I have so much to do to get the nursery set up - remove wallpaper, paint, install new lighting, get furniture, get accessories, etc. How far along in my pregnancy should I get the ball rolling on this. I'm eager to start sooon, but am only 11 weeks along, so I know now would be too soon.
Re: When shoud I set up the nursery?
Even though you're still early on I would think its never too early to tackle that wallpaper, that looks to be the most difficult and time consuming on your list. And while you still have the energy I would def start with that soon.
As far as the other stuff I have all my furniture but just picked a paint color today, so thats where I'm at, at 29 weeks.
Yeah... I was of the thought that I had alllll the time in the world... Plus I was a little superstitious and figured I'd wait until my mid-20s (weeks) to really get cracking.
What a mistake.... Painting/cutting in at 28w, when it was 80* out, ordering furniture with a 10-12w delivery lag (it arrived 2w before baby), not getting clothes and supplies put away until 38-39w.... Ugh. I'm STILL putting the finishing touches on the room.
If we ever have another, I'll be starting the nursery as soon as I hit the 2nd tri.
GL to you- enjoy!
It's not too early to start stuff like painting, lighting, etc.
My DH painted last weekend and we are having the carpet installed this Monday. We are hoping to have a friend install a ceiling fan soon and DH will work on making some shelving for the closet and putting up more bars, etc. We ordered our furniture but don't expect it to be in until April, so I figure we'll have everything set up by the beginning of May which will work out well for shower timing (I think) and putting away clothing, etc.
If you have a lot to do before you would actually set up the furniture, it's best to get it done soon. Most furniture takes about 8-12 weeks to come in.
