like “Are you keeping this for the scrapbook or something?” No- since I’m not throwing up every morning, I’m keeping it to convince myself I’m really pregnant.
To all the ladies with ultrasounds already- sorry for the highjack- and I am looking forward to more pics!
I had my first U/S yesterday (and got to see the heartbeat with DH on Valentine’s Day!! ❤️) at 7w, 2d and confirmed my EDD of 10/1. Everything looks good and I’ll try to post the pic later!
Had an ultrasound but they could only see a gestational sac and possible yolk sac no fetal pole or fetus. It showed a due date that’s 5 days different then my LMP. So I had blood work, and a follow up ultrasound on 2/22. Hopingeverything is ok

Ahhhh! You transferred two, right @hoping4lilbit? So fraternal twins? So exciting!!?
im nervous about what my us on Monday will reveal. We only transferred one but my hcg suggests that it might be identical twins! That’s a whole new level to process.
@northbeach3 Yes, transferred two. In fact, they were the only two embryos that were fertilized and still viable at the time of transfer. We literally put all our eggs in one basket.
Baby measuring 6w4d (I was close estimating at 7w)...
No ultrasound photo but I did get to see our little bean for the first time today with a strong steady heartbeat that could be seen clearly through the ultrasound.
Most importantly baby implanted in the right place so this pregnancy is deemed viable!!!! Hooray!
Next scan is at 12 weeks but we are so over the moon right now!
