    Why are you high-risk?
    AMA, Diabetic, IC

Any additional monitoring or testing this week?
next appointments are Monday 02/19 - ultrasound, pre-cerclage consult with my MFM and my first appointment with my regular OB

    Rants/Raves/Questions?
Rave: for anyone who missed my update in the last thread..... i'm officially TEAM PINK.
Rant: we continue to push off announcing our pregnancy to family because my sister in law is also pregnant and my father in law is having a difficult time with that. I end up feeling bitter that we can't celebrate with our family because of her. Don't get me wrong, i love my sister in law- but DH & I had such a rough year last year that i want to celebrate all the milestones and victories. We're super supportive of her: in fact last weekend we ended up going to babies r us and buying her a stroller travel system... i just want to be able to be happy too, as petty as that sounds

GTKY: If you could hire someone to help you, would it be with cleaning, cooking, or yard work?
definitely cleaning.. i'm a terrible wife when it comes to cleaning the house l

Rants/Raves/Questions? Ditto @harleyquinn0621's rave - we found out yesterday we're team pink! My only rant is that there's got to be an end in sight for this insomnia right?!?

GTKY: If you could hire someone to help you, would it be with cleaning, cooking, or yard work? Umm, all of the above? Actually we have had a cleaning service before and I loved them! They would always stack DS's toys in a pyramid or something with a stuffed animal "hiding" in there for him to come home and find. They were the best

@harleyquinn0621 - I'm sorry that you have to push your announcement. Can I ask why your Father in Law is having a hard time? You guys have been through so much, it's so important that you have the love and support you need through this (very boring lol!) pregnancy! I'm so sorry that you're not getting that from your family right now. I hope it changes very very soon. And you don't sound petty at all <3

  • @mrsbubbles-2 she has been in this relationship for a little while now but never brought him around the family. So she suddenly shows up with him Thanksgiving and Christmas and then announces shes pregnant shortly after (which explains why she suddenly started bringing him around). so no one really knows him. She is 35 years old, so its not like shes young and shes been a single mother for a long time and is an amazing mother- and her boyfriend seems like a good guy.  i think it was just a big surprise. My father in law will get over it, he is a good guy but its just taking some time. She text my husband complaining how last time when we announced everyone was happy for us, but she forgets DH & I were married for 5 years before we got pregnant the first time- i had become part of the family. It's different circumstances

  • @harleyquinn0621 - oh that's tough. Of course you want to be supportive and let him take his time but it's like hey! She's happy, be happy with her! I'm sorry it's causing you some problems, though. I hope this clears up sooner rather than later so you guys can have another amazing little addition to the family!

And I think I'm still in shock too! This is how I was with DS, once everything came back from the blood work it just got so real so fast. I'm so excited to add to our little chaos but I've moved from my serene little bubble of pregnancy to the must plan for all the things right now phase.

How are you doing with your diabetes management? Your next appointment is coming up fast!

    14w6d

    Why are you high-risk?
2 previous placental abruptions and premature labor, and an early miscarriage

Any additional monitoring or testing this week?
OB appointment tomorrow morning, finally (hopefully) drawing the blood for the NIPT

    Rants/Raves/Questions?
    Nope.

GTKY: If you could hire someone to help you, would it be with cleaning, cooking, or yard work?
Well we're in a townhouse so we have no yard (which annoys me soooo much, but that means no yard work), I definitely need help cleaning right now. Or more so organizing. And purging. If this baby is a girl the very first thing I'm doing is going through DS's clothes and donating/selling 99% of it, which will feel SO good. I have the desire to clean, just not the energy, especially with a toddler.

  • How far along are you?

    Why are you high-risk?
AMA, GD, previous miscarriage, previous history with hypertension

Any additional monitoring or testing this week?
As per the recent GD diagnosis I've been instructed by my OB to test my glucose for first morning fasting and 2 hours after every meal to give my MFM doctor some normal home data. So far? They've been relatively normal today, go figure. Moral of the story is don't feed me pure sugar, apparently.

The MFM office called and set up an initial appointment on the 20th.

    Rants/Raves/Questions?
I found the heartbeat on the home doppler today!

GTKY: If you could hire someone to help you, would it be with cleaning, cooking, or yard work?
House cleaning. I absolutely loathe dusting and vacuuming. My mom made me do it every day as a kid and I'd get in trouble if I didn't do it to her exacting standards. So now, as an adult, I can't be arsed to do it now unless there are fluff bunnies killing people in our long hallway. How I'm going to keep a spotless house with a kiddo is beyond me.

The surgery center just called to book my appointment for the cerclage on March 2nd....! now the anxiety can set in for that.... hahaha

@mrsbubbles-2 so far blood sugar has been good... i've had a couple of spikes that were totally my fault for eating things i know i shouldnt.. but fasting has been good and generally numbers look really good

also i've found if i don't over do it, i can still enjoy whatever i want... i had some cheesecake the other day- literally took all day to eat one piece but that kept my blood sugar from spiking and i still got to enjoy the delicious cheesecake

  • How far along are you?
    13w3d

    Why are you high-risk?
Crohns, autoimmune liver disease, autoimmune arthritis

Any additional monitoring or testing this week?
    Nothing until 3/2

    Rants/Raves/Questions?
Will the nausea and vomiting ever go away? Diclegis isn't cutting it anymore. Body is so unhappy right now, but since baby is doing well, not too much to worry about.

GTKY: If you could hire someone to help you, would it be with cleaning, cooking, or yard work? Cleaning!!! Hubby loves yardwork, so cannot complain there. Cooking is my passion, and while I don't mind cleaning, it would be amazing to have help there.
  • How far along are you? 13w2d

Why are you high-risk?  2 MCs, septate uterus (corrected), old as dirt

Any additional monitoring or testing this week? Nope - post-cerclage check up is Monday! Then nothing until March :(

Rants/Raves/Questions?  So I mentioned in an earlier post that I accidentally found out the sex the other and we are team blue! :) I'm pissed I found out, but happy about the results - although I would have been thrilled either way. My rant is more of a whine really - after next week it'll be a long time till my next appointment. After having an ultrasound every week at the RE, going to once a month is going to be weird!!

GTKY: If you could hire someone to help you, would it be with cleaning, cooking, or yard work?
Cleaning most definitely. I hate it and I'm not very good at it. Help would be amazing.

@harleyquinn0621 I just had my cerclage placed on Friday.  Have you had one before? I know everyone's experience is different, but if you have questions, I'll be happy to share what I went through... I was literally a nervous wreck before hand (crying in the OR waiting room!).
  • How far along are you?
    12w 5d

    Why are you high-risk?
    Diabetes

Any additional monitoring or testing this week?
Just had a 24 hour urine collect, blood work, ultrasound and finally meeting my high risk doctor and an appointment with my nutritionist.

    Rants/Raves/Questions?
I am anxiously awaiting my results from my NIPT. Wishing the adults in my house would step it up a little with helping around the house. And this feeling sick all the time really stinks. I almost puked all over the floor getting my blood drawn yesterday.

GTKY: If you could hire someone to help you, would it be with cleaning, cooking, or yard work?
Totally cleaning! I feel like I am always picking up after everyone in my house. The hubby, my adult sister, and my 5 year old DD.
  • How far along are you?
    12w4d

    Why are you high-risk?
history of pregnancy-induced hypertension and fetal growth restriction, AMA

Any additional monitoring or testing this week?
It's all routine, but I had my NT scan on Monday and everything looked great, which was a HUGE relief. I also did cell free fetal DNA testing Monday and am waiting for results, expected next week sometime.

    Rants/Raves/Questions?
I've decided that I want to enjoy this pregnancy, which will be my last. So today I'm celebrating the fact that I finally "met" my squish this week (first ultrasound). I finally feel pregnant. It's time to lean in!

GTKY: If you could hire someone to help you, would it be with cleaning, cooking, or yard work?
CLEANING! I actually like cooking and yard work. The truth is that I'm stubborn and frugal as hell though, and refuse to pay someone for work I can do myself even when I have no time and can afford it.

  • @neeraja_k Your mom made you vacuum EVERY DAY? That's ridiculously overkill. No wonder you hate it! I kind of like to vacuum, but I do it once a week at max. I'd do it less often if I didn't have a toddler that leaves a trail of crumbs everywhere he goes.

Congrats to those of you who found out team pink or blue! I'm eager to learn as well... just another week or so. My gut tells me I'm team pink, but my brain tells me I have a 50:50 chance of being wrong.

  • @harleyquinn0621 General. I was super weirded out about that, but talked to the anesthesiologist before hand and he reassured me it was safe. He said some meds they won't give pregnant women but what they're giving me was safe - and baby would take a little nap with me. Doc checked the HB after and it was just as strong as before so I felt a bit better after that.

It was super quick. My surgery was scheduled at noon and I was home by 3:30.
  • @hezzer78 thank you :D i'm so glad everything was so smooth for you. I think they are doing mine with a spinal and it didn't sound like i had much of a choice about that  :(  did you experience anything afterwards? pain? bleeding?

  • @harleyquinn0621 I had some pretty rough cramps right after when I woke up. I typically get SUPER bad cramps with my period (like laying in bed with a heating pad, can't function cramps) and these weren't THAT bad - but I would definitely call them strong. Extra strength tylenol did help though. I had very little spotting - it was all light brown/light pink - nothing red. My surgery was done Friday afternoon, by Sunday afternoon the spotting had stopped and by Monday morning the cramps were gone.
  • Super exciting for everyone who found out team pink or blue, I am anxiously waiting to join in your club!

    How far along are you?
    15 weeks today

    Why are you high-risk?
Genetic condition and autoimmune condition, can complicate pregnancy, birth, and pass to baby

Any additional monitoring or testing this week?
Not this week, just scheduled my next appointment after moving to MFM full time, which isn’t until 3/13

    Rants/Raves/Questions?
I don’t think so, just chugging along.

GTKY: If you could hire someone to help you, would it be with cleaning, cooking, or yard work?
Cleaning 100%. I have a 70lb pit bull that is a hair and drool machine, I can’t ever seen to keep up with her and the dust that is par for the course in the southwest.
  • ugh my Panorama test was declined by my insurance, when I contacted them with the billing code they said it's 100% covered but they need medical records from my dr. What a pain, why couldnt they reach out to my dr and request those instead of declining the claim. I called my DRs office and left a message asking them to send the records. It's just annoying

  • How far along are you? 14 Weeks, 4 days. My due date is August 13th.

Why are you high-risk? I had Gastric Bypass Surgery in October 2016. I got pregnant before the 2 years waiting period. My high-risk doctor told me that I would be at risk for developing a hernia, that although I am no longer diabetic I have to regularly test my sugar because I am a risk for Gestational diabetes, I could be at risk for pre-eclampsia because of my pre-surgery weight.

Any additional monitoring or testing this week?

    Rants/Raves/Questions?
Rants: It really sucks to be told that because of my gastric bypass I will have nausea and acid reflux throughout the whole pregnancy.

Raves: My spouse and I have chosen a date to make our pregnancy public, which I am really excited for.  I also just got accepted into a program from my doctor's office where a nurse will come to my house once a week from now until the baby is two years old and help me. Which is super exciting, and the best part super free!

GTKY: If you could hire someone to help you, would it be with cleaning, cooking, or yard work?
Cleaning definitely.  Specifically washing dishes and doing the laundry. I don't have a washer and dryer and  I can not bring my laundry up and down four flights of my stairs building without my husband.
  • How far along are you? 14 Weeks, 6 days.

    Why are you high-risk?
I lost my last pregnancy due to placental abruption

Any additional monitoring or testing this week?
Nope my next appointment is the anatomy scan on March 15th

    Rants/Raves/Questions?
I'm not sure which this falls under but I went in on Wednesday and it took so long to find the heartbeat on the  doppler! It was like a flash back to when we lost our first. I just wanted to curl up into a ball and fall to pieces with relief.

GTKY: If you could hire someone to help you, would it be with cleaning, cooking, or yard work?
Cleaning definitely. I feel like there's so little I can help with right now! My fiance is super supportive about doing so much though. He hasn't complained once . . . yet  :p

Why are you high-risk? I am 35 and overweight to begin with. When I was pregnant with my son, I developed Gestational Diabetes and High Blood Pressure. So far my blood sugar is still great, but the high blood pressure never went away.

Any additional monitoring or testing this week? I have my first appointment with Maternal/Fetal Med on 2/23

Rants/Raves/Questions? Pregnancy is so much more exhausting when you have a 1 year old to chase after!

GTKY: If you could hire someone to help you, would it be with cleaning, cooking, or yard work? Definitely cleaning!
